Discover the historic Standedge Visitor Centre, a unique grade II listed wedding venue situated in the heart of the leafy Pennine Hills at the edge of the National Park.

A wedding at Standedge is truly magical. The 250 year old canal side setting provides a blank canvas venue split across three floors suited to any style of wedding.

You can choose to arrive by boat to your special day with everything on one site. You have exclusive use of the entire building and grounds which are licensed for your ceremony to be held on any of the three floors of the building and the also the garden and grounds. You and your guests can move seamlessly between levels to your reception, dining and evening celebrations.

The visitor centre is home to the North of England Centre for Music & Arts, a not-for-profit community interest company. The Arts Centre is available as an Exclusive Wedding Venue on a limited number of dates throughout the year with revenue from the events going back in to the centre to support our work with community arts.

As you might expect we are very well connected for arranging live musicians, bands and music of all kinds. From a string quartet to add a touch of class, a brass band in the grounds to set a traditional mood, a solo violinist to serenade your guests, a ceilidh band to get everyone dancing, a jazz band just to be cool or a funky wedding party band to lift the roof.

We can arrange quite literally anything you like for your special day.
