A great venue with such a wonderful team who made the wedding a success! Gardens were stunning for photos and it was great because the castle and gardens were quiet!

Don't be fooled by the positive reviews on here, as these all refer to a wedding coordinator that is no longer there. We were assigned a new coordinator who contributed 10% to planning and who didn't bother turning up on the day after a member of staff who was setting up our day called in sick. So our wedding was fully set up by one person who had been left on his own before 10+ of our guests had to step in as this still wasn't ready at the time of arrival. (Note, the castle also double/triple booked us so this poor person was having to deal with a half marathon and father's day afternoon teas). My wife and I then had to go around to the terrace to help set up tables during our cocktail hour with more help from our guests. This is a very short selection of a very long list of things that went wrong on the day.

Upon complaining, the 'lovely' chairwoman and trustee who we had the displeasure of dealing found every excuse to blame us without a single apology, made myself and my wife cry during numerous meetings by belittling us, referred to us as 'wound up little toys', talked over and down to us, lurked our social media accounts to keep an eye on what we were posting even though we have said nothing publically about the castle... again, a very short selection of a long list of things.

After 4 months of back and forth meetings at the castle (which was a 100 mile trip for us - apparently the castle isn't equipped to do phone calls or video calls?!), hundreds of emails, us filing a formal complaint and beginning the process of small claims court, we finally received a little compensation. All we had wanted 4 months earlier, the day after our wedding, was an apology and an explanation into what caused this breakdown. This never arrived. No investigation took place. No explanation for what happened. Instead, we were continuously told that all was our fault (and the fault of the previous coordinator who left months before the wedding took place!) The castle, chairwoman and trustees still maintain that there was no wrongdoing from their side, despite them breaking our contract with them, and our compensation was referred to as 'a gesture of goodwill', as they maintain they were in the right.

It has taken a full year for us to feel comfortable enough to speak out about the situation as we have tried very hard to put this all behind us. But we don't want other couples to fall into the trap of this place. Yes, the castle is stunning. The gardens and terrace where our wedding was held was beautiful. But the mishaps on the day and the 4 months of grief we received afterwards tarred our day and it has only just gotten to the point where we can look past what happened. Don't book here until they hire actual competent people to organise your day.

The wedding and events manager left suddenly and since she has left, the castle has gone down hill. No one knows what the other is doing, no one replies to emails or calls, The tea room staff are rude. Weddings have exlusive use and a member of staff have booked other parties in the castle at the same time. Toilets are awful.

We had a fabulous wedding day at Whitstable Castle. Everything went very smoothly and our wedding coordinator Tiffany was brilliant. The food was also lovely.

If you are planning to get married in the area, I strongly recommend Whitstable Castle. Not only is the setting beautiful, but the whole experience of planning and the day itself was just so effortless and stress-free. Every step of the wedding was supported so well. We had really helpful guidance and support throughout the planning process. It literally felt like everything was just being organised for us and all we had to do was turn up. Prior to the wedding itself, the castle hosted several wedding fayre type days, where we could select our florist (I recommend Wild Daisy) and talk to various vendors. It made the whole process very easy. The wedding day itself was a dream. The staff are so helpful and always on hand. The food was also excellent. All in all, a fantastic experience and excellent value. This has proven that getting married in a castle is very achievable and well worth doing. You will not regret it.

We chose Whitstable Castle for our wedding venue as the town and venue are places with special memories for us. The process of booking the day was very straightforward and stress-free and our wedding planner Tiffany was friendly and accomodating to our needs.

The venue itself is picturesque and really lends itself to wedding photos as it has a water fountain, flower gardens, gazebo, etc. as well as the actual castle (which is small in terms of Castle size but very beautiful).

On the day, the staff were attentive and ensured everything went smoothly. Pricing for what we had was very competitive.

Our Twilight package wedding was simply beautiful. So relaxed. Food, wine and music just perfect. Tiffany, our wedding planner, was an absolute star. And such good value. We would absolutely recommend this beautiful venue and wonderful team.

Sensational service from start to finish! I could not have found better! The staff on the day could not do enough for us and they did everything to make the day special. I cannot thank them enough for making our long awaited day super special.

Tiffany and the team made our day the most beautiful ever! With diffulties of planning a wedding during lockdowns and furloughed staff, Tiffany kept us informed every step of the way. Along with advise and planning. We wanted a small intimate and relaxed wedding. Tiffany was a fountain of knowledge and we had every faith in her. It was an amazing and beautiful day! I want to do it again. Wonderful staff and guests were very happy with the food and drinks and overall atmosphere. Keeping the integrity of this beautiful venue.

We could not have chosen a better venue to hold out Wedding at. It was so perfect and such a beautiful setting. The food was amazing and all the staff who were there on our wedding day were wonderful.
