We couldn’t have wished for a more perfect wedding venue for our Viking-inspired handfasting ceremony. Set deep in the woods, the location was truly magical and enchanting, providing the most incredible atmosphere and setting the tone for our entire day.

Being given free rein to dress the woods with our own decorations made the experience even more special. It allowed us to bring our vision to life in such a personal and meaningful way, and the natural surroundings only enhanced the beauty of everything we created.

We also had the opportunity to plant a tree so we can return and visit it in years to come.

The owners were absolutely wonderful — warm, welcoming, and genuinely enthusiastic about our plans from the very beginning. Their support and encouragement made us feel completely at ease and so excited for the day ahead.

It was everything we had hoped for and more, and we will always be so grateful for the unforgettable setting they provided for such an important moment in our lives.

What can I say about this most magical venue?
My husband and I decided to renew our wedding vows with a hand fasting ceremony on our 15 year wedding anniversary but we struggled to find a venue that aligned with what we envisioned - small, intimate, outdoors and sustainable - until my husband came across the Woods at Oakley online and we knew before we even visited it was going to be right for us.
After an online visit set up by Lindsay as I was unwell at the time, we chose the mid week secret wedding package and we were honestly delighted with the creative freedom we were given to make the day unique.
That’s not to say we were alone to just get on with it however, as the help and support provided by Lindsay and the team was second to none even though we chose the most basic package. Nothing was too much trouble, all our questions were answered quickly and Lindsay was around on the day to make sure everything was perfect.
What impressed us the most is how passionate Lindsay is about her woods; you can see they host weddings out of love for the magical woods and not solely for profit - in fact what is made from weddings goes into the upkeep of the woods and we were gifted a tree to plant on our day, alongside a second tree we bought in honour of my late parents.

The Woods at Oakley was everything we dreamed of and more. Our wedding theme was Indian Summer in England, and there was something truly magical about celebrating our Hindu wedding ceremony surrounded by nature. Hearing the birds chirping amongst the trees during our outdoor ceremony was a moment we will treasure forever.

When searching for our wedding venue, we wanted somewhere that could accommodate a traditional Hindu ceremony, including the havan (sacred fire), while also being safe and respectful to the woods. The Woods at Oakley was the perfect place.

From the very beginning, Lindsay, Charlie and their lovely daughter were incredibly welcoming and flexible. They always made time for us to visit the venue and were open to every idea we had, nothing was ever considered too unusual or outlandish! Lindsay and Charlie went above and beyond to make anything we wanted happen, for example we asked for a double seated swing near the wishing tree so our painter could paint us.

From a Back to the Future car, flares, traditional dhol (drum) playing to feeding alpacas at our wedding. The Woods embraced everything that made our day unique. We feel incredibly honoured to be the first Hindu Indian wedding held at The Woods, and we are so grateful that we were able to bring our traditions, colours and celebrations into such a beautiful natural setting.

One of the things we loved most about The Woods was the rescue animals living on site. We enjoyed meeting them during our visits and feel so lucky that we got to meet Mango, the sweetest Shetland pony, before she began her next adventure. Knowing that we were celebrating somewhere with such a special connection to nature and animals made the venue even more meaningful to us.

The Perch, the wheat fields, the wishing tree and the children’s play area are all wonderful additions that gave our guests the freedom to explore and enjoy a truly outdoorsy wedding experience. It felt less like a traditional venue and more like our own little festival hidden away in nature.

The Nissen hut is absolutely beautiful, and we cannot wait to return for our anniversary to stay there and relive the memories of our wedding weekend. Our guests loved the glamping experience, and we only wish we had been able to stay and enjoy it ourselves! The breakfast hampers were absolutely divine, we thoroughly enjoyed eating it post wedding reception on the perch to take in the surroundings. We cannot wait to come back!

We truly brought so much colour, vibrancy and joy to The Woods this summer, and we know we will never forget our wedding weekend. We are sure Lindsay, Charlie and their family won’t forget it either! Thank you for allowing us to celebrate over the whole weekend and for giving us the freedom to create something so personal and unforgettable.

Every one of our suppliers fell in love with The Woods from our caterers, DJ, decor and stylist, painter, photographer, content creator and Hindu priest. Our friends said it's a wedding they can never forget! They all commented on the beauty of the natural surroundings and the incredible atmosphere of this secret sanctuary we had discovered.

One of the most special moments was planting a tree in honour of our wedding day, this resonated with us as part of the Hindu wedding ceremony is honouring the earth goddess Bhumi. We love knowing that we can return in the future with our children and show them where our story began.

