We had the most wonderful wedding day at the mercure Hawkwell House although we booked at a difficult time just after lock down and when the hotel was in the middle of a refurbishment the staff did there upmost best to accommodate us which was one of the reason we decided to choose this as our venue beautiful grounds and decor through out..we chose deans events to dress the room it was beautiful! The events planners.ox who made us an amazing balloon arch and welcome sign who...food was delicious and there was a great choice and plenty of it! We went for the buffet option and it really worked well for us,staff were lovely malcolm was amazing! And made sure the day ran smoothly nothing was too much!

Deanne and the venue itself were INCREDIBLE from the very start. We had challenging circumstances and they went above and beyond for us - couldn’t fault a thing.

We had an absolutely perfect ceremony – the room looked beautiful, and everyone thought the whole Bodleian was absolutely amazing. You and your colleagues were really helpful and patient – thank you for that. You also made everything very straightforward in the weeks leading up, and you offered a great deal of help and advice, for which we are very grateful. We’re so pleased that we had our ceremony with you. It was the absolute highlight of the day and it was so very special to have it at the Bod, with all the memories that we have of it. Thank you. I got married here last year and had a magical day. Service was amazing - I couldn't have asked for more!

We really did have such an amazing wedding - words really cannot express. So many people said that it was the best wedding they've been to! It was absolutely perfect. Thank you so much! I think a big part of the fun of it all is definitely all the preparation and we loved working with you on it and all our visits to meet with you. We're sad it's all over!

The Hall looked absolutely magical, an enormous thank you for everything you did to make the day so perfect. The food was delicious, the hall was beautiful and all staff were so incredibly helpful, friendly and enthusiastic. We had a really wonderful day and everyone else had a great time too.

What a wonderful place for a wedding the Oxford spires was. It was always our day, not what they would do. The wedding co-ordinator, Fiona was so helpful nothing was a problem for her. The toastmaster was so helpful and made the day run smoothly, even helping the young photographer who was the daughter of the best man. The wedding breakfast meal was wonderful, the food was so good. Being able to not stick to one set meal helped the day go fabulously.The evening was well run too, having our own separate bar. The buffet was fabulous too with food keeping on coming. The bedroom was special too. They could not have done any better

My brother was married here with approx 20 guests. The food and service excelled. The staff could not do enough to help you. The venue is superb. The cost was not a much as you may think when compared with other lesser venues. Definitely worth considering
