The Parsonage Hotel and Spa resides in a building that was originally built in the 1840s. This structure still maintains many original features as well as an elegant blend of modern amenities that are crucial for wedding celebrations. For those with a keen eye for historic fixtures, you're in luck at this hotel. Your big day at this property can begin with a ceremony in the picturesque Castania room, or why not think about St Helens Church located next door to the hotel?. Once you've tied the knot, you and your loved ones can gather in the large conservatory and gardens. During the summer months, this spot is ideal for photo opportunities next to blooms as well mingling in the sunshine. Here, you can raise a toast to new beginnings and your love story as the sun sets over the British countryside, after a drink and canapes your wedding breakfast will be served in the glamourous Crystal Suite. Complete with panoramic vistas of the gardens, this spot is great for dining with a view. Evening Receptions can then follow in the Crystal Suite. Here, there is ample space for seated guests, a dance floor, and live entertainment. Additional facilities at this hotel include a spa, an indoor swimming pool, and more.

Best day ever!!
Our wedding at The Parsonage was absolute perfection, from the stay the night before all the way through to waking up the morning after.
From the moment we booked the venue we had the best service from the wedding team.
Questions were always answered quickly and promptly helping us feel at ease and as stress free as possible during planning. The wedding coordinator on the day was great and kept us to timings, making sure we fit all of our plans in to the day. We would 100% recommend The Parsonage as a wedding venue, without a doubt!!

The best wedding venue we could’ve wished for
A wonderful wedding day
The Events Team are professional, knowledgeable and experienced. They listened to what we had in mind for the day and guided us through the process. I was able to contact them when I had any queries without feeling a nuisance and they responded quickly and helpfully. On our wedding day everything was just as we had asked for and they were behind the scenes making sure everything was going according to plan. The Events Team made the whole experience from start to finish as stress free as possible.
We were married at the Church next door so had only a few minutes’ walk to the hotel after our Wedding Service. On arrival we were all guided to the Conservatory overlooking the beautiful grounds where welcoming drinks and the most delicious canapes were served to us on the terrace. Guests could chat, children could run around in the very safe gardens, and we had our photographs taken in lovely grounds.
The wedding breakfast meal was superb with food cooked to perfection and the room was laid out beautifully. Our guests couldn’t have been more complimentary about how beautiful it looked.
Later in the evening the DJ recommended by the hotel entertained us. I had produced a list of songs I wanted to be played, which happened, but also he added music which fitted the mood. We couldn’t have been happier.
Most of our guests stayed the wedding night in the hotel and were very pleased with their rooms. My bride’s room the night before was lovely and was of a good size to accommodate myself and my bridesmaids in the morning to get ready and drink champagne.
Breakfast the following day was of a very high standard with the service again being excellent and some of our guests took advantage of the hotel’s pool and spa before leaving.
The Parsonage Hotel delivered for us on our wedding day to the best of standards and I would thoroughly recommend it for any couples wishing to marry in the York area.

Louise and Kate are always on hand to answer questions and settle any nerves/worries you may have.
The choices appointment is really helpful, you go through the whole day and Louise offered suggestions if we wasn’t sure on anything.
On the day everyone was absolutely amazing, not one member of staff had a frown on their face, everyone was so helpful and attentive making the day flow seamlessly.
The hotel and grounds are beautiful for photos, and the fireworks through their recommend supplier we’re amazing!
All of the food was lovely (not that I got chance to eat a lot unfortunately!) we upgraded on most things but it was definitely value for money!
I cannot recommend The Parsonage enough, I wish we could do our day over and over again as it was perfect 🥰
The only downside was that guests had to use the bar in the reception room which was obviously decorated ready for the wedding breakfast. So guests saw that room prior to us actually going in there. It’s not the end of the world but it took some of the surprise out of that part.

Amazing special day
We got married in the August and visioned our wedding photos to be full of greenery from the gorgeous gardens. The pictures did not disappoint as the gardens were immaculate and so well maintained.
The whole day ran smoothly with excellent service from all the staff involved.
The food on our wedding day was gorgeous with loads of compliments from our guests.
The parsonage will hold a special place in our hearts.
