Family wedding
In the run up to the event James was extremely helpful with suggestions and changes and we were able to provide guest with a choice of menus. On the day, he arrived promptly and left after everything was cleared and tidy. The food was delicious!
Possibly what pleased us most was that James,without being at all intrusive, became part of the celebration and left all our guests saying that they would recommend him to everyone!

The selection of dishes from your menu were carefully crafted had depth of flavour and perfectly balanced with each ingredient complimenting each other
It was particularly nice that some of the plates offered were from our selected menu plan which after tasting gave us great comfort in knowing we have chosen the right caterer for our day

The venue we had they hadn’t catered for before and they went above and beyond visiting the site multiple times before the wedding to ensure everything went smoothly. The food was delicious especially the beef! Our guests were very happy!

James Twiner is the Founder and Head Chef at First Press Hospitality, bringing years of hospitality experience and a genuine passion for great food to every wedding the team delivers.
James began his career in restaurant management, gaining a strong understanding of service, team leadership and the importance of consistency and detail. He went on to manage independent, food-led venues with high-end food and drink offerings, refining his culinary style and approach to creating memorable guest experiences. Along the way, he also developed extensive knowledge of wine and drinks, which now plays an important role in menu planning and pairing for weddings.
Bringing together his experience across restaurants, events and premium hospitality, James founded First Press Hospitality to offer couples something more personal and flexible than traditional wedding catering. As Head Chef, he is closely involved in menu creation and works alongside couples to design food that reflects their tastes, style and vision for their day.
James takes pride in using quality, seasonal ingredients and creating menus that feel generous, elegant and thoughtful. On the day, he works closely with the wider First Press Hospitality team to ensure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, allowing couples to relax and enjoy their celebration.
With a calm, professional approach and a genuine love for what he does, James is committed to delivering wedding food and service that feels effortless, memorable and truly special.
In 2025, James was joined by Clara Howard, his partner in life and now in business. With a background in sales, marketing, events, and corporate management, Clara brings the organisation, communication, and calm precision that keep each event running seamlessly.
Together, they balance artistry with strategy — turning vision into execution, and hospitality into something truly memorable.
