Your wedding day isn’t a photoshoot — it’s a beautifully chaotic, joy-filled, slightly teary, cake-on-your-face, tie-around-your-head, dancing-your-heart-out kind of story. It’s the deep breaths before you walk down the aisle, the inside jokes during the vows, and that one friend who absolutely owns the dance floor.
My job? To capture all of that.
I’m calm when things get a little wild, attentive when you need a steady presence, and quietly in the background when the magic is unfolding naturally (not in a weird hiding-in-the-bushes way, promise). I’ll step in with guidance when you need it, fade out when you don’t, and believe me — I will spot anyone trying to hide at the back of a group photo (a bit like Liam Neeson in Taken… but friendlier).
It’s your day, and my aim is to make it feel easy, natural and fun from start to finish.
Photography by Michelle Jane is all about a relaxed, documentary style. I focus on real moments, genuine emotion, and all those beautiful in-between glances you didn’t even realise were happening. No awkward posing. No forced smiles. Just you — being you.
That said, I know how important group photos and couples portraits are. I’ll gently organise family shots so they’re efficient and stress-free, and we’ll set aside a little time for relaxed couple portraits. Nothing stiff or staged — just natural moments together while you soak it all in. And if posing feels a little daunting, don’t worry. I’ll guide you in a way that feels comfortable and effortless… you might even end up enjoying it!

The Photographer Who Went Above and Beyond! ✨
I knew I wanted our photos to have a really natural, candid feel. I didn’t want everything to feel posed or staged, but the funny thing was, I wasn’t actually sure what specific shots I wanted. Michelle completely took the reins and somehow knew exactly what to capture. She gave us the most beautiful, natural photographs that genuinely feel like us.
Michelle was so on it throughout the entire day that I could completely relax and enjoy myself, knowing she was capturing everything. She fit into our wedding party so effortlessly that it felt like she was one of the guests just one who happened to have a camera and absolutely no fear of heights! 😂 She was standing on chairs, balancing on stools and quite literally pulling out all the stops to get the perfect shot. Her confidence, energy and bubbly personality were such a huge part of the experience.
She also did an amazing job of putting the groom at ease, which was no small achievement considering he wasn’t exactly thrilled about having his photo taken! She made everything feel relaxed and natural rather than awkward or forced.
We haven’t received our full catalogue yet, but we had a sneak preview of over 50 images in less than 24 hours, and they are honestly incredible. If those are just the sneak peeks, I have absolutely no doubt that the full gallery is going to be worth every second of the wait.
Michelle is worth every single penny and more. Her talent is outstanding, but just as importantly, she is a genuinely gorgeous human being who brought such a lovely energy to our day.

After having a call to introduce ourselves, it quickly became clear that Michelle’s friendly nature and her approach to wedding photography was aligned with exactly what we were looking for. Michelle recently shared the highlight photos - and wow, they are stunning! Although this is just a small selection of the final album, we’re really confident that Michelle has absolutely nailed the brief of natural shots capturing authentic joy.
In the lead up to the wedding, Michelle was really great at communicating with us, meeting virtually to run through the order of the day, discuss the few group shots we wanted and any specific details we wanted capturing. This was really helpful so we all were on the same page and it was also nice to get to know Michelle too, so we felt at ease by the time we met in person.
On the day Michelle was brilliant. She made us feel really comfortable and relaxed, and her experience with pinning buttonholes was invaluable! We never felt rushed, and we had the space and time to have some quiet moments as just the two of us, whilst we could rest assured that Michelle (accompanied by her husband also taking photos) was busy taking care of capturing everything else.
Michelle’s creativity really shines through in her work. We were unsure whether a confetti shot would be possible, and the same was true of a big group photo of all our guests - but Michelle made them happen, with great success too. We also enjoyed escaping for a while to take some photos in a nearby crescent and park, and the results look incredible.
The whole experience working with Michelle was superb and we felt she played a huge part in how much we enjoyed the day. Both Michelle and her husband were lovely people and a lot of fun, so it was fantastic to see them enjoying themselves as well. This is something we think helped all our guests feel comfortable with them both too.
We’re really excited to see the rest of our photos and feel so grateful that we trusted Michelle (and her husband) to capture our special day. We would highly recommend Michelle to anyone!
From the moment we booked Michelle, we knew we’d made the right choice. We first had our engagement shoot in Manchester City, and it was absolutely incredible. We gave Michelle a rough idea of the style we wanted, and she took it from there. She knew all the best spots, made us feel completely at ease, and the photos turned out even better than we could have imagined. Our wedding day was no different. Michelle was simply amazing from start to finish. She made the whole experience so much fun and felt more like one of our guests than our photographer. From the beginning, her communication was fantastic. She was always quick to respond, happy to answer any of our (many) questions and nothing ever felt like too much trouble. Michelle was invaluable in helping us refine our schedule and prepare for the day.
On the wedding day itself, Michelle was simply incredible. She didn't just capture our day, she became part of it. She brought so much warmth, humour, calm and care throughout the celebrations that it felt like having another friend there rather than someone we had hired. She was helping with dresses, chatting with guests, keeping everyone relaxed and somehow managing to be everywhere at once without ever feeling intrusive.
As a couple where being in front of a camera doesn't come naturally, Michelle immediately put us at ease and made the whole experience feel comfortable and fun. We never felt awkward or posed and she somehow managed to capture us exactly as were are (with a quick hop over a fence to keep it interesting). Unfortunately, the weather meant our ceremony has to be moved indoors. But Michelle took everything in her stride and made it work beautifully. She was determined to help us get the photos we had hoped for and made sure we still got the outdoor shots we wanted.
When we look through our photos, what stands out most is how perfectly she captured the feeling of the day. The warmth, emotion, excitement, joy and wonderful chaos of our wedding was all there. Every photo feels authentic to us and full of life, we couldn't have asked for anything more.
We feel incredibly lucky to have found Michelle and will treasure these photos forever. If you're considering booking Michell, do it, you won't regret it.

As a very nervous bride, Michelle had such a calming presence and immediately put me at ease. On the day itself, she was everything we could have hoped for and more – relaxed, friendly, and completely non-intrusive. She captured so many special moments without keeping us away from our guests for very long, which was really important to us.
Our guests all commented on how fantastic she was – she never stopped taking photos and made everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera. Somehow, she even managed to get the full attention of the wedding party during the speeches, which in itself felt like a miracle!
Michelle truly was a godsend on the day – so helpful, organised, and calming throughout. If you’re looking for a photographer who brings a chilled, unobtrusive vibe while still capturing every important moment, she is the one. Not only is she incredibly talented, but the energy she brings is exactly what every bride needs.
