Your ceremony is the heartbeat of your wedding day.
It’s the moment everything begins — when everyone gathers, laughs, maybe sheds a few happy tears, and truly feels what the day is all about.
I’m Melly, an independent celebrant creating joyful, heartfelt wedding ceremonies that feel relaxed, meaningful, and completely personal to the two of you.
Couples often come to me because they want something real. Not stiff, not overly formal, and definitely not a generic script. They want laughter, genuine emotion, and a ceremony that feels warm, welcoming, and full of life.
That’s exactly what we create together.
I take time to get to know you properly — your story, your quirks, the little things that make your relationship tick. From there, I craft a completely bespoke ceremony that reflects who you are and the life you’re building together.
One of the wonderful things about celebrant-led ceremonies is the freedom they give you. You can include whatever matters most to you — from spiritual or cultural elements to symbolic rituals like handfasting, wine or gin blending, or something beautifully unique to your relationship.
At the heart of it all is your story: the adventures, the everyday moments, and the reasons you’ve chosen each other. The result is a ceremony that isn’t just witnessed — it’s felt.
The kind that has guests smiling, laughing, and saying afterwards, “That was so them.”
Based in the South West and always happy to travel.

Hi, I’m Mel — a celebrant who cares deeply about creating ceremonies that feel like you.
Not performative, not full of tradition for tradition’s sake… but something honest, personal, and meaningful in a way that actually lands.
I’m naturally quite a calm presence (the kind people often say helps steady the nerves), and I bring that into every part of the process — from our first conversation to the moment you’re standing together on the day. I’m often told I’m a brilliant listener — someone who picks up on the emotional undercurrents as much as the words — and that’s what helps me shape ceremonies that feel quietly, deeply right.
I’ll spend time getting to know you properly — not just the big headline moments, but the quieter details, the dynamics, the in-between bits that really tell your story. That’s where the magic tends to live.
At home, life is beautifully simple — I share it with my two favourite companions: Andy, and Percy, who is much hairier but equally adorable.
I also have a bit of a contradiction in me — for someone whose job involves standing up in front of a crowd, I don’t actually love being the centre of attention. I’m much more at home facilitating and holding the space so you can shine… although, if you asked my friends (and Andy, my two-legged other half), they might say I still carry a bit of ‘main character energy’.
And at weddings, it’s the subtle moments I’m always drawn to — the pause just before someone takes a breath, the look on a partner’s face when they see each other for the first time, the ripple of emotion through the people who love you, or those perfectly unplanned moments (like an “I absolutely blooming do” landing mid-vows).
Couples often tell me it feels less like “working with a supplier” and more like having someone in their corner — gently guiding, listening, shaping things with care, and making sure the ceremony feels grounded, inclusive, and completely your own.
If that resonates, we’ll probably get along really well.
