Set in the centre of the historic hamlet Huddersfield, England, The Woodman Inn is a beautifully refurbished 18-century country inn and wedding venue. It offers a stunning backdrop for photographs, impeccable service and unrivalled attention to detail.
Facilities and Capacity
The Woodman Inn has two very special event spaces on offer, both of which are unique in their own way. The Country Room is the intimate and historic country inn wedding venue, comfortably seating between 40 and 80 people. The Garden Room is a glass structure located in its very own gardens, secluded and hidden away from the world. Seating anything between 60 and 150, The Garden Room makes for a light and airy setting.
Services Offered
The Woodman Inn is fully licensed to hold civil ceremonies. For your special day, you will have exclusive use of the property, accommodation for your guests and a personal event planner. From dressing the room in your favourite colours to finding that special piece of music for your all-important first dance, this planner's attention to detail is second-to-none. The Woodman Inn's team also creates your very own personalised package and menu, designed in partnership with talented chefs.
19 beautifully refurbished en-suite rooms and three cosy cottages are also available for overnight accommodations. These have been lovingly and tastefully modernised with comfortable furnishings, each with its own unique twist, all in keeping with the venue's 18th-century heritage.
The venue is also dog friendly with ample parking.

A truly magical day! ✨️
We would like to say the biggest thank you to the team at The Woodman for making our wedding dreams come true! ✨️🤎 You provided us with the most magical setting and our day was just perfect from start to finish! You really listened to what we wanted and absolutely nailed our overall vision and the fun and relaxed vibe we wanted for the day! You fully embraced us and our crazy little tribe, even when we were running around in the mud in our wellies! Everything from the food, to the decor and the amazing staff on the night was just 👌🏼 A personal shout out needs to go to Nadia, for being an all round legend and providing much needed moments of zen when we needed it 😂 She is definitely an asset to the events team and did us proud! 🫶🏼 We cannot thank you enough for everything and we will be forever grateful we chose you as our venue, thank you to all of the wonderful staff - we truly have made memories we'll cherish for a lifetime 💘💍

We got married on the 22nd March 2025. We could not have chosen a better venue for our special day. Nadia went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. All the meetings before the wedding were so helpful and allowed us not to stress about it and get all questions we needed answered. I knew i could always email or phone if i needed and it wasn’t too much for them. I loved how they were so pet friendly and our fur baby could play a part in our special day.
Myself, my baby girl, my mother and my bridesmaid stayed the night before, she ensured breakfast orders were in and they served breakfast too our room which was lovely.
The morning of the wedding Nadia came to check on us which i thought was really nice. She reassured me so much, she put me at ease. She kept me updated with everything that was going on.
Many of my guest complimented how amazing Nadia was. All staff were so lovely and helpful. The food was super delicious, all my guest complimented how amazing the food was and how hot it was. Not one person had a bad word about it.
The bridal suite was stunning and the breakfast the next day

Our wedding
We wanted a chilled wedding with lots of amazing food and drink and that exactly what we got. We had about 50 guests and it was the perfect amount of people for the Country Room and to be able to spend time with everyone during the day. The food was amazing and the staff were so helpful throughout the whole process!

We had our wedding at The Woodman Inn in Thunder Bridge last Saturday and it was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning location – the charming countryside setting created the most magical backdrop for our day.
The food was absolutely amazing; every single guest commented on how delicious and beautifully presented it was. From the canapés to the main meal and late-night snacks, everything was top quality and served with care.
What really made the day unforgettable was the incredible team, especially Nadia and Jordan. They were so professional, friendly, and completely on top of everything – nothing was too much trouble. They made sure every detail ran smoothly and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Their calm and positive energy made all the difference and helped create such a relaxed, joyful atmosphere.
All our guests were so happy throughout the day – it was just one of those truly special occasions where everything came together perfectly. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you, Woodman Inn, for giving us the best day of our lives!

