Among its many attractions, Cartmel Old Grammar offers you the opportunity to marry in the 800-year-old Cartmel Priory under the care of Reverend Nick Devenish. Here, you can opt to marry or receive a blessing no matter your beliefs or where you are travelling from. Guests can walk to and from the venue in only a few minutes.

Alternatively, the house is licensed to hold a traditional wedding service within its historic walls or a bespoke ceremony outside for up to 75 people. Whichever you choose, you will have exclusive use of the entire property, including twelve luxurious bedrooms, the Georgian dining hall, reception rooms, and two private bars. Outside, a large south-facing sun terrace and formal gardens offer a complete setting for a picturesque country wedding.

We offer an exlcusive 2 night wedding package, granting you access to the venue from 2pm the day before until 12pm the day after. Throughout this time, the team will be on hand to give you any assistance that you may need to make your special day run seamlessly.

Having owned a restaurant previously, owners Lauren & Greg work in harmony with Head chef Jack Buckle to produce a delicious selection of wedding menus. We work closely with each individual couple to provide a bespoke service and provide catering to suit all weddings, from 3-course formal wedding breakfasts to street food, pizzas and grazing tables in the evenings.

Tastings are available once weddings are booked however we also serve lunch to non-residents at our hotel if you'd like to sample our delicious food.
