  • Winston’s Barn: A beautifully restored 17th-century barn, perfect for romantic, smaller-scale celebrations with rustic charm. 60 capacity

  • The Bannister Suite: Our largest and most vibrant, modernised room, also used for your wedding breakfast, the Bannister Suite can hold up to 120 guests comfortaby for your special 'i do' moment.

  • St. Peter’s Church: Located just on the edge of the estate in the village of Bull Busk, this historic church accommodates up to 120 guests for a traditional ceremony.

Amazing Setting

Everything was perfect for our outdoor ceremony. I couldn't of asked for a more stress-free experience. Our meal was so delicious and the DJ they have on staff couldn't of been better. All around a great place for a wedding if you don't want all the fuss of planning every last detail.

Best venue ever

Not just a venue some members of the team now feel like family.
Cannot fault one thing at all. The bridal suite is a tad dated in decor but it really doesn't matter considering the size and the shower.
All the staff but especially the wedding coordinator were wonderful. She bent over backwards to help us when we honestly thought that we would bave to cancel it due to a personal issue of mine making it look like we wouldnt be able to afford our wedding. We couldnt afford our original plan at all but Jess did eveything she could to help us plan something that was doable.
The setting is just gorgeous with the lake and even if you were to marry inside there barn, where we had out reception is just stunning and the food was the best ever, all our guests raved about it.

Venue for ceremony and reception

The Coniston Hotel was our venue for both the ceremony and reception and provided a great setting for a memorable day. The staff on the day were great, food was excellent and everything ran smoothly with no hitches. During the planning process we did find that communication could be slow at times, which was a little frustrating. However when we did speak to the team they were helpful, supportive and responsive to our requests to tweak menus etc. Overall our experience was good and we would definitely recommend as a venue.

Smooth day in the end!

Our day with Coniston ran so smoothly with our coordinator pulling the strings. My only issue was when we were missing items from the stylist it wasn’t flagged up until last minute which meant having to delay slightly. Communication could also do with an improvement with trouble getting in touch a lot of the time and requests when spoke about in person not actually recorded and actioned. Overall nothing could spoil the day though!

Beautiful, friendly venue

Our wedding at the Coniston was simply perfect. The wedding team were so helpful and professional, they answered all our questions and helped us make decisions when we were blinded by wedding planning! We had to rearrange our wedding due to covid, and what could have been a very stressful situation was managed seamlessly by the Coniston. We always felt confident all the details were under control. The whole day went so smoothly, with the wedding team liaising with all our suppliers and keeping everything running on time.

The hotel itself is so warm, cosy and friendly inside, and the beautiful grounds and amazing views were perfect for our wedding photos. The food at the wedding breakfast was just delicious. The Coniston accommodated a wide range of dietary requirements and everyone loved their meals. It meant a lot to us that we were able to celebrate with everyone together, as we were able to accommodate all our guests between the hotel rooms and the two holiday cottages, which received rave reviews.

We had several comments from our guests that it was the best wedding they’d ever attended. We could not recommend the Coniston highly enough as a wedding venue.

Absolutely incredible

We fell in love with the Coniston as soon as we viewed it. Sharon and Emily were really professional and ensured we had an amazing and stress free day. I definitely recommend the Coniston hotel.

Wonderful Wedding

Our wedding day was truly amazing!
We married on the 28.12.2021, after covid postponed our original date of 28.12.2020, we thought moving 12 months would leave us clear of covid worries but it didn’t, the run up to the wedding was over shadowed by the possibility of another lock down! The wedding team at Coniston were truly amazing at keeping our worries at bay. We had several guest unable to attend due to covid on the day of the wedding and the team at Coniston took it in their stride, altering table plans and seating plans without a worry to me or my husband. The room was dressed amazing, all of our guests comments were positive, the service of the food and drinks went without fault, it was clean plates all round. The venue it’s self is spectacular & to go down to the lake for photos was a dream come true, overall this is a fantastic homely venue to celebrate a very special day

One of the best days of our lives!

