Owlpen Manor is a rustic-meets-refined wedding venue situated near Stroud, Gloucestershire. Set within a 215-acre estate, this romantic venue is the perfect venue for exclusive, private wedding celebrations, plus accommodation on the estate for 40 people. With stunning surroundings, romance and intimacy, the venue can offer all you need for a wonderful, unforgettable wedding. The venue’s fantastic team of professionals will work closely with you to design your very own bespoke wedding package and will be on hand to take care of every detail.
Facilities and Capacity
This is basically a whole Cotswold village which is available to hire for three days, with a wedding in the middle of it! Owlpen offers a number of beautiful locations within the estate for wedding receptions. The estate is available for your exclusive use for the entirety of your wedding weekend, or for three days midweek. With stunning barns, fully licensed indoor and outdoor ceremony venues, photography locations and reception spaces, the estate is an extremely flexible setting for your day. The venue can accommodate receptions with between 20 and 120 guests. All areas are licensed and we can offer a fantastic variety of selected wines and a pay bar when required. The Old English formal gardens offer a delightful setting for your favourite drinks and canapes, with space for up to 200 guests.
Services Offered
If you’re planning a smaller wedding, the Great Hall in the Manor House provides a wonderful setting for civil ceremonies for up to 50 people. There is a parish church next to the manor house, which can seat over 120 people. The Owlpen team can arange all sorts of add-ons for you, such as glamping, outdoor activities, wild swimming, and barbecues. The nine holiday cottages on the estate are spread out across the valley, so you are hiring an entire Cotswold hamlet for a wedding weekend in one of the most beautiful valleys in the Cotswolds.

Perfect Autumnal Cotswold Wedding
My husband and I had an absolutely magical day at Owlpen Manor for our wedding.
We instantly fell in love with this wedding venue on a visit around eighteen months ago. After visiting a lot of other venues in the area, we felt that Owlpen had the charm and natural beauty that we were looking for. We also loved the idea of being able to have our closest family and friends stay in the surrounding cottages. It gave us the opportunity to make the wedding a whole weekend affair rather than just a day.
Working with the Owlpen team to make this day extra special has always been easy. We found the master shared document an easy way of sharing information as and when we booked our suppliers. They were also incredibly responsive to emails about even the smallest details.
On the weekend itself, Owlpen were kind enough to let us in early on the Friday so we could spend extra time setting the Pole Barn up for the wedding breakfast as we hired in additional tableware from a different supplier. This really helped to make the preparation process easier. The cottages were also available in good time which allowed us to prepare for a welcome dinner the night before.
The accommodation itself was so perfect. All the cottages have their own unique charm and traditional features.
On the day, the co-ordination from Bella was great and her organisation made the day run so smoothly. Luke and the front of house team also made sure that every glass was well filled during the drinks reception and the bar service was very smooth.
I couldn't recommend Owlpen Manor more to a couple looking for a venue with charm, personality and a team that will make all your planning much easier.

Dream Wedding
Our wedding at Owlpen Manor was truly a dream come true! The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking—steeped in history, surrounded by stunning countryside, and with so much charm. It created the perfect backdrop for our special day, and our guests were in awe of its beauty.
A huge thank you to Tonia and Luke, who went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly on both Friday and Saturday. Their support, attention to detail, and willingness to help with every aspect of the day made all the difference.
We also booked out all the onsite accommodation, which was a fantastic decision. It made the whole weekend feel even more magical, allowing our closest family and friends to stay together and enjoy the celebrations to the fullest.
We also want to give a special shout-out to our caterers, Food Champs, who were absolutely wonderful. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and tailored perfectly to our tastes. They impressed not only us but every single one of our guests. Their team was professional, friendly, and ensured everything ran seamlessly during the meal service.

Simply Brilliant!
We couldn't have asked for a better venue. Not only is it picture perfect, the people who work there are an absolute joy to work with. Tonia was our main point of contact both to view the property and on the day before and the day itself and she couldn't do enough for us to make sure it was perfect! Luke as well made sure that we had everything we needed and him and his team helped so much with the evening and tidying things up for us to make sure it was an easy job in the morning when we were a little worse for wear.
Hugo and Bella were also amazing at answering all my thousands of questions in the lead up and Ryan on the morning after helping again to put all my decor in boxes.
If you're thinking of booking here do it! You won't be disappointed!

