We had our wedding here in June and it was a wonderful day because we have wonderful friends and family, it was brilliant having everyone together and the other suppliers were great.
We had booked Ox Pasture after our first venue became unsuitable.

They do have some very hardworking staff, who are obviously trying to keep things afloat in difficult circumstances. The grounds are beautiful, just unkempt.

When we initially booked I queried the pricing with the owner Shaun as it was obvious there was no clear pricing structure. He sent an absolutely appalling email back to me. Ultimately saying our old venue was garbage compared to Ox Pasture. If this is the way he speaks to a customer holding a wedding here, I can only imagine how he speaks to the staff.
We went through 3 contacts at the venue, Claire (who left a few weeks prior to the wedding), Kia (who was sacked the day before our wedding) and Lynsey.
We had been told we could set up the day before but none of the decorations from the previous weddding has been cleared away. The tables weren't ready for me to put down my decorations. Lynsey ultimately told me to calm down but did nothing in the way of helping the situation. I was chasing her to prepare the top table for about 2 hours, so that we could be done and enjoy the rest of the evening.

On the day of the wedding the groomsmen had to put the chairs outside (and back inside), the ceremony ran half an hour late due to the venue. I was about to walk down the aisle with my mum when Lynsey approached me and said that she had organised the confetti throw for the front of the property. Going against what I'd discussed with the venue, to have the confetti down the aisle. I complained about this at the time and she did not take no for an answer.

Other things of note: the bridesmaids had to tell people where the reception drinks were in the absence of staff, guests received incorrect desserts, guests only received one glass of wine with the meal when we'd paid for two (embarrassing that we looked so stingy).They didn't play our song to introduce us to the room. We didn't have WiFi or phone signal so I couldn't coordinate with suppliers. They wanted us to pay to use the spa when we'd spent thousands on a wedding booking. They ignored all my emails in the week before the wedding. They didn't have a record of our (bride and groom) room booking a week before the wedding.

I do believe in speaking to the company first before leaving reviews. I sent them an email a week after the wedding with feedback and this was ignored.

It is unfortunate that they give the impression that they can take on wedding bookings when there are a lot of issues that need to be addressed. For reference, we had just under 70 guests. Please disregard this venue for your wedding day.

Ox pasture Hall did a fantastic job in helping us organise and execute the day.
From champagne arrival, set outside to take advantage of the unexpectedly good weather to the beautiful grounds.

The dovecote suit venue is perfectly sized and the waiting staff did a great job of serving food promptly and efficiently. The even coped when 2 vegetarian meals were requested last second!

The food was delicious and the space was set up brilliantly.

All in all, I'd recommend ox pasture to anyone and everyone.

Stayed here for one night for a friends wedding. We had a lovely room at the rear over looking the lake.

Room was spacious clean and had a modern bathroom. Bed was very comfy.

The food during the wedding was one of the best cuts of meet I've had at any venue. Breakfast was very nice too and cooked to order meaning it was fresh.

Bar staff were efficient and prices reasonable.

Wow. Where do we start?! From the moment we first ever saw Ox Pasture we knew it was our dream place to get married.
It was literally the perfect day! Our room was beautiful, along with all our guests, the reception room was just as we imagine and all the staff did an amazing job helping to make it the style we wanted. The food... the food was literally the best we have had at any hotel/venue & I've stayed in 5 star hotels... all our guests are still saying how amazing the food alone was... and this is 2 months later! We were lucky enough to be able to get married outside under the gazebo & it was like we were getting married in Italy, the scenery & layout of the guests seating was just simply beautiful. The whole day was extremely relaxing, enjoyable & beautiful.
We will be visiting just to have a cup of tea and some lunch in the main hotel restaurant as the food in there itself is amazing... the visit is worth the 280 mile trip we can't wait to go back! I can not recommend Ox pasture enough. Please, please please if you are looking to get married here then go for a visit & I can guarantee you will book. truly a lovely.

