Natural, colourful wedding photography for couples who don't like posing! Purple Kite Photography owner Sarah, based in Hertford, Hertfordshire, specialises in relaxed, documentary-style photography - telling the story of your day unobtrusively, capturing the big moments and all of those gorgeous little stories in between.
Once the day is over, all that is left of your incredible wedding are your memories - and your photographs! Sarah loves being able to document the raw emotions and excitement of a wedding day and takes pride in delivering beautiful images that you will cherish for a lifetime.

How Sarah works:
Purple Kite Photography is built on a genuine passion for telling visual stories. Your wedding day is all about you, so I work around your plans, capturing moments as they happen, offering a relaxed and natural style, and capturing authentic emotions whilst blending into the background. And I won't be taking you away from your guests for hours to take endless gimmicky posed shots.
I'm a hopeless romantic, so you might well catch a beaming smile on my face or tears in my eyes during your wedding, and I make no apologies for it. I want you to know that I am as invested in your wedding as you are, and you can trust in my warm, calming personality and gentle guidance to achieve stunning images of you both feeling relaxed and looking gorgeously happy.
I always meet the couple in advance of the wedding day if possible. Remember, your photographer will be shadowing you throughout the day, often from early in the morning whilst getting ready, so it's vital that you get on well! It's also helpful to chat about what you'd like from your photographer on the day and to create a list of essential photos and important people in advance of the day to ensure that all of those things will be captured, meaning you won't need to worry about it on the day.
Services Offered
On the day, I start when you want me to, and have a range of packages which begin at 4 hours and go right through to the first dance and beyond, as well as offering bespoke and micro packages! To get a full picture of the services I offer, I'd love to meet for a coffee and begin designing a bespoke package that fits perfectly with your day.
Although I'm based in Hertfordshire, I'm very happy to travel to capture your day!

What does the wedding package include?
Gold package: 4 hours for ceremony, portraits and speeches. Platinum: 8 hours - prep - 1st dance. Diamond package: 12 hours plus an album and prints. Enquire about my micro wedding packages
How far in advance should I contact you?
As far as possible. Though you can always check in with me for last minute availability, you may get lucky!
Do you cover more than one wedding a day?
No
Can you travel?
Yes, hertfordshire and surrounding areas. I'm willing to travel to anywhere in the UK (subject to travel expenses)

My style is very relaxed. I love to capture magical moments naturally using documentary style; I blend into the background and shoot the story of your day as unobtrusively as possible

Sony Mirrorless camera and prime lenses. All images are edited using Lightroom to match my editing style. Retouching is also available if necessary

Lovely wedding photographer
From the moment we met Sarah we knew she would be a great fit for us. She ensured that she understood our requirements for our wedding day and was present to capture every single special moment. For our wedding we chose to have her picture the morning of me getting ready, church, ceremony and reception into the early evening which worked for us. She was great at working the reception, snapping natural and posed shots of our guests so that we had memories of everyone who attended. I liked how she seamlessly blended in with the guests so that you didn’t feel like you were constantly on camera. Would highly recommend Sarah.

Captured our Wedding perfectly!
From our initial meeting Sarah’s professionalism shone through! Everything we asked, she did including coming to my Fathers care home so we could get some shots with him. We are so pleased with our photos, Sarah really listens to the kind of style we wanted and 100% captured every aspect of our perfect day, I cannot recommend enough! Perfect photos, perfect photographer!!
Sarah was exactly what any bride would want, from first contact to speedy delivery and quality of photos. She helped make our special day (Aug 2025) even more special. It was easy to arrange to meet up to begin with. Communication thought was responsive and helpful. On the day she helped organise the guests to get the best shots. The photos themselves are absolutely fabulous. I would not hesitate on recommending Sarah and Purple Kite Photography.

So perfect!
Sarah was the perfect photographer for our wedding day. She made us feel really comfortable, which was amazing as we aren't people who love posing or our pictures being taken! She made sure to capture all the special moments of our day, including all the small details we put time into creating. She was friendly and experienced, and knew exactly where to go and what shots would look good. Our pictures came back very quickly and she even sent sneak peaks for us on our wedding night. They're all gorgeous, and we can't recommend her enough!

Beautiful wedding photos
The photos that Sarah from Purple Kite took of our wedding are absolutely glorious. She really made the most of the venue and colour scheme and the red of my dress pops in every photo. I was very grateful to her for coming a little out of her normal area for me, and her candid, largely reportage style meant that we have a beautiful record of the day without our guests feeling dragged through a photoshoot. She sent us sneak peeks the evening of the wedding, which was so lovely as we were feeling a bit sad it was all over. We had the complete online album just a few days after the wedding and her communication was brilliant throughout.

Amazing experience
We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Sarah at Purple Kite Photography! From start to finish, she was an absolute dream to work with. She truly listened to what we wanted and captured everything perfectly — and more! One moment that really stood out was when she had already packed up her gear, then suddenly remembered a specific shot we’d discussed earlier. Without hesitation, she got her camera back out and made sure we got it. That level of care and attention to detail is so rare and so appreciated. The final photos are stunning, and we will treasure them forever. If you’re looking for someone who goes above and beyond to capture your special moments, Sarah is the one.

Our Wedding
Sarah was our wedding photographer. She planned carefully, took heed of our wishes and turned up where we wanted her when we wanted her. She took many photographs during the ceremony and reception, moving unobtrusively around the room, and produced a portfolio of lovely photographs in a timely manner. I would highly recommend her for this type of work.

Sarah is amazing!
We were recommended Purple Kite Photography by our wedding venue as Sarah had done weddings there before and they could not have been more spot on on the recommendation. Sarah was amazing on the lead up to our wedding, on the day and sending the photo's through after. She was always quick to respond to any questions we had, met with us before the day to go over what we had planned and how we wanted the photo's to look, and sent through the pictures so quickly afterwards. Sarah was brilliant at capturing the day perfectly and we could not be happier with the photo's that we were sent through to us after, I can't wait to get them printed and framed. Simply the best!
We asked Sarah to be our wedding photographer for our small family wedding at Parklands Quendon Hall.
We asked Sarah to photograph before the ceremony, during the ceremony and for group shots after. Sarah was relaxed, professional and made everyone feel at ease from start to finish.
We didn’t have to wait long for the final images ( I even got sent a sneak preview of one that night of the wedding! and when we received them all we couldn’t believe how stunning they were. We’ve shown them to family and friends who all loved them.

So glad we found Sarah (Purple Kite Photography!!)
We had a micro wedding at Hertford County Hall in April. I found Sarah online and her photos were so beautiful and relaxed... so I was so happy when she was free on our date. Sarah is warm, easy going, so professional and turned our pictures around really quickly. The pictures are stunning and already up on our wall. We will definitely book her again for any family events (and we thought we hated having our photo taken!). Thank you Sarah for capturing our day, funny expressions and all!
