Owlpen Manor is a rustic-meets-refined wedding venue situated near Stroud, Gloucestershire. Set within a 215-acre estate, this romantic venue is the perfect venue for exclusive, private wedding celebrations, plus accommodation on the estate for 40 people. With stunning surroundings, romance and intimacy, the venue can offer all you need for a wonderful, unforgettable wedding. The venue’s fantastic team of professionals will work closely with you to design your very own bespoke wedding package and will be on hand to take care of every detail.
Facilities and Capacity
This is basically a whole Cotswold village which is available to hire for three days, with a wedding in the middle of it! Owlpen offers a number of beautiful locations within the estate for wedding receptions. The estate is available for your exclusive use for the entirety of your wedding weekend, or for three days midweek. With stunning barns, fully licensed indoor and outdoor ceremony venues, photography locations and reception spaces, the estate is an extremely flexible setting for your day. The venue can accommodate receptions with between 20 and 120 guests. All areas are licensed and we can offer a fantastic variety of selected wines and a pay bar when required. The Old English formal gardens offer a delightful setting for your favourite drinks and canapes, with space for up to 200 guests.
Services Offered
If you’re planning a smaller wedding, the Great Hall in the Manor House provides a wonderful setting for civil ceremonies for up to 50 people. There is a parish church next to the manor house, which can seat over 120 people. The Owlpen team can arange all sorts of add-ons for you, such as glamping, outdoor activities, wild swimming, and barbecues. The nine holiday cottages on the estate are spread out across the valley, so you are hiring an entire Cotswold hamlet for a wedding weekend in one of the most beautiful valleys in the Cotswolds.

Perfect Autumnal Cotswold Wedding
My husband and I had an absolutely magical day at Owlpen Manor for our wedding.
We instantly fell in love with this wedding venue on a visit around eighteen months ago. After visiting a lot of other venues in the area, we felt that Owlpen had the charm and natural beauty that we were looking for. We also loved the idea of being able to have our closest family and friends stay in the surrounding cottages. It gave us the opportunity to make the wedding a whole weekend affair rather than just a day.
Working with the Owlpen team to make this day extra special has always been easy. We found the master shared document an easy way of sharing information as and when we booked our suppliers. They were also incredibly responsive to emails about even the smallest details.
On the weekend itself, Owlpen were kind enough to let us in early on the Friday so we could spend extra time setting the Pole Barn up for the wedding breakfast as we hired in additional tableware from a different supplier. This really helped to make the preparation process easier. The cottages were also available in good time which allowed us to prepare for a welcome dinner the night before.
The accommodation itself was so perfect. All the cottages have their own unique charm and traditional features.
On the day, the co-ordination from Bella was great and her organisation made the day run so smoothly. Luke and the front of house team also made sure that every glass was well filled during the drinks reception and the bar service was very smooth.
I couldn't recommend Owlpen Manor more to a couple looking for a venue with charm, personality and a team that will make all your planning much easier.

The best day we could possibly imagine
Early on we had trepidations about choosing a venue far from our London home, but when it came to the weekend, we couldn't imagine it any other way.
Everyone was terrific in the lead up to put our minds at ease and assure we were staying on top of our to-do list and in good hands.
The weekend of the wedding was just magical. The grounds looked splendid in early May, and the family who had the pleasure of staying in the cottages raved about them. Throwing a casual BBQ on the Friday night was a lovely and relaxed way to welcome everyone to the grounds before the wedding.
On our wedding day, Hugo went above and beyond to make sure the events ran smoothly, from providing a quiet moment with a glass of champagne as we stepped out of the church to revealing a family sword when it came time to cut the cake. We felt like we were truly hosted with a warm and personal the whole way through.
Stepping from the church to the stunning gardens to the barns made for the smoothest, most stress-free day we could imagine. Where else can you start your wedding morning with a stroll over to a lovely pond for a dip? The whole venue and staff put us at such ease and let us focus on what mattered most, which was enjoying our special day and celebrating with all our loved ones who had joined us.
We could not recommend this place enough, it was like stepping into another world, and all memories of our wedding will forever have a warm glow around them in no small part thanks to Owlpen Manor.
Also a special shoutout to the caterers, Well Seasoned, who pulled off 120 dishes of sea bass cooked to perfection and got a special mention in countless of our thank you cards.

