Fantastic venue and staff

From our very first enquiry the staff at The Arts Pavilion couldn't be more friendly, helpful and flexible to help us pull off our perfect day. They were a pleasure to deal with throughout. The venue itself is stunning, with natural light bursting through the big windows and the water outside reflecting on to the ceiling. We sat 120 people very comfortably for dinner and had more for post meal dancing so it would accommodate most large weddings. We were lucky enough to have it booked for a sunny day in early May, so our guests spent lots of time after the ceremony in the lovely outside green space that comes with the venue.

Hidden gem of a wedding venue

This is an incredible venue for a wedding. It features a single long curved 'room', one wall of which is a row of windows overlooking a picturesque pond and park. There are a couple of swans that nest there and at the time of our ceremony, there were 9 cygnets playing in the water. It was early August, so the area was lush with greenery. The staff do an incredible job of upkeeping the grown around the pond. Honestly, we likely saved the most money on decorations, as there were so few needed - the venue and the view out the windows was more than enough.

To simplify the ceremony and reduce wedding costs, we decided to host everything at the venue - the ceremony, the drinks, the reception and the dance. We used the provided partitions to separate the room into the ceremony and the dining areas, which allowed us to transform the ceremony section into the dance floor in the second half of the day.

Parking is limited to around 12-15 spaces at the front, however, we found that this was not a huge issue, as there was plenty of free parking on the streets around the venue that Saturday. On top of that, most of our guests live near the area, so were able to get there by public transport.

The kitchen is modest, so we would recommend using a caterer who will arrive with the food already prepared, which is what our caterer did. They also set up a tent in the outdoor area, where guests mingled and had drinks.

There are several outlets for electrical setups (decorations, DJ, etc), so we had no issue with custom lighting and music. Our wedding planner, caterers, and DJ checked the place out in advance to orient themselves and the layout of the room. We were also given a comprehensive sheet from the venue staff listing the rules behind decoration, electrics, etc, which was very helpful.

Wedding at Mile End Pavilion

We hired the Mile End Art Pavilion for our wedding day and it was absolutely perfect. The staff were super helpful both on the day itself but also in the run up to the day, letting us visit on several occasions so we could measure the space and look at the facilities available.

We found it very easy to dress the room, putting up the tables and decorations the night before and taking them down the day after with the help of family and friends, and the space was perfect to accommodate all of our guests. We used the island space to serve drinks after the ceremony and the size of the venue allowed us to serve food and have space for a dance floor after

Amazing venue!

This is such a gorgeous central London venue that feels peaceful and in the middle of nature. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting it! Gary, Marie and the team were quick to respond to any queries and the whole process was really smooth. Couldn’t recommend it enough!

Pre-wedding ceremony

We loved this venue. The vendors responded promptly to all of our questions, we were able to come in and view the venue as many times as we needed. We were allowed to bring in our own food, decor, dj etc.
This space really is a beautiful blank canvas.

Personalised, unique and tailored wedding

We got married (unofficially) at The Art Pavilion in August 2025, and can safely say it was a fantastic venue. Whilst it did take a small army to dress the venue on the Friday evening (4 hours is just enough time, but you do need good planning and lots of people willing to be put to work!) everyone commented on how beautiful the venue was and how personal we were able to make it. It is completely dry hire though so you do need to be prepared to buy a lot of decorations and ensure you can hire staff/plates/glasses etc from your caterers. They also provide tables and chairs, but these look like conference chairs so we hired our own.

The weather was great, which helped as the island is a great spot for your post-ceremony canapes but obviously relies on good weather. The staff were generally very helpful, patient with all of our questions and allowed us the freedom to make the day our own. It must be said that the room does suffer from an echo, which can make speeches difficult to hear. Thankfully our band were well equipped to deal with an echoey room, and for the evening we had a silent disco which nullified the echo as a problem. It might be worth considering how you can solve for the echo, given the room is a very large space to try to fill.

