Perfect Wedding venue

We recently got married here and Kayleigh and the staff were so lovely , scenery was stunning for pictures and set up ran super smooth.
Food was delicious but drinks were a little pricey
We would recommend this beautiful venue for your Wedidng , rooms were clean and beautiful, small updates needed in some but still recommended

Thank you for making our day so enjoyable and special. Everyone made us feel very welcome and it was the stress free day that we wanted. The food was delicious and our lovely waiter made it an experience we will never forget.

There are no words to express our gratitude to the staff of Holbeck Ghyll for giving us the wedding weekend of our dreams. It really was absolutely perfect! We highly recommend this lovely country house to anyone, who is looking for a cozy and luxurious getaway, where customer focus, beautiful rooms, excellent food and a gorgeous location are the main ingredients, that they are looking for! Thank you so much for making our daughters wedding a truly special day. You all made us feel welcome. The hotel rooms were fabulous and the view breathtaking. We were looked after so well by all of you. On the wedding day itself everything went according to plan. Thanks to Rebekah for all your hard work, thank you to Nigel who even helped Rachael to fix her dress!
The meal was delicious. Attention to detail in every aspect was 10/10 you should all be proud of your fantastic hotel and staff

Amazing Wedding

We held our wedding at Holbeck Ghyll on the weekend of 7th March and took the venue over from the Friday to the Sunday. It was absolutely perfect. The staff could not have been more helpful and I had to do nothing more than hand over my decorations on the Friday and let them get on with it. Gregory, the events planner, was brilliant. Any queries, no matter how small would be dealt with quickly, including a slightly random email at 11pm asking for details of the available rooms for the weekend! The food was delicious and dietary requirements were no problem and remembered without any questions. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough.

Fabulous they made our wedding celebration extra

Many of these reviews will already (and rightly) tell you how wonderful this hotel is. The rooms are of the highest quality and all individually furnished. The ambience is positively magical, the spa facilities are excellent for a small hotel and the food is worthy of a Michelin star (accompanied by an excellent wine list). The views over Windermere and the Langdale horseshoe officially rate in the top twenty views in the world. All this is well documented and absolutely true. We are sure that the vast majority of people who stay at this wonderful hotel will return - we certainly will. We also want to congratulate the hotel and all the staff on the amazing job they did in hosting our wedding on 12th December. Our wedding (26 people in total) spanned two days and all our guests were accommodated at Holbeck Ghyll. Every single one of our guests waxed lyrical (still ongoing) about how amazing the hotel is, how great the food was, how stunning the views are and most notably how wonderful the staff were. Everything we asked the hotel for was organised for us with military precision. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt like VIPs.The staff were AMAZING - the most competent, professional, engaging and friendly brigade it has ever been our pleasure to meet (and we have stayed in some very good hotels in our time). To all the Holbeck team- Alison and I wish to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being so wonderful and for helping make our wedding celebration memorable for all the right reasons. Thank you all.We will see you again very soon - we are already looking forward to it.

Fabulous!!

What can I say about Holbeck Ghyll...totally fabulous. Having stayed here in January my now husband and I decided to get married at this idyllic venue. Apart from actually deciding to tie the knot, it was the best decision we have ever made! From start to finish our experience was outstanding. The service by all departments was truly amazing, from housekeeping to reception and from the bar staff to management. Karen, the events organiser at the hotel had amazing attention to detail and made the whole planning experience a delight. On the big day all the staff attended to our every need and nothing was too much trouble. The food was top class... Beating (to us) the likes of Gordon Ramsay and other Michelin starred restaurants.... Not an easy feat when catering for 50+ all at once. All our guests had an amazing time and commented on the standard of food, the staff and the rooms. We would highly recommend Holbeck Ghyll for a couple retreat or for a larger function.... You won't be disappointed. We would like to thank Andrew and Karen for all their hard work in making our experience to magical and to all the other staff for all their hard work.

A perfect wedding in a perfect venue

Holbeck Ghyll is a wonderful place to get married. The preparations were effortless thanks to the help of Karen.
On our arrival at the hotel all the staff went out of their way to help. A particular mention to Philip and Chris who were exceptional on the day. On the morning of the wedding, the flowers were delivered to the room so I could check they were ok, then they waited as I filled out cards and happily delivered the button holes and corsages to the guest rooms. There were offers of escorting the bride, organising canapés, music during the ceremony and the cake. This hotel stands out as it has impeccable service, combined with fantastic food, a lovely suite, beautiful scenery, and a sunny weather on the 1/11/11 all made for the most memorable and wonderful wedding. Thank you all. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for an intimate wedding, its perfect.

If there were ten stars we would give them

A perfect wedding, from beginning to end. The planning with Karen was so easy, everything went exactly to plan. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff are attentive charming and human! Our guests who stayed for two nights as well all had a marvellous time and could not speak too highly of everything. Food amazing.

Outstanding team and service

We just wanted to say thank you all the staff at Holbeck Ghyll for what was for us a truly wonderful stay and wedding day. Our expectations for our actual wedding day were surpassed. The food was magnificent, the staff wonderful and even the sun shone!

As soon as we visited the hotel we knew it was the one! Karen, the Wedding Co-ordinator guided us through every stage of the planning and the team on the day (especially Philip) were outstanding. In short, the food was sublime, the service exceptional, and the location perfect. You won’t get a better setting anywhere! We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending, Holbeck Ghyll to others. What sets it apart is the attention to detail, the ability of the team to accommodate your wishes and be flexible, to create your dream day. Nothing is too much trouble.

We will definitely be staying again and look forward to returning.
