We started booking our wedding in 2023 - to have in 2025.
Rio was THE most amazing person too work with. He helped plan, he had ideas we didn’t think of & he couldn’t do enough for us. Rio was one of the main reasons we chose to have our wedding here (along with the beauty of the place), and he showed us how it’s done. He is an absolute credit to The Solent Hotel & Spa, we are sad it’s all come to an end, as we saw Rio as a friend aswell as our wedding co-ordinator. He will always be part of our memories anytime we discuss our wedding, he brought excitement when discussing/planning it.

Rio, Sarah and the team at Solent Hotel were so amazing through each stage of our wedding planning process. From answering what seemed like 100 silly question via email to setting up meetings with us at times that worked for us, they were helpful through every stage. We were able to tailor our wedding reception to suit us and felt listened to and understood throughout. The food provided by Solent was 10/10 and we had several of our guests coming up to us during the evening to tell us how nice it was. They were really accommodating of our guests with dietary requirements and disabilities and made sure everyone had a good experience. The quality of the hotel rooms were also beautiful, the suite prepared for myself and my husband was exceptional. Highly recommend Solent to anyone, particularly any anxious or perfectionist couples !

The staff were really attentive, the food was plentiful and delicious, and all the little details were taken care of.

Mark and I were able to relax and fully enjoy our day from start to finish- we would highly recommend the Solent hotel and Spa to anyone looking to get married on the South coast.

We wanted a low key relaxed event, so we opted for an afternoon tea at the Solent Hotel. I can honestly say we were amazed by the value for money and all the little extras that were included that we weren't expecting.

Firstly, the pre wedding planning service from Rio was brilliant, he was able to keep me relaxed, yet excited at the same time. Nothing was too much and he dealt with it all.

Sarah managed the event on the day and again just sorted everything and was so lovely. The waiting staff couldn't do enough for us and our guests.

We were able to enjoy the garden space (the meadow) and as we were lucky enough to have a beautiful warm day, we spent the evening with our guests sat outside enjoying the atmosphere.

We got a complementary overnight stay in a beautiful suite and our cake was kept safe in the fridge and returned to us to take home in the morning.

I couldn't recommend The Solent enough we had the exact day we were after.

We decided to do a small wedding dinner after our registry in Winchester at the Solent Hotel & Spa. We had enquired about a smaller space that we could hire out for the night for some food, drinks, and just a general good time. We chatted with Rio, who invited us to check-out the spaces that they could offer, and he was always on hand to answer our many(!) questions. After deciding which room we'd like most, we got invited in to do a menu tasting, which was delicious!

Our event itself was super smooth. Every event deserves an Ethan running the show. He was so attentive, on the ball, and helpful. He made sure the entire night ran seamlessly, and ensured that myself and my partner were happy.

We ended up getting bar tokens for our event (which worked out the most cost-efficient) and which our guest LOVED (who doesn't love a free drink!) The food was 10/10, and our guests are still talking about the succulent beef that melted in their mouth.

All in all, I would definitely do another event at the Solent Hotel & Spa, and for the guests that stayed at the hotel, they even reserved a large table for us for breakfast the next day which was lovely.

We had the most truly amazing wedding day at The Solent; it was just beautiful and everything we hoped for - and more!

Rio made the whole process feel like such a dream and it felt so special at every point! From the very first time we came in to look around, right up to the big day itself! We felt the service was so personal, we always felt well looked after and supported!

To give a summary, the biggest moment for us was when we walked into our decorated room (both for the wedding breakfast and the evening celebration) it felt like a dream come true! The food was incredible, and all of the staff did a wonderful job in looking after all of our guests! They all said how beautiful the hotel was too! It was just perfect!

What a absolutely fantastic day , from beginning to end.
We booked the Fairy tale package and that is exactly what we got , and then some.
The food, the Carisbrooke Suit, the flowers, the DJ and all the suppliers the Hotel recommended , exceeded our expectations. I would also highly recommend booking the glam room for your hair and makeup, there is loads of room for the Bride and Bridesmaids, and we felt thoroughly pampered with the generous supply of bubbly and food and music in the background (we brought our own play list) whist the makeup and hair ladies worked their magic). Big thanks to Rio and the Amazing staff at the Solent Hotel and spar for making the day perfect.

Had our wedding here and couldn't be more happier with the outcome they gave us, the staff made sure that you had everything and they are amazing with help and advice.

Thank you so much to the Solent Hotel and their staff for organising and hosting our wedding. After being told by so many people that planning a wedding was one of the most stressful experiences they have been through, we can honestly say that thanks to the Solent Hotel, the whole process was a breeze from start to finish. Everything about the day was incredible and so many of our guests commented on how relaxed and friendly the atmosphere was throughout the day. The catering staff did an amazing job with the food and T'Anna, who ran the day for us, couldn't have been more helpful.
The ceremony was beautiful, we went for fairly minimal decoration in terms of flowers but the staff made the room look incredible never the less. After the ceremony the staff got to work in readying the room for the reception and we were all given time to enjoy the beautiful hotel and it's grounds. Plenty of photo opportunities. The reception in the was equally amazing, with the hotel working seamlessly with our suppliers to make sure that everything was set up in good time. Again, the food was incredible and there was plenty of it! The hotel's resident DJ, Steve had everyone up dancing and played every one of the songs requested.
A massive mention to our wedding planner, Rio, who helped us plan the whole thing in the year leading up to the big day. Neither my wife or I are particularly traditional or formal so we were a bit anxious that our fairly laid back attitude towards the wedding might be a shock to him but Rio offered amazing advice throughout and nothing was too much trouble. He always had a smile on his face and was quick to answer any questions we had. He is a massive credit to The Solent Hotel and we cannot praise him and thank him enough.
