Don’t hesitate!
We had our wedding at The Montagu Arms Hotel and honestly couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful setting for such a special day.
From the gorgeous venue and surroundings to the food and atmosphere, everything felt incredibly special and we had so many lovely comments from our guests about what a wonderful place it was.
Clara was our main contact during the planning process and helped us with all the arrangements and questions in the lead-up to the wedding.
A very special mention has to go to Virginia, who was absolutely amazing on the day. She coordinated everything so brilliantly and made sure the whole day ran seamlessly. She was warm, calm, attentive and always seemed to be one step ahead — we genuinely felt that everything was in safe hands with her, which meant we could completely switch off, relax and enjoy our wedding. We really can’t thank her enough.
All of the staff we encountered throughout our stay were lovely, friendly and welcoming, and both we and our guests felt incredibly well looked after.
After all the planning that goes into a wedding, being able to look back and know we had such a wonderful day means the world to us. The Montagu Arms will always be a very special place for our family now and we’re so grateful to Virginia and the whole team for helping us create such lovely memories.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Montagu Arms to anyone considering it for their wedding. Thank you for giving us a day we’ll never forget -

Well from the moment we walked in we knew this was going to be our wedding venue. Everything was perfect, great communication, fantastic service, food, staff, just everything was spot on. We had the hottest day of the year, but we stayed in a beautiful courtyard room, which was spacious and ideal for visitors popping in and out.. It had Aircon, maybe that was why they popped in ?
Jo Hicks did our flowers and I couldn’t have been more thrilled.

From the moment we first viewed The Montagu Arms, we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a comfortable, cosy venue where both we and our guests could relax into the day immediately. We also loved that it didn’t require endless decorating or covering up, the natural beauty of the venue speaks for itself.
We met Clara during our initial visit and she was instantly warm, welcoming and approachable. From the day we booked right through to our wedding, she was an incredible source of support. No question was ever too much trouble, and she always responded promptly by email or offered to meet us in person if we wanted to discuss anything further.
The pricing is a true reflection of the professionalism of the team, the quality of the food, and the beautiful space itself. Every interaction felt personal and thoughtful. Our menu tasting was a wonderful experience, with personalised menus and discussions about each dish as it was served, which made us even more excited for the wedding day.
The leadup to the wedding was seamless. We were able to drop off all our decor and overnight bags the day before without any stress, and everything was handled with ease.
On the wedding day, the team were exceptional. There were only five members of staff working, but they operated like a team of fifteen. Everything ran so smoothly that if there were any issues behind the scenes, neither we nor our guests had any idea. Multiple guests even commented how fantastic the team was. The team had memorised our seating plan down to the smallest detail, and every meal was delivered perfectly.
We were introduced to a different host on the day, and he was fantastic professional, attentive and seemingly just as excited about the day as we were. We had requested a few small details, such as ensuring one guest’s room was ready before the others, and this was accommodated without hesitation.
One thing my husband particularly appreciated was how the team gave us privacy during the speeches. It made those moments feel even more personal and special.
I would wholeheartedly recommend The Montagu Arms as a wedding venue. The entire team are incredibly dedicated, Clara is a fantastic support from the very first meeting, and the gardens and surrounding scenery are simply stunning. Every detail was thoughtfully managed, allowing us to truly enjoy our day.
And finally, a special mention for the fudge, I still have dreams about this!! -

Quick notes:

- Table flowers were included in part of the package, provided by Jo Hicks Flowers
Before the Wedding.
Clara was our point of contact throughout our planning process. She helped us book multiple visits and meals with our families, as we couldn't help but show them the venue as soon as we could.
The hotel reserved rooms for our guests, prioritising those who had travel down for the day. We also had some unusual dietary requirements, which the staff had no issues about, and they let us add a highchair for our MoH & Best Man's son. We had both Hayloft rooms the night before so that my (now) husband and I could spend the night separately with our Best man and Maid of Honour.
The Big Event
My maid of honour, her son, and I had breakfast delivered in a hamper to our room. this was a lovely touch, as there were pastries, cereal, and fruit (There was probably more than that but it was a busy day!) We had our wedding on a bank holiday Monday, so Clara was not working (we totally understand!). In her place, the lovely Virginia looked after us, making sure that the Oakwood Room was prepared for our wedding breakfast and the garden was set up for our ceremony.
We had a 3rd party vendor provide Chiavari chairs for the ceremony; however, they delivered 1 chair less than we had ordered. I only found out about this the day after from my husband, as he and the staff worked together to keep it from me and find a resolution.
Due to where the ceremony was being held in the garden (right outside the Hayloft rooms), I got ready in my mum's hotel room in the courtyard. Virginia arranged for the photographer and registrars to come to us. When we were ready, she took us through the back of the gardens so no one saw me before I started to walk down the aisle. Virginia also worked with our groomsmen to play music during the entrances and the ceremony.
Our wedding breakfast was in the Oakwood Room. The tables were decorated by Jo Hicks Flowers (part of the package), and we added some 3D printed lanterns of our own making. The room looked amazing, and the food was just as good!
After our meal, my husband and I were whisked away for some more photos while our guests had tea & coffee with cakes, and the Oakwood room was set up for the reception.
The barman, whose name I didn't catch, was the greatest! He had our drink memorised immediately, and our friends took advantage of that fact by getting us drinks all night. We probably made our way through a bottle or two of rum just between the two of us!
The evening went great, we had access to a Bluetooth stereo so we were in control of the music (we probably should have prepared for this better in advance by having a playlist ready, but that is our fault!) We all had a wonderful time dancing and laughing.
All in all, the day went perfectly -

