Set within 100 acres of woodland, lawns, and lakes, Walhampton School is nestled on the edge of Hampshire’s New Forest in the charming coastal town of Lymington. Recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, this centuries-old brick manor house offers an unrivalled setting - perfect for couples wishing to celebrate their special day. In addition to the enchanting grounds and characterful rooms, guests can enjoy breathtaking views across the Solent and towards the Isle of Wight, an idyllic backdrop for your wedding.

Facilities and Capacity

Steeped in history, Walhampton retains many of its original 18th- and 19th-century features, offering a range of elegant and unique indoor spaces. The estate boasts five distinctive rooms, accommodating anywhere from as few as 10 to up to 100 guests in total. Please note: The maximum guest total must include the couple themselves, the registrars, one member of Walhampton staff, as well as any additional suppliers such as a photographer, videographer, musicians, or singers.

With Regency glamour (but minus the corsets) couples may choose from the following ceremony spaces:

• The Shrewsbury Room, with its vaulted ceiling (100-person capacity)
• The Blue Room, an intimate setting with stunning views of the Isle of Wight (40-person capacity)
• The Front Entrance Hall, featuring wood floors, panelled walls, a grand staircase, and a beautiful wood-burning fireplace (60-person capacity)
• The Library, adorned with white columns and expansive windows overlooking the lawn (40-person capacity)
• The Study, offering a cosy hearth and long rows of windows framing views of ancient woodlands and the Mercury Pond (50-person capacity)

For outdoor celebrations, the Front Lawn and two terraces provide the perfect setting for warm-weather ceremonies and receptions, complete with sparkling drinks and canapés. In the cooler months, the welcoming atmosphere of the Front Entrance Hall creates the ideal place for enjoying refreshments by the fire.
