Good afternoon ladies, gentlemen and table 4 !! First of all I must say a big “thank you” to Steve for your kind words and wishes, they are truly appreciated. Although… I need to now lower everyone's expectations for the next few minutes …

Ok, so before I start I think it may be worth a mention that there are going to be several toasts during my speech so could you all ensure your glasses are topped up…and try not to neck the whole lot on the first toast, we're on a budget…MOM.  In preparation for today I spent endless hours looking on the internet, then over the last few days remembered I was meant to be writing a speech (I'm afraid the jokes don't get much better)…I did find one great tip which said “there are two types of speakers: those who get nervous and those who are liars.” *pull on collar, take a drink* I'm fine really!!

Welcome and First Toast  – Gone but not forgotten Right … I'd like to start by welcoming all of our guests; however as with many occasions such as this it's not been possible to have everyone we love here with us today.  My Nan Pat, Granddad George, Uncle Paul, Abis Nanny Jack to name but a few. Could I ask all of our guests to join with Abi and I by standing to toast these special people who are gone but not forgotten.

TOAST – You are not only in our thoughts today but more importantly our hearts.

Thanks and Welcome

Now, onto you lot… It honestly makes me the happiest man alive to be able to stand here, in front of you all, our closest friends and family and say on behalf of my WIFE and I (that has a nice ring to it … My WIFE and I) Welcome to our wedding, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being here and sharing this special day with us.

Seriously without you all I do not think this day would have been possible. Thank you to all of those who's generosity has helped fund this Ludacris event.  A special Thank you to Dawn for making all of our wedding stationary, you have a true talent and have helped give our day the special touch it deserves.  (Remember 25% commission on any leads from today).

Thanks to the In-Laws

Abi has been lucky enough to have been brought up by 4 loving parents. Eve, Brian, Steve and Debbie, thank you all for accepting me into your lives so quickly. It's a common saying ‘we live in a small world’ and this is certainly true in our case. I remember meeting Abi's mom for the first time and her saying my face looked familiar and once I said I was a Whiffin she nearly pushed me out of the car … I wouldn't have blamed her.  After recovering from shock she explained that she knew my Dad and that she and Steve went to the same school, so I'd better look after Abi or she would tell my Dad…Needless to say I was fully warned.

Eve and Brian thank you for putting up with me every weekend wondering around your house in my boxers and stealing your food, Steve and Debbie thank you for the 3 course dinners, endless family parties and entertainment … but most of all … Thank you all for raising such a wonderful daughter.

Thank you to my Parents

Now, I can't let today go by without thanking my Mom and Dad for their love and support over the years and for welcoming Abi into our Family.

I know it's hard to believe, but I haven't always been this handsome, swerve, sophisticated, athletic, intelligent, dashing, (I could go on) son you see before you today. Over the years my mom and dad have helped me more than I deserve.  Mom, Dad thank you for everything, I really could not have asked for a better Mom and Dad, I love you both dearly.

In fact without both sets of parents I do not think today would have been possible, so please can you all stand, raise and glass and Toast to our Moms and Dads

Toast – To our Moms and Dads

The Bride

Well…I suppose I should say a few words about the lady to my left. Ladies and gentlemen the star of the Show! Abi, my Wife. I can honestly say that Abi has been dreading this part of my speech … and so she should!! No seriously although I have been winding her up for the last few weeks I honestly do not have a negative word to say, Abi you are my life, my world and I could not be without you.

Abi and I first met in our local night club ‘Trinity’ … both not being ones to let our hair down very often; it's needless to say that we both got absolutely smashed!! We ended up on our own, on the dance floor throwing whatever shapes we could come up with. As I am a well renowned dancer Abi could not resist the moves I put on her, which literally consisted of me grabbing her bum and not letting go!!

When the lights came on, I thought ‘get in, she's fit’ and I quickly asked for her number. The next day I checked my phone, nothing!! I thought ‘she was probably too good for me’ so dismissed the idea of getting in contact…and that was that, the dream of seeing this gorgeous girl again was over…Until…

Unbelievably, when coming home from the cafe in town on the morning after I saw her pass me … and being so swerve , I txt her… I said ‘not going to say hello (smiley face) …I know, I know genius. I think it was the smiley that did it as 7 years later she stands here as my wife today. It seems we were certainty meant to be

Abi, I love you entirely. You have always wanted to be a princess and today you truly are. You look absolutely stunning, and I am sure everyone here will agree you make an amazing bride … All please rise and toast to the beautiful bride

Toast – To Abi

Bridesmaids and Ushers Kaylea, Vicky no matter what Lee said you make wonderful bridesmaids … I'm kidding Vicky don't hurt Lee. Seriously you both look very beautiful today and I feel very proud to say you are my sisters. I love you both. Lee you look great, what's that age old saying “you can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter” … Sorry mate your arms are getting way to big so I had to take the attention off you somehow.  Chris you look a new man in that suit, I couldn't ask for a better brother. You have a heart of gold and I know Abi loves you dearly. Thank you both for your help today, you have had one of the hardest jobs rounding up this lot but thanks to you it's been a hit…

Now … Moz … First of all Thank you for agreeing to be my Best Man. I honestly didn't realise how big of a task it was to be someone's best man. Drinking loads, going abroad, sunbathing … I really don't know how you've done it.  On a serious note though thank you for looking after me in Magluf and making sure I wasn't abused in any way (odd look to the lads). Those of you who don't know Moz he is one of the most genuine, chilled out, laid back guys I have ever met, he is a great  friend and am honoured to have him as Best Man. All please can we stand (Last one I promise) and toast to the Ushers, Bridesmaids and Best Man.

Toast – Ushers and Brides maids and Best Man

Speaking of the Best man, I forget to mention he is also a compulsive liar so whatever stories he has concocted over the next couple of minutes, I will be glad to rectify later. It is with great trepidation that I now hand you over to the man himself.. Mauricio…!