A perfect day

The venue and estate are truly breathtaking but it was the Owlpen team’s openness, supportiveness and confidence that “whatever it is, I’m sure it can be done” attitude that really meant that we had to book it for our wedding day.
Throughout the wedding-prep process the team were very generous with their time and super accommodating (happy answering questions via email or on the phone, and allowing us to visit multiple times in the 18 months leading up to the big day).
One of the highlights of getting married at Owlpen is that, if you are a Saturday wedding, you get to make a full weekend of it. We held a pre-wedding dinner with our close friends and family the night before, and a post-wedding picnic on the Sunday - as any bride will tell you, the wedding day itself flies by in a wonderful blur, and so the extra time Owlpen gives couples really allows you the chance to be present in the celebrations.
On the day itself, we were so lucky to have the flawless support of Bella and Luke making sure our day ran like clockwork. Our friends and family loved them too.
We are very grateful to the entire Owlpen team for making it such a brilliant experience and we will definitely be back to celebrate anniversaries in the future!

Incredible venue, wonderful team
We got married at Owlpen over the August bank holiday weekend in 2024 and had the most incredible time. Hugo, Bella, Luke and the whole team went out of their way to make the whole experience seamless, whether that be by responding so quickly to our emails during the planning process, to anticipating every need on the day.
We loved having access to the cottages for the whole weekend and the team gave us the flexibility to host an informal BBQ in one of the gardens on the day before, which was hugely appreciated.
The venue itself is so beautiful that it needs very little decoration. It was great having access to both barns, as the pole barn made for a stunning venue for our wedding breakfast and the more petite cider barn meant that our evening party was packed throughout and the atmosphere with the band was fantastic.
Being allowed to have our dog and tortoise in attendance was also hugely appreciated.
Overall we could not have asked for a better venue or a better experience. So, so many thanks to the whole team for making our day so special.

Faultless wedding venue and management
It would be impossible to list all of the ways that Hugo, Bella and Tonia helped to make our wedding amazing. The pictures of Owlpen don't do the venue justice it is simply stunning and the option to hire the cottages onsite are a perfect opportunity to keep your party together while giving them space to enjoy their time in the Cotswolds. The bridal suite is stunning.
The team have been responsive, flexible and warm in every single meeting and conversation we had with them. Generously offering extra time on site for set up when available, answering measurement questions and being creative and proactive on the day when rain threatened to spoil the outside ceremony. We really got the impression that we could ask them anything and they would try to make happen whatever they could.
They succeed in giving a huge array of possibilities while not feeling like we're being sold to; our vendors found them equally joyous to work with.
We cannot thank them enough or recommend them highly enough. They deserve all of the business all of the time, you won't regret it.

Just wonderful

Absolutely magical
I honestly don’t know where to start with writing a review for Owlpen, I feel emotional even trying. Start to finish, the team at Owlpen were the most well organised and professional team you could hope to work with, whilst somehow managing to also be the most friendly, kind, good humoured and accommodating people you could meet. There is a real family feel when working with the team and they have gone above and beyond, whether it be allowing countless visits, responding quickly and informatively to my barrage of emails for the last 1.5 years, to looking after us so well on the wedding day. So many of our guests commented on how well organised the day was, and that was down to the well oiled machine that is the Owlpen staff!
The place itself is a piece of magic that it really takes seeing in person to appreciate. Set in a Cotswold valley, there is a real sense of intimate privacy whilst also projecting a vast feeling that comes from having the full run of the place; there isn’t anything like looking down on the beautiful gardens filled with your friends and family bustling around in their finery, that is an image that will stay with me forever. Being able to have a portion of our guests stay the night before and the night of was incredibly unique, and again, the team went well out of their way to accommodate for every last detail. I could never of dreamed that we could have our friends swimming in a lake with a picnic on the bank the day before our wedding, and have a house dedicated to after party fun around a firepit.

Owlpen made our wedding one of the best days of our lives, thanks to their professionalism, love, kindness and compassion.
After a long and dissatisfying search for a venue for our wedding, we stumbled across Owlpen manor. From the second we spoke with Bella, the wedding planner, we knew it was the right place for us. Her warmth, kindness and love is overwhelming. She was able to quickly find out about us, and offered a package that was very bespoke to our needs. The location speaks for itself; it is simply stunning and we were blessed with sunshine on our special day, this meant we were able to get married outside in the grounds of the manor.
Bella and the entire team, could not have made it more special for us, we were looked after so well, and everyone that works at Owlpen are so professional and kind, it really was the most spectacular experience. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and Bella even helped me get into my wedding shoes!
We had 40 guests at our wedding, and they still rave about our wedding today, saying it was the best wedding they've ever been to! Our guests stayed at all of the cottages available and thoroughly enjoyed the quirkiness of them all, they are full of character and comfortable.
The good was amazing, we ordered the vegetarian sharing board for starters and it was beautiful, as was the rest if the meal. The mud week package is excellent value for money.

