Let Them Eat Cake

Calling all sweet-tooths of North West England, your time is now! There are many types of people at a wedding- some look forward to a tastebud-tantalizing meal or a crisp beverage from the bar. Others dream of a decadent dessert to satisfy even the sweetest of cravings. With the array of cakes and treats available in this area, the latter will most definitely feel right at home. Whether you can envision the wedding photos cutting into a traditional tiered wedding cake or you want to eat outside the box with a novelty design, there’s sure to be a baker here to make it happen. Can’t decide on one flavour? You don’t have to. More and more often, couples are choosing to change it up and have a smaller cake to cut in to, then offering guests sheet-pan cake slices or cupcakes in a variety of flavours.

If cake isn’t your style, or you want to add something different, there are bakers here who can offer a plethora of other dessert options, including pastries, chocolates, and even an ice-cream van.

Is There Such a Thing as Too Much Cake?

Many would say ‘no’, but you do want to make sure you’re getting the most out of your money. Keeping in mind the cost of a wedding cake, it’s important to have an idea of how much will be eaten so you’re not left with enough to feed a whole other wedding party. The average wedding size in the UK includes about 100 guests, and it’s generally understood that a 6, 8 & 12” cake is enough to feed a crowd of this size.

We met Becky at a wedding fayre and were so impressed with her cupcakes, so much so we ordered 12 bouquets to use as centrepieces and a 10” wedding cake with matching flower details. Becky accommodated our every need, ensuring the frosting flowers matched the bridal bouquet and other floral arrangements and dietary requirements and intolerances of our guests were taken into account. The service we received from Becky was incredible and the cakes were absolutely delicious. We had so many compliments and many of our guests thought the cupcake centrepieces were real flowers and they were pleasantly surprised to find out they were yummy cakes. We couldn’t recommend Becky highly enough.

Joanne made the most spectacular wedding cake we could have imagined. With sugar roses and a miniature edible version of our westie our cake was perfect. Not only did it look impressive but it tasted amazing. It was so hard to pick a favourite tier (chocolate orange - so tasty, vanilla and raspberry - deliciously classic and lemon - beautifully flavoured). Imagicake made sure we could let our gluten free guests enjoy the cake and not compromise on taste too. We would definitely recommend and will be returning for all our special occasion cakes in the future!
