Perfect venue with 6-star service
We had a perfect wedding day at the Montagu Arms in July 2011. We chose this venue after a long search for 'just the right place' and were so glad we did. Standards are incredibly high in every respect at the Montagu and the whole day was simply perfect. We were hugely impressed and the feedback from our guests was amazing!
The hotel is rightly recognised as the best in the New Forest and its layout and facilities are ideal for a wedding party. We liked that our guests could chose to spend their time either inside in the lounge, conservatory or bar, or outside in the beautiful tiered gardens, on the decking, or at the small tables by the fountain.
The restaurant produced outstanding food and this was backed up by consistently first class service. All the staff were highly skilled, polite and relaxed, and it was a delight to see our guests being served so professionally. We liked that even on tables of ten, the staff teamed up to present all ten plates at exactly the same moment.
The hotel also has an exceptional wedding coordinator, Charlotte Craig. We were in regular contact with Charlotte in the months leading up to the wedding and we were continually impressed with her friendly professional manner, prompt responses, close attention to detail and her following-up of issues.
Overall, this is a superb venue with outstanding staff. There really wasn't any aspect of the day where the Montagu team did not excel. Five stars is really not enough.
