About
You're getting married?!
Hi, I'm Jess, a documentary lgbtq+ wedding photographer based in Derby and Nottingham for relaxed and fun couples in love!
Whether it's a quiet one with your nearest and dearest or the biggest party of your life, your wedding needs to be captured!
I want to take photos of your cute little grandmas, faces being blasted with confetti and all your mates having the time of their lives!
Yes, the wedding isn't about the photos but the photos sure are about the wedding - make sure every inch is frozen in time. If not for your great grandkids to say "Jesus, they were pretty damn cool", at least for the best Facebook profile picture you'll ever have in your life.
Because of this job, I've been to more weddings than most people have in their entire lives. For most people, this is your first time planning a wedding -it can be scary and overwhelming but don't worry!
You'll be able to pick my brain, get supplier recommendations and lots of very helpful advice whenever you need! No question is a stupid question. I'm not just yours for your Wedding Day, but I'm here for you throughout the entire planning process!
My shooting style during the legal stuff and earlier parts of the day is non-invasive - I'm not one of these photographers that will interrupt your most intimate moments to tell you to "do it again."
After a ceremony, I coordinate group shots and confetti shots to make sure everyone is warmed up and bringing the vibe. Even though every guest is a stranger to me, it won't feel like it by the end of the day as I make it my mission to get to know everyone a little bit when I get stuck in taking sneaky candids. Recently I was nicknamed "the camera ninja!"
Your wellbeing is my priority and you best believe I will make sure you've eaten something and got a drink in your hand at all times; and then I always insist that you put aside sometime to be alone together - hell, you just got married, go and make out somewhere! After that we can take 15 minutes to get some badass, sexy, power couple photos and I'll be a very happy third wheel.
My favourite way to end a Wedding Day is on the dancefloor - I don't think I'll dance at my own wedding unless there's a camera in my hand! It's the one time of the day where you won't be able to miss me because that direct flash is going to be bouncing round the room and I promise, those photos are going to be epic!
Weddings aren't about archaic traditions anymore - they're about you! I want your photos to be as "you" as they can be, not what your Great Aunt In Law thinks they should be!
Want to get ready together? Yes, let's do it!
Don't want to do posed family photos? Cool!
Don't want a cake? That's fine!
Your Wedding Day is the reflection of your love story and the only day where you get to do 110% what you want, no questions asked.
