Facilities and Capacity

The Venue Huddersfield is licensed for civil ceremonies, and it can accommodate weddings of all sizes, from small, cosy gatherings to grand marquee events. The venue has several event spaces, all carefully designed to the most exacting standards. The grounds afford ample space for a tipi, yurt, or marquee wedding. Indoors, the delightful Highburton Suite can hold up to 110 seated guests in a theatre-style arrangement or up to 200 for a reception. The suite features a high ceiling, lovely tiled floors, and a wall of windows that bathes the space in rich, natural light. On-site accommodation is also available; the venue has seven apartment-style single and double bedrooms and a couples suite, complete with a get-ready room.

The Venue Huddersfield has everything you need to make your celebration truly special. Your wedding package includes the use of the venue and grounds, including the games rooms and cinema room, reception drinks, and a range of dining options. You and your guests can enjoy a traditional three-course breakfast, or you can select a less formal, though no less delicious, afternoon tea or barbeque. An evening buffet reception is also provided. Here too, you have the option of a more casual dining experience if you so desire.     New Years Eve Wedding

    We decided to have our wedding reception here on new years eve and it was amazing. Lisa was fab, very helpful and could not do enough for us. The bridal suite was just amazing we had the whole floor to our selves and even a salon/dressing room to get ready for the wedding. We can not thank Lisa enough for making everything run so smoothly Thanks again Jo & Craig

    The Venue was the right choice

    We thought holding our wedding at The Venue was the right choice, but it really exceeded our expectations. It is in a beautiful setting, with a huge outdoor decking area and plenty of green space/trees and quiet spots for photos. Our wedding day was boiling hot, but there was plenty of shade provided by very old trees and also fantastic air conditioning inside. The wedding room itself is really light and airy, the perfect size for our number of guests (75).
    We chose the Venue so we could be at the same location for the whole event and on the day the wedding team were well on top of the smooth running of everything. The bar staff and DJ were really friendly and helpful too – the DJ was brilliant on the night. The Venue is large and has a lovely feel of light and space and has loads to offer for children – another reason we chose it. We chose the Afternoon Tea package and I was worried there might not be enough food, but there was plenty and it was really lovely and the service was great.
    We stayed in the bridal suite accommodation which was just lovely – brand new and spotless. We had an amazing dressing room complete with salon chairs and a huge mirror, where four ladies and my young bridesmaid daughter got ready with plenty of space for the hairdressers to do their stuff. Several friends stayed in the wedding accommodation and found it really pleasant – a bit like a Travelodge – really convenient (obviously!) and very reasonably priced.
    It was a really fantastic experience – fabulous price – brilliant people and a really unique venue, which is old and beautiful but also has lots of novel stuff, quirks and character.

    The perfect wedding venue!

    The perfect wedding venue! We got married on 12th May 2018 and just had the best day ever! We went for the BBQ package and with a breakfast for our guests in the morning. The food was fantastic and ALL the staff were so professional, helpful and friendly. Especially Lisa and Georgia who made the final week leading up to our wedding as stress free for my wife as they could! (and made sure the bride made sure where her bag was all night!) Guests stayed in some of the old digs that have been done up and I could tell some of my relatives had doubts about this, however they were all blown away by the whole weekend. They loved that they all had their own rooms but actually had their own little party catching up with family the night before!! And the breakfast was the perfect way to round off the weekend. You won’t find a better venue...plenty of space, decking, pool tables, big dance floor, amazing staff and even a cinema room for the kids - and adults!! Thank you to the whole team for giving us such a memorable day!

    We had an amazing day that we will remember for th

    We had our wedding reception here at the beginning of September and it was just the most perfect day.

    The Venue is a brilliant party place and the gorgeous countryside that surrounds it is magical, we got some amazing pictures exploring the woods and we were very lucky to have it on such a beautiful day.

    What made the day extra special was the brilliant staff, I would like to thank them all for everything they did, your hard work was appreciated so much. The kitchen should also receive a round of applause, the food was so delicious and beautifully presented. The evening food looked yummy too but I was having too much fun to think about food, it didn’t hang around for too long so I assume it was to the same high standard as the wedding breakfast.

    Mandy was the glue that held it all together, she accommodated us so warmly and was the picture of coolness on the day, we would have been lost without her.

    I would recommend anyone to consider Storthes hall as a wedding (or any other special occasion) venue.

    Could have been great, but...

    I had my wedding this year at Storthes Hall, we were told that we would be the 3rd couple to get married there, turns out we were the first. We decided to stay in the halls the night before the wedding in preparation.

    www.stortheshall.co.uk/gallery this site implies that the flats would have had plush modern furniture in the flats rather than furniture that could have come straight out of secondary school.

    On the day of arrival there was no tea or coffee, or kitchenware. We were told that the guest staying the next day would have this provided (we have since found out that one of the guest did not have teas and coffee in their room and only 5 cups in a 6 room flat). This just highlights a lack of attention to detail and awareness.

    As the bride I was given the largest bedroom, Unfortunately it was disgusting and had a brown stain on the toilet seat. No hangers in the cupboards. No iron provided.

    It might be worth noting we found the reception really bad when trying to make important phone calls. Simple instructions were not carried out on the day, venue promotional banners were still in the venue when we had specifically said we did not want to see them. Items for the wedding favours were not set in place and so fell flat.

    I would advise anyone who is considering a wedding here to get a wedding planner, as I feel although we met and went over details many times, details were not actually noted or followed through. And when things are glossed over with a car sales persons smile and then told it wasn’t there fault after the 10 months of planning you put in to it, it really hurts.

I am very sorry that you were unhappy with the Venue as we always strive to support our couples despite the option they choose. We welcome all feedback as it helps us to improve our service and facilities. We are upgrading all our bedrooms and creating a purpose built bridal suite.
