Hi I'm Laura, thanks so much for dropping by, its lovely to meet you.
I am a qualified and insured award winning Hair and Makeup artist, The Wedding Industry Awards 2023 & 2024. I am based in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire and travel all over the UK and abroad for my brides. I have been doing this amazing job now for over seven years now and I take great pride in creating flawless, photo-ready looks that last all day. I uses a collection of premium, cruelty-free, and vegan products, including Illamasqua, Cosmetics a La Carte, Hourglass, Charlotte Tilbury and Deliah to name a few

I really do understand that your wedding planning journey can be overwhelming and I aim to put couples at ease, I pride myself on communication and am here every step of the way. Whether you prefer a classic and understated look or a glamorous transformation, I can bring any style to life. I provide hair and makeup styling for any size of bridal party and can bring along a additional artist for larger groups.

What is included in the wedding package?
I am yours for the day, whether you book me for hair or makeup or both. I never attend two weddings in one day. I have helped brides get into their dress, sew on missing button, broken zips etc!
How far in advance should I contact you?
As soon as your can, I do take last minute bookings of course if I can. Ideally 6-12 months before your big day, I would hate for you to be disappointed
Do you work at homes?
Yes
What is the charge for travelling?
£0.55p per mile
What is your main business area?

Could you stay with the bride until the photo shoot?
Yes
How many people can you beautify for one wedding?
Normally 6 of either service. If you have a big party, that's not a problem as I will bring a capable assistant with me at no extra cost to you
Can you provide your beauty services for pre-wedding and post-wedding photography?
Yes

Perfect wedding hair
I booked Laura for my hair on my wedding day and she was just perfect. From my first enquiry she was friendly and professional and gave me everything I needed. Meeting her at trial was just a lovely experience and she really understood what I wanted. My wedding day came around and Laura was right on time even though it was early! She was chatty and calm and it was so lovely having her with us as we were getting ready. Some of my bridesmaids changed their minds that day (!) and Laura was still so accommodating. She was amazing with my flower girls and we all got so many compliments. I loved my hair and felt truly amazing. Thank you Laura xx

Perfectly natural
From the moment I met Laura we hit it off and my experience with her from start to finish was a true delight. My make up was simple, natural and stunning, it didn't really feel like I was wearing any. It stayed perfect all day and I was complemented by all our guests as well as everyone who has seen our wedding photo's since. Without question I would highly recommend Laura Cartwright to anyone looking for a make up artist.

Wedding hair & makeup
I found Laura on Hitched. I emailed Laura to ask for a price for H&M for myself & 2 bridesmaids. Laura came back quickly. I then booked a trail for myself. It was a great experience. Laura is professional & chatty. She makes you feel that you are her only client. We chatted through what I wanted & Laura got to work. I never felt I was having H&M that Laura wanted it was all about how comfortable I felt & what I wanted. On the big day Laura turned up bang on time & started doing her magic. She made us all feel relaxed & pampered. I looked amazing & exactly the look I was going for. Hollywood glam. I had Hollywood waves with made up eyes & lashes, H&M lasted all day, even though Laura gave me a touch up pot. Which I did not need. It was perfect. If you are looking for a H&M professional then Laura is the women for the job. Laura even put my wedding shoes on for me on the day. She really was amazing. Price is reasonable & the whole experience is amazing. She made me feel beautiful on my wedding day. Thank you Laura xx

Incredible service
Laura is an outstanding MUA. She understood my vision of wanting a natural and subtle look and brought it to life perfectly. We had so many compliments throughout the day on the professionalism of the make up and what an incredibly bonus that it is all cruelty free!

The best MUA More than I could have ever wished for on my wedding day
Laura has gone above and beyond my expectations! From my inital make-up trial she gave me such great, honest advice to help get my skin in great condition ready for the big day. She uses only the best cruelty free products and let's just say she understood the brief! Laura made me and my bridal party feel at ease and she's professional along with being great fun! I highly recommend Laura's services.

Loved my hair and makeup!
Laura was such a pleasure to have as my hair and makeup artist for my wedding. Professional, friendly, relaxed and she did an amazing job for both my hair and makeup. She was very open to listening to what I liked or didn’t like and was happy as well to adjust things as we went along to get the look that I wanted. Even when I didn’t quite know myself until we worked through it together!

Look no further, Laura is the one
If you are looking for a fabulous make-up artist for your wedding or special event then look no further. Laura did all of my bridal party make-up and boy she didn't disappointment. She has such a lovely approachable personality and listens to what type of look you want to achieve to make you look natural but extremely special. Laura helped with various other roles on the day from helping me into my dress, shoes and fixing my jewellery to reminding me at the very last minute to have a spray of perfume. She has a lovely calm demeanor which is needed on such occasions and she kept me focused and managed the time of the proceedings perfectly. ❤️

Wonderful service
I just wanted to say a massive thank you for making me look so beautiful on my wedding day hair and makeup done by yourself. My makeup was absolutely stunning and I had so many compliments on it.
