The Wedding Breakfast
We offer total flexibility for your wedding breakfast. It can be provided by our preferred local caterer Karen Rhodes who offers fabulous contemporary and quirky menus. Alternatively, you can use your own choice of caterer or something a bit different like a hog roast or a food truck!
The attractions of a wedding in Cartmel include the opportunity to marry in the spectacular Priory situated in the heart of the village. The Reverend Nick Devenish welcomes couples to marry or to receive a blessing in the Priory whatever their beliefs, whether Christened or not and even if they do not regularly attend church. It may also be possible for couples who do not live locally to marry at the Priory.
Cartmel Old Grammar is a short stroll through the picturesque village from the Priory. Guests can walk to and from the venue in only a few minutes with the bridal party perhaps arriving in style in a horse drawn carriage drawn by Cartmel's famous Black Fresian Shire Horses.

Stunning Wedding Venue in the beautiful village of Cartmel
We attended a friends wedding at Cartmel Grammar 2 years ago and I have been raving about it ever since! The venue itself is absolutely stunning, with a terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens, where we had drinks in the sunshine before dinner. We stayed in one of the rooms overnight, which was modern and extremely clean. Breakfast was a delight and the staff were so friendly. I would definitely recommend the venue to friends and family, particularly if it means I get to have another visit!Sent on 01/02/2021

We got married here in 2018 and it was a great venue. We were married at Cartmel Priory and we were an easy five minute stroll away. The rooms we stayed in were stylish, modern and very clean. It was a sunny day and the terrace was lovely, overlooking the gardens and a great view over the racecourse and fells. There was also loads of space for parking, which really helped a lot of our guests. The staff were all friendly and helpful and everything went perfectly on the day. I would happily recommend Cartmel Old Grammar.Sent on 03/06/2020
