How much do wedding DJs cost in Cumbria?

Outside of big cities in the UK, you can expect to pay roughly £500-£800 for a wedding DJ. This will generally get you around 5 hours of music. Couples on a budget may prefer to hire a student or less experienced DJ for around £300. However, it's important to remember that a student DJ may not have DJed weddings before, and might not know how to pace the night, introduce dances, make announcements, and so on.

How many songs should I give my DJ for my wedding?

How many songs you give your DJ is completely up to you. However, keep in mind that although it's your night, not all of your guests will share your music taste, and an experienced DJ will know how to select a mix of songs that will appeal to everyone. We recommend giving your DJ a list of 10-20 songs and letting them choose the rest.

Is a live band or a DJ a better option for a wedding?

Both live bands and DJs have advantages and disadvantages. A DJ can offer a wider variety of music, and will take requests, which bands don't always do. A DJ is also generally cheaper than a live band, and takes up less space. However, a live band can offer a more energetic and interactive experience, and a good band will bring an atmosphere of fun and excitement to your event. If you have the budget for it, you could even opt for both a live band and a DJ. They often complement each other well.

Ryan was polite, helpful and professional from my initial contact to the end of the night. Ryan responded promptly and helped with suggestions in arranging our big day, making the process much easier and less stressful. I had two possible first dance songs, unable to make a decision, Ryan combined the two making for the perfect first dance. On the night everyone commented on how good the music was, playing songs to everyone's taste, including taking requests. I would love to re-live my big day with Ryan in charge of our soundtrack and would happily book him again.

We hired Simon as a wedding DJ and host, and it was the best decision we made. He made sure we were fed and hydrated throughout the day. He checked in on us on how were doing and updated us on time frames. He had the full day under control, made it run seamlessly and did it with such welcoming and warm vibes. We knew our wedding was in good hands and our guests loved him. He had all our ceremony/day music under control and was very good at judging what was needed for the evening music too and our guest song requests was no problem at all. His communication pre/on/post wedding was amazing and for anyone wondering whether to or not, hire him. He is super caring, pro-active with potential ideas we hadn't thought of and just a genuine nice bloke that wants you to have the best day of your lives. Which we absolutely did!