Owlpen Manor is a beautiful venue in the Cotswolds with accompanying cottages which was fantastic and enabled close friends/family members to stay in for our wedding weekend.
More so than this, the team at Owlpen have been absolutely amazing from Day 1. Bella, Hugo and everyone else working at Owlpen went the extra mile and a half to ensure that our special day ran smoothly and without issue!
The “Ethos” from the team that a Wedding should be a weekend, rather than just a single day was one that really resonated with us from the very beginning. Being able to have a relaxed meal the night before our special day with family members in the cottages was lovely. Also, having access to the venue the day before and after meant that set-up and takedown were relaxed (As much as it can be the day before a wedding!)
All in all, the experience that we had at Owlpen Manor was absolutely amazing. Thank you again to the incredible team there.

Gorgeous place, lovely staff!
I was recently one of the bridesmaids at a wedding here and I would 100% recommend it! The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and the perfect backdrop for photos. All of the staff were so lovely and they really helped to make the day extra special.

Best day EVER!!!
Look, I’m not very eloquent but hear me out.
I’ll take you back to 28/09/2020 newly engaged and excited. I had always wanted a really low key wedding however my (now) husband was keen for something a bit bigger.
I had looked around online and nothing was hitting the spot.
My mum.. (obviously - she’s a babe), sent me the link to owlpen. We arranged to have a little look around and instantly fell in love with the venue and Bella.
Organising things During lockdowns and all that stuff, they were amazing.
Now.. fast forward to 21/09/2021. Me, my partner, our kids, family, friends are all having a bbq the night before the wedding, chilling and sorting everything out for the next day on site.
Cottages were really cute and well equipped, made it feel like a real little holiday!
THE WEDDING DAY.. let me tell you, with Tonya, Bella and Theo there I did not need to worry about a thing! It all went so smoothly and they had our back the whole time!
All of our guests had the same thing to say to us “I’ve never been to a more relaxed wedding, it’s so chill” this is down to the venue and staff in my opinion.
It all just felt amazing and relaxed, ‘well seasoned catering’ were also incredible. The food was amazing and the staff were next level great!
It’s a week later and I want to go back already! Xx

Even better than we could have wished for
We held our wedding at Owlpen Manor on 29 August 2021 and we couldn’t have wished for a more beautiful venue or more fantastic people to help us plan our special day.
Owlpen feels like your own private slice of idyllic countryside, where you are able to create your wedding day exactly as you want it. We loved having the whole venue for two nights and having close friends and family staying on the estate in cottages meant we had time to really enjoy the whole weekend, setting the wedding up the day before and spending time with everyone who had travelled to be there with us.
Hugo, Bella and Theo were fantastic. They helped us to put together a weekend and wedding day which was even better than we could have imagined. They were so helpful in the run up, making sure what they could accommodate our plans, which we had total free rein on. On the day Bella and Theo went above and beyond to make our day special, with Bella even becoming chauffeur for the bridal party at the last minute! And Theo making sure the reception and party went without a hitch and that everyone felt free to let their hair down.. which they did! We had many compliments on the food, by Raoul from Well Seasoned Caterers, which was delicious and putting the menu together was a thoroughly enjoyable part of the wedding planning.

I've been shooting weddings at Owlpen Manor for a number of year's now and and never tire of it's beauty, both inside (the house, Cyder Barn and wonderful new Pole Barn...) and out. There are so many 'wow' shot locations to choose from (my favourite is in front of the Grist Mill with the lake reflections which looks like a Constable painting!) and they're all within a couple of hundred yards or so which is great when timings are tight.
If you are looking for something 'quintessentially Cotswold's' with gorgeous photography locations then Owlpen Manor, with it's wonderful new Pole Barn and brilliant team, is up there with the very best wedding venues in the country.

Worth the wait!
We booked our original wedding date back in 2018 after falling in love with Owlpen after our viewing. The fact that we could use the venue for the whole weekend was a big positive for us as many of our guests had to travel from across the country.
Unfortunately we had to postpone our wedding last year due to Covid and Bella and Hugo were so supportive. They constantly kept us updated on the guidance and what this meant for our wedding day. Without their support, the lead up to our wedding would have been much more stressful, given all the uncertainty with the restrictions for weddings. They worked with us to make our wedding day perfect despite the Covid restrictions in place.
All our guests commented on how wonderful the venue and accommodation was and how helpful and friendly all the staff were on the day. We’re so glad that we had Owlpen for our venue and would definitely recommend to any couples looking for a beautiful, secluded Cotswold venue.
