The Wedding Barn at Old Hall is a beautiful Grade II listed Suffolk barn which has recently been restored to its original glory. The main body of the barn provides a picturesque wedding venue, whilst one of its wings doubles up as The Bauble Barn, our seasonal family-run Christmas tree and decoration shop, which was opened in November 2019. Rurally located and nestled next to the pretty village of Steeple Bumpstead, The Wedding Barn creates the perfect backdrop to your most magical and special day.

Facilities and Capacity

Catering for weddings of up to 120 guests, The Wedding Barn offers both indoor and outdoor areas to enjoy - the barn itself can house a ceremony, wedding breakfast and dance floor, with a built-in bar area that leads onto a private courtyard so that the celebrations can continue outside.

The Wedding Barn at Old Hall is a fully licensed venue, and has the capacity to hold civil ceremonies for up to 120 guests and is available for ceremonies held on either a Saturday or a Sunday. Ceremonies take place in the main body of the barn, with its oak beams and magnificent 21ft ceiling.

We are situated within the Parish of Birdbrook and have three beautiful churches very nearby - St Mary’s Church in Steeple Bumpstead, St Augustine’s Church in Birdbrook, and St Andrew’s Church in Helions Bumpstead.

The Wedding Barn at Old Hall can be used as the venue for the ceremony and reception, meaning that you and your guests will not have to travel at all between the two events, making for a seamless and sublime day of celebration and merrymaking! Of course, there is also the option of just using The Wedding Barn as your reception venue only. Fully equipped with a dance floor, and built-in fully-staffed bar, the Wedding Barn at Old Hall really does cover every base so that your special day can be full to the brim with fabulous memories.

Our fabulous bar is the perfect place for your guests to congregate and swap stories about your wedding day. The Courtyard is a wonderful enclosed area for you and your guests to enjoy a post-ceremony glass of champagne, or even a quick breath of fresh air and a rest from the dance floor! If it’s a beautiful day you may even choose to hold your ceremony out here…the possibilities are endless. The dance floor is where the party really starts - and we have a nice big one so that you can all really throw some shapes! The Shepherd’s Hut is our very own Bridal Boudoir. Equipped with floor length mirrors, comfortable seats and a dressing table for those all important touch-ups, this is a serene space for our brides to take it all in.

Services Offered

At The Wedding Barn, they accept a limited number of bookings throughout the summer months so that the space and grounds are allowed to ‘rest’ and not become overused. This makes for a pristine canvas for your wedding day. The hire period is from 9am the day before your wedding until midday the day after your wedding, giving you plenty of time to decorate the space to your heart’s desire.