Accomodating, stunning, perfect..
Owlpen Manor is incredibly accommodating, stunningly picturesque and was the perfect venue for our wedding. My husband and I had the most magical outdoor wedding on their top lawn and could not have been happier. We absolutely loved the grounds and the barns, as did our guests. We planned closely alongside Bella and Tonia, who made sure that every detail was thought of and executed flawlessly. Tonia was also wonderful at keeping a nervous bride and groom at ease in the morning. Luke was also incredible and made sure that everything ran smoothly on the day – our guests even commented on what a wonderful job they did and how committed they were. The whole team are very knowledgeable, experienced and accommodated our ideas (even our more unusual ideas) to make our day extra special – their experience built upon our ideas to make them work well and ensure that everyone was involved and had a great day. The cottages were perfect for our guests with exquisite views. The views also made for stunning wedding photos! We also loved having the venue for the whole weekend, as we could greet our guests with food and drinks on the Friday evening before our wedding on the Saturday. We had the best day of our lives and thank them for their hard work, expertise and for making our wedding day happen exactly as we wanted it to. We couldn’t have imagined our wedding day anywhere else.

The best day we could possibly imagine
Early on we had trepidations about choosing a venue far from our London home, but when it came to the weekend, we couldn't imagine it any other way.
Everyone was terrific in the lead up to put our minds at ease and assure we were staying on top of our to-do list and in good hands.
The weekend of the wedding was just magical. The grounds looked splendid in early May, and the family who had the pleasure of staying in the cottages raved about them. Throwing a casual BBQ on the Friday night was a lovely and relaxed way to welcome everyone to the grounds before the wedding.
On our wedding day, Hugo went above and beyond to make sure the events ran smoothly, from providing a quiet moment with a glass of champagne as we stepped out of the church to revealing a family sword when it came time to cut the cake. We felt like we were truly hosted with a warm and personal the whole way through.
Stepping from the church to the stunning gardens to the barns made for the smoothest, most stress-free day we could imagine. Where else can you start your wedding morning with a stroll over to a lovely pond for a dip? The whole venue and staff put us at such ease and let us focus on what mattered most, which was enjoying our special day and celebrating with all our loved ones who had joined us.
We could not recommend this place enough, it was like stepping into another world, and all memories of our wedding will forever have a warm glow around them in no small part thanks to Owlpen Manor.
Also a special shoutout to the caterers, Well Seasoned, who pulled off 120 dishes of sea bass cooked to perfection and got a special mention in countless of our thank you cards.

A perfect day

The venue and estate are truly breathtaking but it was the Owlpen team’s openness, supportiveness and confidence that “whatever it is, I’m sure it can be done” attitude that really meant that we had to book it for our wedding day.
Throughout the wedding-prep process the team were very generous with their time and super accommodating (happy answering questions via email or on the phone, and allowing us to visit multiple times in the 18 months leading up to the big day).
One of the highlights of getting married at Owlpen is that, if you are a Saturday wedding, you get to make a full weekend of it. We held a pre-wedding dinner with our close friends and family the night before, and a post-wedding picnic on the Sunday - as any bride will tell you, the wedding day itself flies by in a wonderful blur, and so the extra time Owlpen gives couples really allows you the chance to be present in the celebrations.
On the day itself, we were so lucky to have the flawless support of Bella and Luke making sure our day ran like clockwork. Our friends and family loved them too.
We are very grateful to the entire Owlpen team for making it such a brilliant experience and we will definitely be back to celebrate anniversaries in the future!

Incredible venue, wonderful team
We got married at Owlpen over the August bank holiday weekend in 2024 and had the most incredible time. Hugo, Bella, Luke and the whole team went out of their way to make the whole experience seamless, whether that be by responding so quickly to our emails during the planning process, to anticipating every need on the day.
We loved having access to the cottages for the whole weekend and the team gave us the flexibility to host an informal BBQ in one of the gardens on the day before, which was hugely appreciated.
The venue itself is so beautiful that it needs very little decoration. It was great having access to both barns, as the pole barn made for a stunning venue for our wedding breakfast and the more petite cider barn meant that our evening party was packed throughout and the atmosphere with the band was fantastic.
Being allowed to have our dog and tortoise in attendance was also hugely appreciated.
Overall we could not have asked for a better venue or a better experience. So, so many thanks to the whole team for making our day so special.

Faultless wedding venue and management
It would be impossible to list all of the ways that Hugo, Bella and Tonia helped to make our wedding amazing. The pictures of Owlpen don't do the venue justice it is simply stunning and the option to hire the cottages onsite are a perfect opportunity to keep your party together while giving them space to enjoy their time in the Cotswolds. The bridal suite is stunning.
The team have been responsive, flexible and warm in every single meeting and conversation we had with them. Generously offering extra time on site for set up when available, answering measurement questions and being creative and proactive on the day when rain threatened to spoil the outside ceremony. We really got the impression that we could ask them anything and they would try to make happen whatever they could.
They succeed in giving a huge array of possibilities while not feeling like we're being sold to; our vendors found them equally joyous to work with.
We cannot thank them enough or recommend them highly enough. They deserve all of the business all of the time, you won't regret it.
