Bishop Stortford, Hertfordshire. Owner Sam is an award-winning florist who creates personal arrangements that start with your ideas. She draws on her background in costume and textiles to craft flowers that are unique and meaningful.
Services Offered
At Violets and Velvet Bespoke Floristry, Sam loves chatting with you, tapping into all your ideas about what you want for your big day. She uses your vision as the foundation of the design process, creating a moodboard based on everything you have discussed. Sam then creates a proposal for you. Later on in the process, she finds it very useful to visit your venue to finalise any undecided aspects of the floral design. Sam also gets in touch with you eight weeks before the big day to chat about final details for a seamless experience.

Stunning flowers and beautiful servicec
In our initial meeting, Sam listened to what we had in mind, but also helped us to shape a vision for the wedding flowers that was perfectly tailored to us. Not knowing much about florals, Sam helped us to understand what would work and what we should be looking for. Her proposal was wonderful and we became very excited. The whole planning process was stressless, seamless, and creative - we couldn't have asked for anything more.
On the wedding day itself, Sam arrived early to set everything up and created a beautiful display that fit exactly with our theme and vision (our theme was Midsummer Night's Dream - English wildflowers, summer garden party, whimsical and dream-like). Sam hit the brief perfectly. The flowers were absolutely stunning and the table displays she created made for real ccentr-pieces that elevated the wedding breakfast and atmosphere beyond our dream.
Sam, thank you so much for being part of our day and helping it to be so beautiful. We will remember the day forever, and your flowers will be right at the heart of that. Thank you.

Flowers should provoke memories with the scents reminding us of certain people, places and times.
As a child dahlias were my favorite flower and still are. I would go to the local greengrocers to buy a bunch for my room. They were always tied with wool.
Being a florist is more than a job for me. I didn’t start out as one, although it was always there in the back of my mind, my plan B. I believe you take a bit of knowledge from every job you do and my background in costume and textiles has definitely given me some skills that I use when designing floral arrangements.
Flowers play such a huge part in so many celebrations. Wedding flowers should always be personal and I will always start with your ideas when designing the flowers.
Our naturalistic designs let the flowers speak for themselves and wherever possible we use British flowers, some are even homegrown.