We got married at Ox Pasture last month, the beautiful setting and gorgeous venue made our day truly perfect.
We would highly recommend to couples wanting a beautiful venue who want to create a unique wedding (there is even room for helicopters to land, if like my husband,you want to arrive in style!)
We had many guests comment on how good the wedding breakfast was & in fact all the food we have experienced at Ox Pasture has been superb.
Our suite was a really gorgeous room and situated at the back of the property, very peaceful also.

We recently stayed in this beautiful hotel for a friends wedding.
Was very impressed on arrival with the hotel and it's impressive grounds. We were greeted by the General Manager who was very friendly and inviting.
The wedding went without hitch and was just beautiful. The staff were very busy but nothing was too much trouble for any of them and I have to commend them on their impeccable service.
We were so impressed with the hotel, grounds,food, service and staff that we have decided to make a return visit.

We got married at Ox Pasture at the beginning of August. Had the most amazing day , the staff were amazing and catered to all our needs. The grounds were beautiful, rooms were fantastic, clean and spacious and the setting is perfect for any wedding . We even took our family dog with us , I can't thank them enough as we were made to feel like we were the most important people there during our 3 day visit. Everyone commented on how nice the food was , breakfast was lovely as kept me going till the wedding .
We highly recommend and will be visiting again soon .

We recently had our wedding reception here and we couldn't of asked for anything more perfect!! The layout & food was fantastic. A massive Thank you to the staff for been so friendly and such a big help on the day.

We stayed here as a friend was getting married here. It's a beautiful venue for a wedding, the grounds are picturesque with lovely views of the North Yorkshire moors. The room we were allocated was comfortable, clean and well-appointed including a spacious modern bathroom. The afternoon tea is delicious and good value for money.

We've just spent two nights at Ox Pasture for our best friends wedding and it couldn't have been better. The rooms were spacious, luxurious and clean and the food delicious.

I spent the first night sharing the Brides suite which was a brilliant size for a bridal party to get prepared in and for the second night the staff moved all mine and my little girls stuff over to my other room for me. They stored my daughters milk in their fridges and put up with our constant questions. They were a cheery bunch who loved their customers, I overheard a conversation at reception where they were saying how much they would miss an elderly couple who'd stayed a few weeks.

We had plenty of time to set up the wedding venue the night before and basically were given carte blanch as to what we could do.

The bar area was a lovely relaxed area to socialise in for the evening.

The wedding, which went without a hitch, was in the excellent barn venue and beautiful gardens, we were lucky enough to have a lovely sunny day so the wedding was outdoors under one of the gazebos and guests were able to wander the gardens into the evening.

Overall we had a great time and would recommend for a stay, wedding or other event.

We had a very nice stay for a wedding . The rooms and grounds were lovely and food and service first class The hotel was within easy travelling distance to Scarborough but hidden away in lovely countryside

We found Ox Pasture Hall online when we were searching for wedding venues and when we visited it was exactly what we were looking for. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and special.
The day itself went without a hitch - the weather was gorgeous so we were able to have the ceremony and drinks reception outside. The Dovecote suite would have been great to hold the ceremony if the weather hadn't been good but getting married outside surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire view was the icing on the cake.
The food was gorgeous . It was served very professionally and the staff were great. They knew exactly where any guests with dietary requirements were sitting and it went without a hitch. The team in the evening was fab - they were polite and professional and wouldn't let me do a thing - they carried drinks for me and brought in all of our decorations from outside.
The rooms were beautiful. We were in a huge suite overlooking the lake. I would definitely recommend paying for a suite particularly for a bridal party getting ready - there was plenty of room!
Overall the wedding day was perfect - we couldn't have asked for more. I'd recommend the hotel to anyone and I'm sure that we will be returning.

What a pleasant place this is, the location is an eleven out of ten and the staff could not have been more helpful. We attended a family wedding and had to bring two of our dogs due to a lack of suitable K9 sitters. The hotel had no problem with this and keeps specific rooms aside for owners holidaying with their pets. Glad to say that you could not tell that dogs were allowed in our room, it was spotlessly clean plus the views were gorgeous. The food was great and we left relaxed and happy the next day.
