You know when you just have that great feeling about somewhere? To put this into perspective:
We had arranged our wedding very quickly due to cultural beliefs.
As we were driving to Over Barn to view it for the first time. I was asked by my now Wife, whether or not it was the right day. In my head "of course it is, i booked it" but paranoia got the best of me. We pulled over and checked the date for the appointment. I had clearly got it wrong.
I convinced my wife that don't worry we'll go see the venue anyway, worst comes to worse they say no and that we have to be turned away.
When we got there we asked to see Sam, a wedding was being setup for the day. Sam still took the time to explain everything to us and was very patient when answering our questions even though he probably had a million other things to do. When we looked inside we fell in love.
A beautiful barn that had been restored perfectly. It has a balcony part over the bar area, the upstairs is perfect gor reception drinks. This leads into the bridal room. With sofas and large area enough for the the bride and her bridesmaids and the mothers to get ready in.
We looked at each other after we had looked around and pretty much said to each other that this was the one.
We would love to give some personal shout outs to the people at Over Barn:
Sam, your ability to put us at ease when we had one million different questions and concerns is truly amazing, your fun, positive, and easy-going nature made working with you such a lovely experience.
On the day of the wedding your clear leadership and your calm but confident team management skills showed as each member of your team had the same approach. You can see the dedication Sam has as any requests made on the day was met with "yep, we're on it" or "absolutely". Sam was always extremely easy to get in contact with on the day of the wedding. Thank you for walking me through how things would work in the morning with the registrars. It was a detail I had mostly forgotten about.
You made sure that the day went of without a hitch and for that we are extremely grateful. Without your hardwork I don't think our wedding would have been as amazing as it was 🖤.
If you could thank Christine as well. She let us know some really important information and moved some stuff when I was panicking on the morning.
Thank you to the staff that made the turn around from the ceremony to the breakfast quick and easy.
Josh, the food was amazing. We couldn't have asked for more. We obviously loved your food on the taster day, but your skills as a chef really showed on our wedding day. People were raving about the food. With food being such a big part of both mine, Hannah's and our families life. We appreciate the effort into making each dish. Thank you for the bigger slice of Sticky Toffee pudding, probably one of the best ones I have ever eaten. Which is a feat in itself as it is my favourite desert.
Your catering team that helped out on the day were brilliant. I loved their honesty, if they didn't know something they would go back and double check to make sure which is greatly appreciated when the tables have different dietary requirements.
Josh and the team put their food out very quickly, do not mistake this as rushed. As the presentation of the food looked sublime and the quality of the food was top notch. We can't wait to come back to Over Farm and eat more of your food.
Cameron thanks for making sure that Sam's hardwork and standards was still maintained in the evening. You are and the bar staff were amazing and extremely quick to respond to our guests.
Jacob, thanks for being patient with us whilst we worked out the financial side of things.
Yet again, thank you all for ensuring our day was such an incredible and calm experience for us. We don't have anything bad to say about the venue or overbarn itself. 🖤💙 -

When we got engaged, Over Barn was always at the top of our list for wedding venues. With the personal connection of working there when I was younger, we knew it was the venue for us. The beautiful rustic and relaxed vibe of the barn was definitely what we were after. In the lead up to our big day the team, but especially Jordan, made sure our vision was met as well as keeping us calm. The day itself was magical and ran so smoothly. My wife had one special request, of being photographed with on of the venues tractors. The venue made this happen and the photographs of this are incredible. We would like to give a special shout out to Jordan, Josh, Vick and Danielle for honestly giving us the best day of our lives. Thank you to everyone at Over Barn who helped run our day, it was perfect. We would definitely recommend Over Barn for any couples looking for a venue to host the most special day! -

We recently had our wedding at Over Barn and couldn’t be happier with our experience. From start to finish, the team went above and beyond to make our day truly special.
A huge thank you to Josh, our wedding event manager, who was incredibly organised, calm, and supportive throughout the entire process. He made everything feel effortless and ensured the day ran smoothly from beginning to end. We also want to thank Jordan and the rest of the team at Over Farm. Everyone was friendly, professional, and a real pleasure to work with.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning, full of rustic charm, beautiful lighting, and flexible spaces that allowed us to personalise the day just the way we wanted. We also had the pleasure of working with their onsite decorator Krista, who was fantastic. She really listened to our vision and helped bring it to life in the most elegant way.
The catering was perfect for our relaxed, informal vibe. We opted for a casual-style pizza buffet with no formal seating, and it worked brilliantly. The pizzas were freshly made, delicious, and a huge hit with our guests. We also had cheese boards available, which were beautifully presented and complemented the food perfectly.
What really sets Over Barn apart is their affordable and flexible approach. They genuinely care about making your day work for you and your budget, and they offer a range of options to suit different needs.
We wholeheartedly recommend Over Barn and their amazing team to anyone looking for a beautiful, down-to-earth, and well-run wedding venue. Thank you again to everyone who made our day unforgettable! -

