We loved the Old Barn not only because of it being so beautiful without much decoration needed at all, but everyone we dealt with made it such a special planning experience. Even though they do so many weddings they made us feel so special and would do anything to help! Always kept in touch to make sure our planning was okay and nothing was a trouble for them. Joss was amazing and was like having our very own wedding planner. She definitely took a lot of stress from us so we could enjoy the good parts of the planning and our big day!

We got married at The Old Barn in March 2023, and our family and friends all loved the venue as much as we did, especially the bumper cars! (This gets talked about at every family gathering) as it added so much fun and was completely unique!

We chose this venue for many reasons, firstly it's beautiful just as it is, but being a DIY venue it gave us the opportunity to make our wedding completely unique and add our own touches, secondly the price was fantastic compared to all the other venues we considered - we had the venue from the Friday until the Sunday which was brilliant, also the bumper cars which added a special touch and gave us incredible photos of us and our guests.

Joss and the team at The Old Barn are incredible, they love what they do and it shows! They were always quick to respond to any queries we had before the day, info about vendors and other aspects to make our day just as we wanted it and on the day we could relax as the service was brilliant throughout. We couldn't recommend this venue highly enough.

We are so happy we chose The Old Barn as our wedding venue, it's an incredible setting to get married in, so much fun but what really makes it stand out is the team behind the scenes - they truly care about each couple having their best day. Joss was such a huge support to us during the planning (which we weren't very good at!) and on the day. She knows everything there is to know about planning weddings and she will help you have exactly the day you want to have, she just totally understood our vision and made it happen. One of our suppliers ran late, Joss handled that seamlessly to minimise how it affected us on the day and some of the other staff even stayed late so that we could still have the full time on the dodgems. We have been to another wedding at The Old Barn since and our friends had the same experience with the team there, they really are amazing. There are lots of beautiful places to get married in Devon but do they all have this incredibly passionate team behind them? I don't think so.

The Old Barn = beautiful, unique, full of heart, basically faultless!

Wedding venues either seem to be all the same or trying too hard to stand out. The Old Barn doesn’t need to try, it really stood out to us as somewhere special from the moment we entered. Everyone keeps asking me if we got married in Italy because the ceremony room looks so special with its grapevines.

The dodgems were a massive hit, even my most stuffy of old relatives had huge grins on their faces whizzing round, it was hilarious! They are a must. And if you only need one reason to get married here its the dodgem photo where the photographer makes the lights swirl around you. Amazing!

Joss also stood out to me over every other wedding venue manager I’d met and everyone I dealt with from florist to suppliers etc. She was just so helpful, she replied straight away to every email and came up with quick solutions to any issues. She was also really approachable and down to earth which was lovely and calming. She even knew exactly when I should start walking down the aisle so I’d arrive at the alter at the exact point in the song I wanted. How did she do that?! In short she’s superwoman.

The Old Barn has a heart and soul I never felt anywhere else we visited and anywhere else I’ve attended for other weddings for that matter.

The barn itself is amazing but the fact you get Joss and the team as well just make this place the best!! Being a little Ott when it comes to being organised I was a little worried when it came to planning but I’ve definitely met my match with Joss, there is nothing she doesn’t know or can’t help with from the second we viewed the barn nothing was too much trouble! The team on the day were all amazing. We always knew we wanted a relaxed day and that’s is 100% what we got. We couldn’t have wished for a better venue!! Thank you Joss and team 💕

We cannot recommend The Old Barn enough! From our first look around and booking the venue to the day itself, nothing was too much to ask. We were able to visit the venue on a number of occasions, which helped us to bring our vision to life. We were able to have exactly what we wanted, in the way we wanted it. Any questions we had, Joss answered them without hesitation. She also liaised with each of our suppliers organising what was to go where and when to arrive for setup which took pressure off of us. When it came to the day, Joss was there with the biggest smile, to not only welcome us as the Bride and Groom but also all of our guests. Knowing that someone was on hand and waiting in the wings just incase certainly helped with the anxiety! We opted to have a private session on the dodgems, early evening; this bought so much fun to the day! All guests were able to have a go and there were big smiles all round. The team operating the dodgems again were brilliant, they accepted song requests and encouraged everyone to have a go, they even put on a couple of slower sessions for our younger guests which was a thoughtful gesture. Despite The Old Barn being set within the grounds of a theme park, there were no onlookers or random strangers appearing in photos, there was no noise disrupting the ceremony and there were plenty of lovely, peaceful spots for photos. We had an amazing day and would not hesitate in recommending not only the venue but also Joss and her team; thank you all! 💕
