Josie & Cameron's Love Story
Josie and Cameron first crossed paths years ago when a friend seated them together at their 21st birthday dinner, but timing wasn’t right.
They stayed in touch, and in 2018 the couple went on their first date. Cameron popped the question with a picture perfect proposal at sunset on a beach in the Philippines, and Josie says “it was the happiest moment and holiday ever!”
Pronovias Wedding Dress & Rixo Bridesmaids
Josie wore not one but two unforgettable looks: a sleek Pronovias gown for the ceremony, before changing into a sparkling Clio Peppiatt party dress for the evening.
She accessorised with heirloom jewellery - pieces that held deep family meaning, including a Cartier Love ring which had been a 30th birthday gift from Cameron, and her mum and grandmother's wedding rings as her something borrowed.
Reflecting on her dress shopping experience, Josie explains: "I definitely didn’t have a ‘the one’ moment with dress shopping, mainly because there was so much amazing choice out there and I liked so many, I could have had about 10!"
She chose her Pronovias dress as it 'ticked a lot of boxes'. She wanted something classic, timeless and suitable for hot temperatures. For the evening look, her hand-beaded, celestial Clio Peppiatt dress was the perfect party pick: "I absolutely loved this dress and know I’ll keep it forever!"
As Josie works for British fashion label Rixo, it was only natural that there'd be a bit of the brand mixed into her wedding. "For my bridesmaids, I went for a mixture of RIXO EVIE and VALERIE styles in a gorgeous hand-painted floral print on a white base, I loved them!"
Cameron wore a suit from Suitsupply, which was perfectly suited to the hotter temperatures, and the groomsmen wore linen suits.
The Emotional Wedding Ceremony
The wedding ceremony was made extra special as it was conducted by Josie's twin sister, who combined a celebrant-led style ceremony with a heartfelt speech and lots of personal details.
"It would have been special whatever happened," Josie says, "but she has recently recovered from cancer which made it even more emotional, everyone was crying!"
The couple describe the ceremony as one of the stand-out and most special memories from their wedding, as it contained a mix of personalised readings and speeches from their loved ones.
The bride walked down the aisle with her father, to Glasshouses by Maribou State.
A Mallorcan Wedding Venue Made for Celebrations
The couple chose Son Togores, a breathtaking finca in the hills of Mallorca, as their backdrop. With its rustic charm and sweeping views, it was the perfect setting for their wedding celebration.
Josie and her family have close ties to Mallorca, as her parents have owned a house there for over 20 years, and the place feels like a second home to her and Cameron.
They found the venue on Instagram before even getting engaged, and booked it without even visiting, straight after their engagement in the Philippines!
One of the biggest draws of the venue was that it was so beautiful, they didn't need to do much to it to decorate. The venue's coordinator was amazing in helping the couple plan from afar, and they kept their decor really simple, with pink, peach and white florals.
The couple made the most of having all their friends and family in one place, and kicked off their wedding celebrations with sundowner cocktails on the Thursday evening, followed by a welcome party on the Friday night, before the big day itself on the Saturday, followed by a much-needed recovery day (which turned into another party - ending in the early hours in Magaluf!).
Food, Drink & Surprise Entertainment
Just when you think this wedding can't get anymore dreamy, wait until you hear what was in store for the guests.
They sipped on cava sangria, followed by plenty of Studio Miraval rosé wine, and dined on fresh cod for starters, followed by Galician beef filet with smoked potato terrine and a dessert duo of dark chocolate pudding with homemade raspberry sorbet and a mango and passionfruit cheesecake with homemade coconut sorbet.
In the evening, guests enjoyed a selection of espresso martinis, margaritas and caipirinhas.
The couple decided to skip the wedding cake, and instead offered the double dessert option, plus a champagne tower. They used some of the money they saved on a saxophonist - who was meant to play for an hour, but loved the vibes so much he stayed all night! - and sparklers.
Josie thought she'd planned every detail to perfection, but the best man managed to surprise them both by arranging for R&B star Iyaz to be flown in from LA to perform a set. "It was AMAZING," Josie reflects. "He had everyone dancing."
When asked about her favourite moments from the day, Josie shares: "It was just looking around the dancefloor and seeing all my favourite people there, making friends with each other and just having a great time.
"I even spotted one of my dad's 70 year old friends topless on someone's shoulders during the party!"
Dream Honeymoon
After five days of non-stop partying, it was time to relax! Cameron and Josie went on a mini-moon to Borgo Pignano in Tuscany to relax and recover. They plan to go on a bigger honeymoon later in the year, going on safari in South Africa followed by island hopping in the Seychelles.
Josie & Cameron's Advice to Other Couples
The newlyweds recommend allowing yourself plenty of time to plan: "We tried really hard to enjoy the wedding planning process and not get stressed, being engaged for 18 months was a really nice timeline as we never felt overwhelmed by planning."
The are also quick to recommend a destination wedding - or at least prolonging the celebrations if you can: "A lot of people are put off planning weddings abroad, but we found the whole process completely seamless.
"If you have a place that’s special to you, I’d really recommend it, it was incredible to have everyone in our favourite place for three days rather than it all being over in one!"