We got married at the Woods at Oakley and it was incredible. Lindsey and Charlie were so helpful throughout and the woods were stunning. Many guests commented that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to and the guests who stayed in their bell tents had a beautiful cosy night. It could not have been more perfect, and we are so glad we chose this venue! The photos speak for themselves. We had over 160 guests and it still felt uncrowded and open.

What is really helpful is the fact that Lindsey and Charlie continuously make updates to improve the facilities, e.g. building the lookout spot bench and having the outdoor kitchen there is so useful!

The day could not have been made possible if it wasn't for the lovely Rachel being our event manager. There were so many things that we needed her help on to help make the day go as smoothly as possible and she smashed it, as well as ironing out any other unforeseen hiccups, discretely and away from the brides attention!

The Woods at Oakley is an absolutely breathtaking venue—the entire space is so magical and the vibes were just amazing from start to finish! It was exactly what we imagined, were looking for, and more.

​Charlie and Lindsay were incredibly welcoming and hospitable; they were so flexible and helped us out with absolutely anything we needed. We felt like we were part of the Woods at Oakley family instantly.

Every interaction with the owners, event managers, and staff was so approachable, easygoing, and down-to-earth, which made the whole planning process completely stress-free.

We also absolutely LOVED our stay in the Nissen hut. It was incredibly clean, beautifully thought out, and stocked with all those little essentials you might easily forget in the pre-wedding jitters—like hair ties a hair brush, cotton pads and thoughtful little details. It really showed how much care they put into their guests.

To top it all off, having the animals there was such a lovely addition to the overall atmosphere.

We honestly could not have imagined a more perfect place for our wedding than Woods at Oakley.

From the very first visit, we knew the woods were our place to get married. There was something so special, peaceful, and magical about it. What made it even more meaningful was knowing that the money we spent was going towards such a wonderful cause — helping preserve and protect the woods. That gave the entire experience an even deeper sense of purpose and joy.

A huge thank you to Lindsay, Charlie, Rachel, and of course little Delilah the spaniel, who were all incredibly supportive, kind, and helpful throughout the whole journey. Everyone made us feel so welcome from day one.

The team were always friendly, approachable, and most importantly, very flexible and open to our new and creative ideas. Nothing ever felt too much trouble, and that made planning our wedding feel exciting and personal rather than stressful.

And Delilah truly deserves her own special mention! She is the sweetest little host who happily accompanies you around the woods every time you visit. We were so happy she came to say hello to us on our wedding day too — such a lovely dog and such a memorable part of the Woods at Oakley experience.

We had the most amazing Wedding day at The Woods at Oakley. There are no words to truly describe how absolutely stunning this venue is. Lindsay and the rest of the team were wonderful to work with. In every interaction you can feel the love and passion for what they do. Every question, no matter how big or small was answered so quickly. They allowed us to have so much creative freedom, allow us to have our dream wedding through and through!

Being allowed to arrange so many visits in the lead up to the big day to plan everything was incredibly accommodating. The level of trust and kindness shown by everyone in the team was unwavering.

The Woods decorates itself, but the fairy lights surrounding the Woods lighting your way around, just stunning!

Oh, and the tree planting...can't forget that! Such a wonderful, unique and permanent reminder of the day.

The Woods at Oakley is the most magical wedding venue! We had goosebumps as soon as we first visited the Hazel Bower, and had our wonderful wedding there in September 2025. The Nissen Hut is a perfect addition and such a luxurious place for the bridal party to get ready on the wedding morning. The team are absolutely incredible, and there whenever you need them. Rachel was our wedding co-ordinator and I cannot recommend her highly enough! She really went above and beyond to make our day run as smoothly as possible. Thank you so much to everyone.

We chose The Woods at Oakley because it really appealed to our love of the outdoors and nature. From our first meeting with Rachel we knew it was where we wanted to get married. Rachel, Lindsay, Charlie and the team were absolutely fantastic from start to finish.
Rachel answered all my questions (of which there were many!) and was always helpful offering reassurance the whole way. Lindsay and Charlie went above and beyond on our day and we were so grateful for the extra help.