A perfect day!
As soon as we visited the Montagu Arms we knew it was exactly the right place to hold our ceremony. The staff on the day, particularly Virginia, couldn’t do enough to ensure everything went smoothly. We used one of the hotels recommended florists and photographer, and were so pleased we chose people who knew the hotel so well. The room was changed effortlessly after our ceremony ready for our wedding breakfast, and the food was as delicious as it had been at our tasting meeting. I would recommend getting married here to anyone and we can’t wait to go back and visit again. -

Amazing 5*
We got married here on the 10th August 2023 after booking back in July 2022 with Clara. From the first time we visited this place we just fell in love, the hotel, the gardens, the staff! Just incredible. From a little girl growing up i’ve been coming to visit Beaulieu for years and have always loved the picturesque magic it holds, with its horses and donkeys wondering around the cobbled streets! The Montagu has such a warm and homely vibe to it, The gardens are kept spectacular and the staff are incredible! So warm and friendly! Nothing is too much to ask! We wanted a small affair with just our immediate family and it was really important to us to have our dog Logie as our ring bearer, which Montagu was perfect for as their dog friendly! Clara was absolutely amazing from start to finish helping us with everything we needed, Any questions we had were always quickly answered via email and the day ran so perfectly we had no worries all day just pure excitement!! The actual wedding day was everything and more, just incredible. Myself, my maid of honour, flower girl and mum and dad stayed over the night before in the beautiful courtyard rooms which are stunning! and had a beautiful breakfast in the morning in our rooms before My hair and make up artist Olivia arrived around 8-9 to start getting us girls ready! The whole morning was so relaxing and organised, Clara collected everything i had to give to the suppliers when they arrived and my flowers were brought down to me by the fantastic Jo Wicks!!! Highly recommend! Absolutely incredible flower arrangements my bouquet, the ceremony room and the wedding breakfast was out of this world stunning!!!! Also flower crowns for my flower girls wow!!! Had so many compliments on these they were so full and just incredible! From the moment i entered the ceremony room i was just wowed! Looking round at everything we’d been planning for the last year come to life and then the wedding breakfast room which was just even more beautiful. The wedding breakfast food was out of this world, with comments from our guests that the seabass was the best seabass they’ve ever had! The whole day was just everything we’d ever dreamed of and more and were so grateful to Montagu arms for making it such a incredible day and chilled experience for us! We had no worries or concerns during the whole process. We would like to make a special shout-out to Jared who was Amazing waiting on all our guests hand and foot, sorting out the music and having a laugh with us and our guests! You really did help create a great atmosphere throughout our wedding breakfast and was always checking if there was anything more you could get myself and the groom! Ourselves and our guests absolutely loved you and are so grateful you were working on our special day! Thank you! & Matt who keeps Montagu arms gardens so beautiful! What a Lovely guy! He helped my make up artist with her stuff down to our room, and was really welcoming to our guests and gave myself and the groom some seeds to plant in spring which are the same flowers which were in the gardens on our wedding which is so special and we’ll most definitely be planting them! Such a nice touch thank you!! & Clara you are absolutely amazing at what you do, from start to finish you made us feel so relaxed and just excited throughout the whole process THANK YOU. If your thinking about getting married here don’t think twice! The whole experiance was 10/10 for us. Highly recommend!! -

Personal, flawless and exquisite!
Literally the best day anyone could wish for. All our guest repeatedly say it was the best wedding they’ve ever attended.
We come back every year and are always greater with a smile and a warm welcome. -

Just incredible
We booked Montague during the lockdown as sadly our planned wedding could not go ahead due to restrictions. Instead, we had 12 of our family members (and friends via zoom!) for a beautiful, intimate wedding at Montague in Spring 2021.
To say it was perfect is an understatement - we were thrilled with how attentive and organized Clara and the team were. We felt so lucky to be able to go ahead - even with three date changes due to ever changing restrictions, Clara went above and beyond to ensure we had the day we were hoping for.
We went for a 7-course tasting menu, which was incredible. We loved being able to treat our family and spend our money on such an intimate and special occasion.
I could not recommend the Montague Arms enough - our day was perfect. -

My husband and me still think back to our small big day a lot. We celebrated our wedding at the montagu arms in winter with a cosy round of about 20 people. Everything went super smooth. The bridal party arrived with me in the morning and we got room to get us ready before the ceremony in the afternoon, my husband arrived a little later and got a seperate space for the final touches. I really cant fault anything, the communication was great, the drinks reception, the discretion in changing the room for dinner while we settled for cocktails and pictures. The food was to die for, the sommelier did such a great job the wine pairings were superb. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings. On the run up to our wedding we were able to change the menu from pre-existing choices or to communicate preferences to the head-chef; we opted to communicate with the head-chef as the dinner part was the most important for our day (we had no dancing or anything so the focus was really on the experience around the food, wine and company). The head-chef kindly came up with a seasonal menu that matched the feel of our wedding. Even though we didnt have the exclusive use of the hotel we didnt feel like on display. The seperation of areas was done nicely and discrete.
And the next morning we and some of our wedding guests that decided to stay at the hotel went for a really relaxed and well rounded breakfast.
We could not have asked for more and we certainly think this whole day has turned out so much better then what we had hoped for.
So thank you very much again!
Ps. There is some lovely picture spots all around the hotel so definitely let your photographer check the location out. Worth it! -