A Wonderdul Wedding at the Woodman Inn
We had our wedding day at the Woodman Inn on the 8th March, 2025 and had a fantastic day. The venue itself was presented beautifully, and nothing was too much trouble for the team. They listened to what we wanted and were flexible with our requests – such as allowing us to have our own singer, crisp wall and sweet trolley, which they were kind enough to set up for us.
The whole day was a success from start to finish and ran smoothly. The service was fantastic, and the food was well received by everyone. Especially the lamb! We already knew the surroundings were beautiful, but on the day everything was perfect.
Special thanks go to Nadia, alongside Jordon and Ben, who, with the rest of the staff, made everyone feel very welcome.
Nadia was very communicative throughout and looked after the bride and her family the night before too. It was appreciated! Thank you!

A very special place!
How to find the words to describe such an amazing place?
We already knew we loved the woodman after attending a wedding ourselves here some years earlier.
We first met Jordan (the manager) at a wedding fayre we attended. He was warm, friendly and down to earth and straight away it felt like we were talking to a friend.
Before the wedding any queries were replied to promptly and helpfully both over the phone and via email.
On the day I had no doubts that Jordan and his team would have everything under control and I wasn’t wrong in the slightest. The team went absolutely above and beyond to make sure everything went perfectly! Loads of guests have since commented on what an amazing venue it was and how lovely the food was- the beef in particular!
We got married in the garden room and the marquee itself looked absolutely stunning.
We honestly can’t recommend the Woodman enough if you are thinking of getting married here- do it!

Most perfect day
We are beyond grateful for everything the venue did for us, everything was perfect and they couldn't have done anymore for us to make our day special and stress free. The food was absolutely gorgeous and we received so many compliments from guests regarding the food. The venue is just stunning and nothing was too much trouble and we cannot thank them enough for helping our day be more perfect than we could have ever imagined.

Our perfect wedding
We had the most perfect wedding day at The Woodman Inn. We used the Garden Room for the ceremony, the wedding breakfast and the evening. The room looked absolutely perfect for every stage of the day.
The team at The Woodman were amazing throughout the day and from the moment we booked. They were extremely responsive and helpful with any questions and requests that we had.
The day ran so smoothly, this was down to Nadia and Ben our wedding organisers who couldn't have done anymore for us. They were so friendly, helpful and professional.
We really do recommend using here for your wedding day, we couldn't have imagined it any better.

Jordan and Nadia thankyou for dealing with my tears from day 1, you made a difficult situation so much easier nothing was too much trouble, Nadia I want to thank you for answering all my questions and concerns quickly and reassuringly that everything was in hand (and it really was). Jordan you are the Aperol king! Ha xx
Everything about the day was just perfect you captured my vision perfectly and we had so many people compliment the food and how tasty it was especially the cheese toasties! They went down a treat!
We are so glad the unfortunate situation led us to you guys, it truly shows how much you all love your jobs and how making it special for couples is the most important thing! We would recommend you all in heartbeat! Keep been the best of the best and we can't wait to come back and see you all!

The amazing Woodman Inn
From the first time we walked into The Woodman Inn we knew it was a special place - from the location, staff, food and ambience.
Our first wedding meeting was with Ben who showed us around the venue, he was so welcoming and professional . He listened and offered advice when needed. The whole experience of planning with Ben and nearer to the date with Nadia was easy and a pleasure. So many guests commented about the amazing food and venue. Nothing has been too much trouble for them and our wedding was an amazing day!!

Could not recommend enough!
Could not recommend The Woodman Inn enough! We had our wedding in the country room in March, and the day was perfect! The setting and venue is fanastic, the staff were amazing and made the process of booking and planning a wedding in 4 months easy! On the day the staff could not do enough for us, and made the day flow steamlessly.
Last but not least, the food was outstanding and all our guests still 5 months on rave about the food(i highly recommend the garlic mushrooms).
Thank you to the team for all their help and support at making our dream reality become a reality (if not better).

Best day ever!
The Woodman were amazing - the whole experience & day itself was perfect!
We had the best day ever - especially being able to have the ceremony outside in the beautiful gardens was so lovely.
The food is delicious and was enjoyed by everyone.

Wedding Day 2.0
We recently celebrated our wedding day (2.0) with family and loved ones at the woodman inn.
We live overseas, and Jordan, Ben & Nadia were amazing at advising & communication and accomodating from the very first contact.
We booked the woodman inn without viewing the space; and we were over joyed when we arrived to celebrate our day.
Between the multiple suppliers that supported our day we are forever grateful and thankful. They made our day run seamlessly and it was everything we wanted and more.