We recently got married at The Woods at Oakley. We actually chose this venue because we realised that myself being immunosuppressed by my treatment meant we needed to switch to an outdoor venue, my husband spotted the woods in his search and we fell in love with it and booked it without even visiting (although we did have visits before our wedding day), it felt more us and it ended up being far more beautiful than anywhere we would of been getting married before. The staff we dealt with at the woods were all very friendly and helpful; Rachel was great at getting back to us with any information needed and Lindsay is clearly very passionate and enthusiastic about her work. It is a stunning and calming location where even your most basic photos can't help but look amazing. We used the lovely wildflower seed confetti and of course planted our own tree! We only had a small wedding - the 3 hour slot with our 14 guests - but it was still perfect and exactly what we wanted. We also stayed in the Nissen hut the night before and the night of our wedding and had the vegan breakfast hamper. There were lots of nice little details, we absolutely loved the picture on our card. We love the work the woods is doing and their aims and of course our vegan caterer was perfectly suited to such a place. I love the lights that follow the path through the woods, they added so much magic to the day. I also love the 'something to borrow' brochure the woods has - we have actually added to it with our ivy garlands. Our amazing photographer Alice was found thanks to the woods 'friends of the woods' brochure. Despite the mud (which can't be helped after rain in mid September) we received great feedback from our guests about the venue & how beautiful it was. We would absolutely recommend this venue & we were sad to say goodbye to Mango the miniature horse. Thank-you all! :D🫶🏻

We had our wedding at The Woods at Oakley in June, and honestly, there is nothing we would change! Although the weather forecast looked uncertain in the lead-up, Lindsay and Charlie stayed in close contact all week, helping us make the right decisions for the changing conditions. Their support made us feel relaxed and able to enjoy the build-up without stress.
We were lucky with our suppliers, but ultimately, it’s great communication and a friendly, accommodating venue that make a big day run smoothly — and The Woods at Oakley absolutely delivered. The setting is truly magical, and the flexibility means you can create a completely bespoke wedding that feels personal and unique.
The team struck the perfect balance: always there when needed but giving us space to enjoy setting up and making the weekend our own. The on-site accommodation is lovely, and having the whole weekend there made it feel extra special. Some of our friends and family stayed in the yurts and absolutely loved them — it was wonderful to have them close by in the mornings.

We had the most fantastic wedding day in The Woods at Oakley! Lindsay and Charlie were perfect hosts and made their woodland feel like home from our very first visit and Rachel was fantastic in helping us organise all the details. The Hazel Bower, amongst the trees, is such a romantic place to get married. We stayed for two nights in the Nissen Hut and took in the moment. My partner and I chose their 'Secret Wooding' package which was ideal for our small, intimate wedding, followed by a woodland picnic. We would highly recommend The Woods at Oakley to anyone who will listen(!) and can't wait to go back and visit.

We recently held our wedding at this venue and could not be happier with how it all unfolded! Set in 12 acres of woodland, the Woods at Oakley was incredibly beautiful, peaceful and an absolutely idyllic setting we’d recommend to anyone looking to get off the beaten track. The owners were incredibly friendly and attentive, having an incredible knowledge of the area. They went out of their way to make the day special for us coming up with lots of ideas that really helped shape it into an even more personal experience.
The outdoor kitchen, toilets and showers were very well kept and within easy walking distance of the Hazel Bower and Bluebell Glade where most of the ceremony took place. The bell tents were very comfortable and commanded a stunning view of the local countryside.
The woods at Oakley have many suppliers they can recommend for weddings. For example- we hired lighting and a stage from “All the Kit” who were professional and friendly. They also have the option to hire Rachel; their event coordinator who was attentive and accommodating to all our needs.
Our guests absolutely loved the venue and everyone told us what an amazing day they had! We wouldn’t change a thing and will certainly be visiting again to renew our vows and to see our tree that they let us plant there with our own personalised name tag! :)

I will do my best to capture in words how perfect this venue is, but I’m not sure it’s possible. Every moment from the first meeting at the woodland was perfect. The venue owners are the kindest and most genuine family you could ever meet, our wedding planner Rachel went above and beyond and managed behind the scenes so perfectly that all stress and worry on the day was lifted, the animals you can wander off to visit are so friendly and sweet, the special events they hold in the woodland to help you feel more connected to trees are magical, the fact you can plant a tree in your day and go back to visit any time is an honour I never thought I’d get on my wedding day, the breakfast hamper delivered to our door the next day was delicious and meant we could feed each other strawberries in the huge bath tub (so cheesy but so fun!!), and then there’s the woodland itself. I truly have no words. I always dreamed of a woodland wedding, but I never thought I would find a venue this truly breathtaking. The bluebells, the dappled sunlight, the hanging vines, the handmade pews, arbour and tables… I will be living in the day for the rest of my life. I will never be able to thank them enough, I cannot recommend this venue more and I can sing no higher praises. Thank you 💚
