Clifford Barton wedding June 2021
Beautiful venue with flexibility to host the wedding beside the lake, under an open fronted barn or in the main wedding barn. Venue owners remain flexible so that choice can be made relatively last minute. It is an all weather venue. The Kabin in the woods was wonderful for the bride and groom to have their honeymoon suite away from it all but remain close to family and friends. Gavin and Vicki work tirelessly to ensure that things run smoothly and offer different seating, benches, tables, hay bales, games, fire pit, endless fairy lights and are on hand which is reassuring. The bar options worked well and the caterers had no problems running the kitchen from a catering tent placed at the back of the barn. To be able to book accommodation for 20, then in addition have bell tents available was amazing. A wedding and a relaxing holiday all in one. This venue is value for money, tailor your day to your needs but don't lose sight of the fact the setting is both natural and stunning. No need to dress it up too much. Highly recommended by all.Sent on 01/07/2021

Idyllic venue for your special day
Clifford Barton is a beautiful venue to get married at with stunning views wherever you look, and a really tranquil vibe.
We married under the Bridesmere Bridge which overlooks the pretty lake surrounded by lush green Devon countryside.
The sun shone, wild flowers bloomed all around and for us it was a perfect day with our 29 guests.
Vicki and Gavin are incredibly kind, thoughtful and flexible and helped us adjust our day when Covid restrictions were implemented, even though it was all so new for them too.
We would highly recommend Clifford Barton for you special day and I’m sure, whatever the weather, yours will be as perfect as ours!

Great venue, a little pricey
I would recommend this venue to anyone, because it is absolutely beautiful and the lake is stunning and the accommodation is great quality. The owners are very friendly and seemed to be willing to tweak things (especially with all the covid restrictions) and help you make your day as you want it and we ended up having a wonderful day next to the lake.
However, I would warn that you would need to be willing to pay a lot of money for the lake and a few walls. Even though the customer service was great and the owners were very friendly face to face, when reading the contract we found it is very strict and made us feel that we could be penalised at any time even though on the day it did not seem so. Furthermore, they do not provide or include any of the usual wedding attire you would expect such as tables and table cloths and cutlery, the bar service and the accommodation is not included in the venue hire price and all sorts of other things that we did not realise until after we signed the contract and found out it would cost a lot of money on top of the venue price which is quite high to start with. If you are willing to spend around £10000 or more just for the venue, accommodation and usual venue attire, then it is perfect. We were actually relieved when Covid restrictions meant that we were not allowed to stay at the venue or use the barn because the owners then offered us an alternative deal which cut our venue costs to a third of what we were initially going to pay.Sent on 27/07/2021