We had the pleasure of attending this well known local venue as a Husband wife photography team for a wedding held in February. The Venue is really conveniently located in Gloucester and well presented by a friendly team dedicated to providing couples with a dream wedding experience.
The venue offers a great starting point for those who wish to add their own Decor, making it well suited for those quirky crafty weddings we love. There is ample opportunity to create a really unique experience here. The wedding we attended had a Viking/Pagan theme which worked really well in the space. A perfect venue for an axe exchange ceremony! Over Barn also allow pets onsite for a wedding day, so no VIPS have to miss out on your special day :)
The locally based couple picked this venue because they felt very comfortable there after visiting so many times with their children. Over barn is very child friendly, for weddings planned with lots of children in attendance it is ideally equipped with everything needed to keep them happy throughout the day like a skittle alley, a menagerie of resident animals and easily accessible onsite accommodation for midday meltdowns.
The bar offered a good variety of drink options at very reasonable prices, keeping the big kids happy too. This wedding was self catered so we can't comment on the venue's food offering other than to say that the quality of the award winning Over Farm Market is outstanding, with many of our local favorites from Tubby Tom seasonings to Cherry moo ice cream.
The 19th century barn itself has lots of beautiful rustic character, even in February all of the the spaces were kept warm and comfortable with a super fast turnaround time from ceremony to reception with space for 120 people with tables and 180 without. The lighting provided a wonderful ambience for the band to perform and without the tables there was ample room for guests to dance.
As photographers the venue offered us plenty of different backdrops such as the iconic Over Barn door, the steel sheds for a modern feel or the farmland itself. There are many more to be explored such as the woodlands and animal encounters, with a continually changing aesthetic throughout the seasons we cant wait to return to capture more beautiful memories here!

Magical wedding venue!
A stunning space on its own, full of character & plenty of charm! Super chilled vibe allows you to do what you’d like to personalise the space, with as much or as little input as you need from the venue.
A well run staff who really helped make the day run smoothly and meant there was no need to worry so we could just enjoy our day. Super dog friendly space too!
The bar is really well stocked and they were able to cater to requests for toasts. The outdoor space is simply brilliant, giving everyone a space throughout the day. The use of the bridal suite was great, made even better with the new addition of a toilet. The bridal suite allowed us to keep things close to hand and meant you were never far from the action!
The opportunity to have the space for two days allowed us to really personalise what we wanted, making our celebration day just that, a celebration and good party!
We really couldn’t have had a better day, thank you so much!! -

Wow team Over barn! It was an incredible day.
We fell in love with Over barn as soon as we went to view it last October. There is no other venue like it full of character with it’s beautiful wooden barn features and charm to the fairy lights that made the evening all the extra magical. We could not recommend this venue enough.
Wow team Over barn! It was an incredible day. You truly are amazing! From start to finish planing the day all the staff were absolutely fantastic. Sam over saw all the booking/meetings at the venue pre wedding to discuss ideas. Nothing was to much trouble always taking the time to answer all of my hundreds of questions. Josh from catering at Over was fantastic took time to create us a bespoke menu arrange all of the extra bits we wanted for a more afternoon tea style relaxed feast! Food was 10/10 every single guest commented on the delicious food and presentation. Nothing was to much trouble with Josh sorting and providing food to suit all of our guests dietary requirements. Evening food we had pizza/winter bbq which went down a treat. With some of our vegan guest commenting it was the best vegan pizza they had ever had.
The whole team on the day went above and beyond for us and our guest super friendly and caring individuals who genuinely seemed interested and willing to help all day and night. They made sure i always had a drink in hand and they did a fantastic job making sure every detail happened according to plan. From lighting of candles to the table change around early evening. All stress free we didn’t even have to think about it on the day.
We planed the wedding start to finish in 5 months and went without a hitch! Over has a brilliant store of decorations that can be hired that we used. The skittle ally and outdoor games went down a treat with our children and other younger guests. We wanted a veune our children could also enjoy and the outside area of over was perfect. Kids could play inside and out knowing we could shut the gate in to the courtyard it felt safe for our children to play in and not going far out of sight.
You guys really and truly go above and beyond when it comes to wedding expectations.
For anyone looking for a venue that is intimate, stunning and takes as much stress out of the planning process as possible, I cannot recommend Over Barn enough!
