Fairytale Castle Weddings in West Sussex

Castle weddings may sound like a fairytale, but many of the historic landmarks throughout England open their doors to couples to celebrate their love. West Sussex has some gorgeous castle venues, but before you make the plunge, there are a few things to consider.

How Do You Decorate a Castle Wedding?

Castles are the perfect opportunity to embrace classic and vintage-inspired design. As you explore tableware, floral design, and decor, try to keep everything cohesive and pass on more modern pieces. This also extends to other planning elements, such as your wedding attire, dinner menu, and music. You'll also need to be mindful of the treasured items at these venues, including paintings and tapestries. Extra care should be taken, and these items can actually add to the character of your event.

Can You Have a Small Wedding at a Castle?

If you're hoping for an intimate castle wedding, check to see if each venue allows private bookings instead of exclusive use of the grounds. If they have smaller event spaces, such as private dining rooms, you'll still have the privacy you need while remaining on budget.

We felt the planning and communication was great and straight forward. Everyone we spoke to was helpful and kind and we are grateful for your service and the quick turnaround to make our day happen! Picking the best part of the day is a tricky one - it was all fantastic from the food, location, weather, customer service that I don't think there was anything we would want to change or have any different. Overall we're super happy we decided to go ahead this year and get married at Amberley - it was exactly what we wanted and would highly recommend other couples to have their weddings or other events at Amberley! Thank you so much Dean and team!

We wanted to marry somewhere that was different to all our friends but never thought we could afford a castle. We felt like royalty on the day. Our family and friends said they hadn't been to a wedding so beautiful. The food was incredible. Nothing was too much trouble. We used the castle's wedding decorator to style it for us and it looked like a magazine shoot. I would definitely recommend the castle to other couples. Thank you Castle Goring for giving my husband and I the day we never thought possible. XXX
