I’m Peter Haken, an Oxford-based documentary wedding photographer covering weddings across Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and London.
My approach is calm, natural and story-led. I photograph weddings for couples who want the day to feel real, not staged. No forced posing. No awkward direction. No turning the wedding into a production. Just honest moments, strong composition and images that still feel like your day.
I work quietly and keep things simple. Most of the coverage is documentary, with light guidance only when it helps for portraits, family groups and the practical parts of the day. The result is a gallery that feels stylish, personal and emotionally true to what actually happened.
Photography is now the main focus of the work. I still offer selected film and hybrid commissions for some dates, but more selectively than before.

Absolutely Amazing
100% recommend - just perfect for our day!
He got some incredibly natural shots without us even knowing he was there, even our guests commented on this.
We got our 'group shots' done nice and quickly which was what we wanted, and then he guided us throughout the shots which he thought would be important to get. This was brilliant advice he gave as we had no idea the kind of photos we needed in the morning (father's first look, mother putting on my jewelry etc.). He even took the time to tie my husband's tie!
He also worked really closely with the staff at the venue, making sure he was able to make the most of where we were.