We knew when we met Sharon and Emily that we were in safe hands and within the right place to start the rest of our lives together.
They provided so much help and support in the build up to, the night before and the night of the wedding.
Our wedding day was beyond perfect, there isn't enough superlatives to express just how much we loved every minute of the day. We only wish that the time didn't go so fast, so we could enjoy it that little bit longer.

Best weekend of our lives

We booked our wedding quite short notice and from the first meeting, the hotel were completely confident that everything we wanted was possible, and they were right! Every request was dealt with straight away and seamlessly. When we arrived the day before, we had a warm greeting from every member of staff we saw. Sharon was our coordinator and master of ceremonies on the day and she cannot be faulted at all. She had a knack for not being noticed but turning up at the exact right moment to ensure the day ran smoothly. And even kept a calm face when she turned up to my room when it was time to go and I wasn't ready!
Every single member of staff made us both feel like the most important people in the world throughout the whole weekend and we cannot recommend the Coniston Hotel enough. Thank you to everyone we met for making it the best weekend of our lives. Especially to Sharon and Nathan who were absolute stars on the day, we cannot thank you enough!

Fantastic staff and service at a stunning location

Wow, what can we say, our dream day at our dream venue. Coniston somehow manages to capture the elegance of a luxury wedding and venue but with such a laid back and relaxed atmosphere, it’s perfect. We had so many comments from our guests at how well the day flowed, the superb food, the excellent service and the warm laid back atmosphere.

For us personally, during the planning stage, no question was too small or silly for the wonderful wedding coordinators, they answered every one for us and I really felt at ease with all the arrangements.

If Coniston are on your short list then please go and visit and book, you won’t be sorry, fantastic staff and service at a stunning location, what more could you wish for?

We will always be forever grateful

We chose to get married at the Coniston Hotel due to the amazing location, rustic feel and beautiful scenery, however what we did not initially realise was how fantastic the Coniston Hotel team would be and how our wedding day would be classed with the upmost importance by each and every member of the team.
The wedding team, initially Sophie and then Helen were so genuinely lovely and made sure that all of our special requests were facilitated seamlessly both prior to and on our wedding day. Nothing was too much trouble and the attention to detail regarding every aspect of the day was a testament to Helen and the entire team. We feel very privileged to have got married at this perfect location and the excellent service provided by the entirety of staff made it even more special. We cannot even begin to thank you all enough and would like to let everyone know how much we appreciated all of you help, support and hard work.

say I have never visited a more beautiful location

I would have to say I have never visited a more beautiful location and would highly recommend to anyone to have their wedding at The Coniston Hotel.
The images on the website are stunning but seeing the place in person is where you will know for sure that its the place for you! The grounds are beautiful and the view of the lake and the valleys from Huntsman's Lodge is breathtaking!

Thank you for helping us to achieve our dream

What can we say. When we sat to write this it became apparent just how wonderful our wedding was because we just couldn’t find the words. From the moment we arrived the day before to the second we packed and left we felt so so special and looked after. The wedding itself was one that I think many people will long remember and that is thanks to you, your team, and of course the rest of the hotel. From the food and it’s exceptional service right through to your help at every step it was what we dreamt of but much more. Thank you for helping us to achieve our dream ..... and sorry for being a control freak ??

We can not thank everyone enough

The first time we ever visited the Coniston Hotel we knew it was the wedding venue for us. From the setting, to the staff, to the food, - everything was amazing! From day one Sharon and the wedding team were so welcoming and just couldn’t do enough for us! They completely took away any stress and made everything on the day run so smoothly. Everything was perfect on the day

“As soon as we saw the venue at Coniston Hotel we knew that it was the perfect setting for our wedding. The scenery around the Hotel is amazing and we knew that it would be amazing to celebrate here with our family and friends.
Everything was perfect on the day, Sharon and her team ensured that no stone was left unturned in our preparations leading up to and including the big day. Nothing was too much trouble for the team and everything we asked for we got.
We love this place and couldn’t recommend Coniston Hotel highly enough
