Beyond words….just incredible, perfect & even more than we had hoped!

WOW. WOW. WOW!!!
The Oakhouse, its staff, the food and the location fulfilled our dreams and beyond and gave us the most perfect wedding day that we will treasure the memories forever.

From the moment we started planning our wedding with Bri nothing was too much trouble. She helped us put our dreams into reality. With loads of emails, requests and suggestions she helped make our day personal, unique and exactly what we wanted.

On the day the staff worked so hard and Nisha created the oak room from a beautiful ceremony room to a perfect venue for our wedding breakfast and then to a perfect party room. She did everything we wanted and more and made the day run so smoothly.

Along with Tracey and Aaron they did the most amazing job of looking after us all with friendliness and professionalism throughout the whole day.

The food was soooo delicious and presented so beautifully. Kelly is an absolute asset and cooks the most amazing food!! It couldn’t have been more perfect.

The Oak was just the most perfect venue for our wedding. It was so lovely to have exclusive use, it was cosy yet spacious and truly fulfilled all our expectations and dreams. Two months later we are still buzzing from our perfect day.

From the first visit to the Oakhouse we felt welcomed, and at easy by the manager and by Bri the planner. Bri was out of this world going above and beyond with all the planning and arrangements right up to the day of our wedding, answering our problems and questions with rapid response, despite the time of day or night. The food was great, staff were wonderful and Kellie, who was in charge on the day was incredible, even when problems arose (our mess up) Kellie and her crew were great in fixing it without any qualms. I would highly recommend the Oakhouse Hotel as a venue to hold a party, engagement or wedding . All I can say is the stress was taken out at the drop of a hat, our day flowed perfectly, and we smiled and laughed all day. Only downside was the day went so quickly as we had the most wonderful wedding, as my husband said “ it was the best day of his life”. The venue is situated in a beautiful picturesque village, we would love to come back and celebrate our wedding on our Anniversary every year.

We couldn’t have chosen a better venue if we’d tried! Everything was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were absolutely amazing. From Bri who organised everything pre wedding to Alex and Kelly who seriously could not have been better on the day. The hotel has loads of character and was perfect for us. The rooms we stayed in were gorgeous and all our family and friends loved the hotel. Everyone had the absolute best time and I have no doubt it was down to the amazing staff.

My wife Lyn & I stayed overnight at the Oakhouse as guests celebrating Hayley & Adam’s recent wedding and we just wanted to say what a fantastic time we had. The venue is really welcoming in a quaint ideal village setting, with helpful and dedicated staff who clearly work hard and enjoy what they do. Great food and service! Many thanks to everyone involved.

My brother and best friend got married at this venue and it was exceptional from start to finish . The team looked after everyone and took care of all needs . So relaxed and calm a great little gem to get married in or any other function .

I attended a wedding here and the venue and staff were great. Food was delicious. I have food allergies and they made food especially to cover all my allergies. Great service. Great atmosphere.

Everyone who worked over the wedding weekend was absolutely brilliant and extremely helpful.

The Oakhouse was the perfect setting for our wedding, the village of Axbridge has so much atmosphere and the Oakhouse has the perfect degree of warmth and space to make our wedding feel full of people but not overcrowded.

In the planning stage of our wedding we organised all the details with Bri, who was simply wonderful. Bri responds really quickly to any question you may have and offers suggestions to make your day as perfect as they possibly can make it, they are very flexible and accommodating to any idea you have and will work to make sure it goes ahead without a hitch.

The staff onsite for our day were brilliant, they checked with me that every detail was as I had imagined and were incredibly attentive to myself and our guests. They took all of the organisation and preparation on board so that all we had left to do was enjoy ourselves, everything looked and felt magical. The combination of planning beforehand and handover with the on the day staff was smooth and meant that there was nothing to worry about as I had already discussed all the details with Bri prior.

We had so many comments on how smooth and pretty everything looked at the venue, the fire added so much atmosphere and the s’mores were so much fun.

One of the best things for us was the photo booth the Oakhouse organised. It was incredible. Jordan who ran the photo booth was so friendly and kind, everyone had so much fun in the photo booth and it is reflected in the images that came out, one copy went with the guests and one copy was stuck in a book for us to take home at the end of the night. It is one of my favourite keepsakes from our wedding, you can’t help but laugh at all the fun that was had and I can’t thank the Oakhouse enough for organising it and having it as part of the package as we would not have had one otherwise.

Overall, it was a day I will never forget, all largely due to the Oakhouse.

When we first arrived at the venue to look around we were greeted with smiling faces and warm, attentive care. We knew as soon as we spoke to Marina that we wanted to get married there.

Throughout the process, Bri was always an email away to help solve any problems that we had. Over the course of the wedding planning we racked up around 170 emails back and fourth, but she would always reply back as soon as possible. We also met up over facetime, as well as a few face to face meetings.

Bri had a handful of suppliers at hand for anything that we needed, and she seemed extremely organised and well connected with the right people. We couldn't fault her one bit.

As for the venue, it is a beautiful place, bringing rustic country vibes, with a roaring fireplace and a beautiful ceremony room. All the staff were super helpful, including Aaron and Neesha (sorry if I got the name wrong, we only met her on the wedding day and she pretty much made the wedding a success, helping it run from start to finish!).

The food was incredible, everyone complimented how good it was. Someone even said it was the best meal they've ever had! The Chicken, pork and vegan dish went down a treat, as did the desserts that followed. Everyone loved the mini cheeseburgers and Scotch eggs as canapés! Even more so, the pizzas were amazing in the evening (pointer, I don't think this is an option they advertise, but it was a good price for 5 different pizzas and chips). The breakfast, again, amazing reviews all round, with plenty of options.

There is nothing we could of faulted. The venue and its staff made our wedding day as special as it could be, and we wouldn't of changed it.

Perfect venue, hard working and dedicated staff and the most comfortable rooms. A thousand thank yous for the most magical wedding. We had the perfect day, in the perfect setting. On the lead up to our wedding our planner Bri was always responsive to any concerns or worries we had and emailed me straight back. They aim to please and really want to make your dream wedding a reality.
Having grown up in Axbridge I knew the area well, however, my guests did not and we received so many compliments on the venue during our wedding. The food was amazing and there are many areas for the varying needs of our guests. If you’re looking for an intimate and personal wedding then The Oak House is a must.
