The Woods at Oakley offers 12 acres of enchanting private woodland for exclusive weddings. Blending natural beauty with eco-friendly values, it provides a romantic backdrop where couples can legally exchange vows beneath ancient trees. With unique accommodation and thoughtfully designed facilities, The Woods at Oakley offers freedom to create your dream wedding. From intimate gatherings to grand celebrations, every couple is guaranteed a truly personal and unforgettable experience surrounded by nature.
Our Story
Our family fell in love with the woods many years ago, making it our home and vowing to protect it, and the wildlife that lives in it. We are passionate about conservation and pledge for every event held that a proportion of the proceeds will be used to replant our trees, which are under great threat from Ash Dieback. Our gift to you is your own tree to plant to commemorate your event and we welcome our couples to visit their tree in the future. So not only are you hosting your event in these ancient woods, you are playing a vital role in supporting the future of our country’s precious woodland and the wildlife it sustains.
The Venue
Nestled in the heart of the woods is the Bluebell Glade, a beautiful open space where you can erect a marquee, tipi or simply dine and dance under the woodland canopy. Just a short stroll along a meandering pathway through the woodland takes you to the Hazel Bower where you can legally exchange your wedding vows in our charming handmade Oak Arbour whilst your family and friends sit under a stunning canopy of ancient trees. And if the trees are not enough to protect you from the elements, we have a bespoke stretch canvas we can erect for big downpours and brollies to share for light showers. On the edge of the woodland is the Oak Grove - an enchanting space where the deer leap and bound from our woods through to the open fields beyond. It is home to our stunning bell tent village, where guests can sleep in canopies under the stars.
Hidden throughout the woods are secret spaces for you to discover - from romantic tree swings, to treetop perches, fairy doors, cosy fire pits, the pixie's playground and mysterious wishing trees we are sure you will delight in finding them.
We have built two stylish toilet blocks sourced from local materials, a charming woodland kitchen fitted with industry standard appliances, have our own pure spring water from the Stonehenge aquifer and electricity in the woods, but don’t expect wifi! We have a list of trusted suppliers who we can wholeheartedly recommend for marquees, bars, catering, florists, photographers, musicians and more but you are welcome to source your own.
Guests are welcome to stay the night in the Woods at Oakley. They are invited to snuggle up in our luxurious bell tents hidden amongst the trees in the Oak Grove or to relax in our beautifully renovated WW2 Nissen Hut on the edge of the woods. Wherever you spend the night we can bring you a breakfast hamper filled with delicious local produce the following morning.
The woods are available for limited weekdays and weekends between the months of May and September. We warmly invite you to visit The Woods at Oakley - perhaps bring a picnic and your dog. We encourage you to spend some time here so you can truly experience the magic of these precious woods.

Meet the team
I’m Lindsay, Director of The Woods at Oakley, and alongside my husband Charlie, we’ve transformed our magical woodlands into an enchanting wedding venue. Our goal is to create unforgettable celebrations while supporting the conservation of the woods, which have been affected by ash tree dieback.
Having celebrated our own 20th wedding anniversary here with a “knot of renewal,” we truly understand what makes a wedding special. There’s nothing we don’t know about this venue it’s our home, our passion, and our promise to help couples create their dream day surrounded by nature.
I’m Charlie, and I live on-site with my wife Lindsay. I look after the woodland and make sure everything is spotless and ready for our couples’ big day. From preparing the tree for them to plant to celebrate their marriage, to putting up the stretch canvas and being on hand for any last-minute problems I’m there to make sure everything runs smoothly.
What I love most is seeing all the preparations come together, it’s such an exciting and magical feeling to know the wedding day is about to begin!
I'm Jayne and I look after all things accommodation here! We have a beautifully restored WW2 Nissen Hut which is including as the couple's accomodation with our Weekend and Weekday Wooding packages (it's also available as an Airbnb!). We also have 5 beautiful bell tents in the woods, which sleep up to 4 guests each. I organise the bookings for these and make sure they look gorgeous for your big day!
