The Birds & The Bees is a UK-trained Independent Wedding & Funeral celebrant with National & International experience. Based in Cumbria close to The Lake District, Northumberland & County Durham I am more than happy to travel anywhere in the world to ‘Bee’ your celebrant.
Inspired by a genuine affinity for people, I am devoted to creating alternative, heartfelt ceremonies that reflect a couples unique love and journey.
My services are Ideal for those seeking a ceremony with a difference such as adventurous elopements on a fell or in a woodland, perhaps tipi or barn ceremonies, weddings at home, destination weddings and all other events whether in the warmth of a luxury hotel or the comfort of your own back garden or an airbnb. No matter your background, culture, or beliefs, my goal is simply to give you the freedom to choose the right kind of celebration for you based on my many years of living abroad, my diverse work history and experiencing love around the world.

The Birds & The Bees offers a very personalized service for wedding ceremonies and vow renewals predominantly across the North West, North East, The Borders, Yorkshire / Lancashire and happy to travel all over UK and abroad.
With extensive experience working with clients and wedding planners across the UK & Dubai, UAE, I invite you to join me for a detailed consultation where you can share your thoughts, desires, and hopes.
From here, I will create and choreograph an entirely custom celebrant-led ceremony. You can opt to include a variety of symbolic elements such as sandblending, handfasting, or a candle ritual to name a few and of course, Family members and close friends are also welcome to participate in the event. (Couples must take care of their legal registration of marriage with a statutory registration at the register office ideally before your Celebrant led wedding ceremony although post ceremony is permitted, language will be written accordingly for ceremony. I have also worked alongside the registration service on occasion for those couples who desire their legal ceremony to be held on the same day as their celebrant led ceremony where budgets allow)

The first time we met in person was an hour before our wedding and we instantly felt like she was a family friend or relative, she shared in our excitement and greeted us like an old family friend.
Kerrie’s service was like nothing we had ever experienced, it was totally personalised, inclusive of everyone in the room and she has a real talent for making everyone feel part of the ceremony with her little personalised touches.
Our son, who doesn’t have the greatest track record with weddings 🙈 said that “the lady made me feel interested”, I can’t express how highly this praise should land!!!
Our 83 year old beautiful Flower Granny said that she had never witnessed anything so beautiful in all of her life!

The lovely Kerrie officiated as the celebrant on their special day. She delivered a personal service that was full of warmth, gentle humour and love. Above all she managed to bring that extra sparkle to the day. A magical presence that exudes a quiet confidence of a truly professional and calm celebrant. I know Jenny and Luke chose well. They loved every minute and will always cherish those memories. Kerrie spoke like she had known them for years and I can assure you there was barely a dry eye between the smiles during the ceremony.
My grandson, only three, became an integral part of his parents special day and was welcomed and included in every part of the service. I have never attended a celebrant service before and I can honestly say she bound the couple together beautifully and united the guests from across the world. Different cultures and different religions bound together in happy unity. Thank you Kerrie we loved every minute.

Truly one of a kind ⭐️🐝
Our ceremony was completely bespoke, deeply personal and utterly us - and that is entirely thanks to Kerrie. She treated our ceremony with such gentleness and love, thoughtfully incorporating the most delicate and meaningful details that meant so much to us. Knowing that she even wrote parts of our ceremony under the light of the moon beside a beautiful lake makes it even more magical and special to us. We had a beautiful hand-fasting ceremony, and Kerrie surprised us with a beautiful piece of rose quartz for us both to hold.
What made that moment even more powerful was something Kerrie couldn’t possibly have known at the time. One of our guests has a deep and personal connection to rose quartz through her late mother (my husband’s grandmother). Kerrie had placed the piece of rose quartz beneath a random chair at our ceremony, so a guest would find it and be able to be a part of our ceremony. She had unknownly placed the quartz under my husbands Aunties chair, and in that moment it felt like a sign that she was with us in pure energy during our ceremony. It was such a moving and unforgettable experience. It brought my husbands Aunt to tears.
Kerrie didn’t just officiate our wedding - she brightened it. Her warmth, care and calm guidance made the ceremony feel intimate, emotional and unforgettable. She understood us completely and captured our story in the most beautiful way.
Communication with Kerrie before, during and after our wedding was absolutely flawless. We always felt supported, listened to and truly cared for. We honestly could not recommend her highly enough.