Overall, the venue provided a beautiful backdrop to what was a fantastic day, and created something of a unique vibe for our special event. Given the price, the fact we were able to supply our own drinks and catering (with no corkage) and the fact that the venue is such a blank canvas on which you can imprint your own style, we were absolutely delighted we chose to have our wedding here.

A devastating experience - avoid!

We live very close to the Ecology Pavilion and we were excited to book it in June 2024 for our wedding in Sept 2025. The main selling point of the pavilion was the fantastic park view on a large pond outside the big glass windows, and the wooden walkways to have drinks surrounded by gorgeous reeds. When we viewed the venue it was lush and beautiful and full of natural life. (We're local residents anyway and loved going there for walks). By December I noticed the pond was drying out. Over the next 6 months the reed beds dried out, the pond got very low and murky and muddy, and the area became trampled and full of litter. And then they closed off the walkways as they were rotting with big ugly fences. At no time did anyone from the pavilion apologise or even tell us what was happening. Had we not been local residents we wouldn't have even known! We begged them to fix it all, but just got half baked statements about the walkways being sorted at some point over the summer. They claimed the pond was fixed but it was clear there was no water going in, and it looked so so bad that we had to pull the plug and cancel our wedding there.

The area is managed by tower hamlets council who clearly have no interest in sorting it out, and we found them to be at best inept, and at worst rude. They should be ashamed of themselves - what a cruel thing to do to people planning a wedding celebration.

We had planned our whole day around the Pavilion and were devastated to cancel. Luckily we found somewhere else at short notice but it’s cost us a ton of money - significantly increasing our overall wedding spend.

Having seen the state of the park since we cancelled we’re relieved we aren’t getting married there. There are festivals in nearby Victoria Park all summer and there are broken down temporary urinals/portaloos near entrances to the bit of park with the Eco Pavilion that haven’t been taken away for weeks.

The Art Pavilion up the road looks like it’s also suffering from neglect over time - it used to be wonderful and now looks sad and unloved.

Do yourself a favour and spare yourselves the misery of a booking here!

Amazing Wedding Venue - London's hidden gem

We recently had our wedding at the Art Pavilion in Mile End Park and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better venue. The location is absolutely beautiful with the outdoor space having a mini island surrounded by the park's greenery, it felt so peaceful and special, the perfect setting for our day.

The venue is fantastic value for money and offers so much flexibility. The space worked brilliantly for us, and having tables, chairs, and divider boards included made planning and setup much easier. We were also able to hire the venue for the evening before, to set up and reduce stress and save time on the day itself.

The team at the Pavilion were wonderful to work with. Everyone was so friendly and helpful throughout the process, and on the day itself they were absolutely brilliant. A special thanks to Gary, who was always approachable, supportive, and made everything run so smoothly.

Another great bonus was having access to fridges and a freezer on-site. We also hired some fridges but it made a big difference keeping all our drinks cool.

We had the most amazing day and are so glad we chose the Art Pavilion for our wedding. It was everything we hoped for and more — we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful, flexible, and supportive venue for their special day!

Perfect Canvas

We loved having our wedding here. The staff were quick to help us create our dream day. Friendly and very personable. The space is a perfect blank canvas to create and style to fit what we wanted. The floor to ceiling windows added natural light and added beauty to our day.

Amazing experience at the Art Pavilion

Unique venue with a beautiful outside area. This was perfect for our summer wedding and evening reception. The team were excellent both in the lead up and on the day. We loved the fact it was a dry hire venue, so we had the freedom to bring all our own suppliers in, at no extra cost. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely venue, would recommend!

We had a really lovely wedding and had more than enough space for our 180 guests. The Art Pavilion had a helpful team and we had a lot of compliments about the venue. We got to take lovely golden hour photos in the park and overall had a really great time on our wedding day at the Art Pavilion! It was a bit of a push to set up and set down in time, especially as we just did it with our friends and families, but it was manageable and a lot of fun!
