Set on the River Lea in East London, Barge East is a truly unique waterside wedding destination combining a 126-year-old Dutch barge, a sister floating venue, and expansive riverside gardens and terrace spaces. Together, they create a flexible multi-space venue that allows weddings to flow seamlessly between water, land, and open-air settings all in one location.

At the heart of the venue is our beautifully restored barge, offering an intimate and atmospheric setting for wedding celebrations of around 80–100 guests. Across its multiple levels, the space transforms throughout the day: from arrival drinks on open-air decks overlooking the canal, to a seated wedding meal in the warm and characterful lower deck and canopy, and finally into an evening celebration complete with DJ setup, lighting, and a full dancefloor. The flow of the boat allows each part of the day to feel distinct while remaining connected in one continuous experience.

Alongside the barge, our riverside gardens and terrace offer a lush outdoor extension of the venue, perfect for welcome drinks, outdoor ceremonies & receptions, or festival-style celebrations. With greenery, dedicated bars, food packages, and flexible open space, it is ideal for couples looking for a more outdoors-focused wedding or additional areas for guests to enjoy throughout the day.
