Established by Yard Space Events, Old Gore Barn is a charming street-food wedding venue situated in the picturesque village of Calmsden, Gloucestershire. With over a decade of experience in venue management, we have channelled our passion for flavour, fire and creative catering into bringing you memorable and unique events in the heart of the Cotswolds.
Your Day at OGB
Our newly renovated barn offers an expansive space for all aspects of your celebration. We are licensed to hold civil ceremonies of up to 120 guests, giving you the opportunity to stage your entire day here. Exchange your vows in front of our woodburning stove, surrounded by natural greenery, exposed beams, and contemporary Crittall-style doors, creating a light, airy ambience. Transition your guests to the heart of the venue, our courtyard, to enjoy a relaxed drinks reception over-looking the Cotswolds valleys. Our carefully curated canapés and crisp Prosecco will be sure to get your taste buds tingling for your main meal! Hosted in our ‘long barn,’ enjoy a feast of middle-eastern inspired dishes, stone-baked pizzas, or our twist on tacos, all within view of our outdoor kitchen and Argentine Asado fire pit. Continue with the street-food theme by serving puddings from our kitchen hatches, where your guests can help themselves to churros, gelato, or warm chocolate brownies. Enjoy your evening celebrations up until midnight, with use of the venue’s state-of-the-art Funktion One sound system, a fully-stocked bar, and delicious Late Night Food options like burgers, bao buns and our head chef’s renowned savoury doughnuts!
Our Accommodation
Our company flagship pub, The Stump, is situated less than a mile from Old Gore, and boasts 10 contemporary-country ensuite bedrooms, as well as a brand-new events space which can hold pre or post-wedding events for up to 50 guests! A further 10-minute drive will take you to our second pub, The New Inn, with 14 ensuite bedrooms and a garden suite fit for any Bride! Our country cottages, Montreal House and Casina Cottage, are the perfect space for your wedding party or family to gather during your celebrations, and are both just a 10 minute drive from OGB.

Our dedicated team of wedding coordinators are on hand to support you throughout the whole planning process and will be there on the day to ensure your event runs smoothly. From the big ideas to the last-minute details, we are here to help you create unique events with a personalised touch. Our in-house chefs take pride in curating exceptional menus to every taste, sourcing only the finest produce from local vendors, whilst our refined wine selection supports independent, family run vineyards in Italy, Spain, Germany, France, and New Zealand.

Our perfect wedding at Old gore
The venue is so beautiful, even though we had a lot of rain on the day of our wedding it didn’t affect it at all. If anything the weather made our day even cosier! We included the fire pits and had lanterns everywhere which made it so magical. And how could we forget Deloris the disco ball, she was a beauty!!
Thanks again to everyone at Old Gore for helping us have the best day of our lives.
Absolutely perfect venue - book them now! ✨
All of our guests kept commenting on how great the venue was but what came out over and above was the FOOD and the SERVICE. The Taco's and Churros were incredible and there was so much food (not like your typical 3 course small portion wedding sizes), this combined with the team who were absolutely fantastic. They went over and above and were there to support with all of our requests on the day and before that. We 100% recommend.

A magical day - cannot recommend Old Gore enough
The venue is beautiful, especially as we had our ceremony width ways across the barn to make the most of the amazing windows. We wanted to do a few different touches for our day and the team at Old Gore were more than happy to help us make them all happen. All comms up to the wedding were responded to really quickly and the cost breakdowns were very clear from the outset.
If you want a venue that allows for you do to your wedding your way in stunning surroundings, look no further. Thank you everyone at Old Gore for making it the best wedding day we could have asked for!
Best wedding venue ever!
The barn is so beautiful, and it comes decorated with faux-foliage (including foliage chandeliers).
The food is INCREDIBLE, we couldn’t believe they could cook such amazing food on such a big scale.
However, the best thing about Old Gore is the people. The team cannot do enough to ensure you have the best day, they really do go above and beyond. We really felt that every single person we interacted with was genuinely so excited for our wedding day, and would do anything for it to be perfect.
A huge shout out to Emily, who was the first person to show us around and also was our Wedding Coordinator on the day. She couldn’t do enough for us and offered some great suggestions when we asked for advise from previous weddings she’d seen.
All of our suppliers said it’s the most beautiful venue they’d ever been to, and our friends said it’s hands-down the best wedding!
We wish we could do our wedding all over again, but in the meantime, we’ll definitely be back for Feast Nights!!
Beautiful unique venue.
The most stunning wedding venue
We got engaged in lockdown 2 (November 2020) and thought there would be no way we would find a venue available for 2021 but to our surprise we came across the newly launched Yard Space website with a CGI video of an upcoming wedding barn. By the second week of December we had visited the then derelict barn and booked for September 2021. The team had such vision and the relaxed street food concept sounded perfect as we wanted an epic reception (we got legally married privately a couple of days before the big day) in a beautiful surrounding. At this point we couldn’t have even imagined how beautiful it would be so we are so glad we put our faith in the team.
The team are amazing and completely committed to their couples. In the run we obviously needed a lot of reassurance about the build and visited a few times to see progress but they were always so welcoming and catered to any needs we wanted for the day. A particularly big thank you to Arabella & Clayton who were so supportive and kind.
We were the third wedding, day 7 of Old Gore being open, and we honestly cannot put in to words how fantastic the day was. All our guests could not stop saying how magical the venue was and also there were so many compliments for the staff. We completely agree as every staff member would do anything for us and they were all so friendly, including the staff behind the scenes as well, particularly the chefs as the food was incredible. The canapés were unique (the brisket nuggets a particular hit) and for the sit down meal we had a pizza and barbeque spatchcock chicken feast to fit with our more relaxed vibe. The bar certainly got a lot of action and the guests loved (maybe a bit too much!) the wide selection of drinks available including very yummy cocktails!
Thank you again to the whole team. This wedding venue is perfect and going to be a huge success! And we hope we get to visit again soon as it has such amazing memories for us.
Best day of our lives
We had the best ever time at Old Gore, the venue was stunning, food was incredible and the staff were amazing. Our guests are still raving about the pizza and bao buns.
The day ran smoothly, to which we owe a massive thanks to the team at Old Gore - we had a few time changes on the day and they worked around them with ease, offering any advice or help as we needed.
The venue layout is perfect, we always felt like we were with our guests no matter where we were. The food was delicious and the staff were incredibly helpful throughtout the day.
Two very special thanks to Arabella and Clayton, helpful from the first time we viewed the venue (in our hard hats and high vis whilst it was being built) right through to the glasses of fizz straight after the ceremony... and beyond!
Best day of our lives!
For anyone who has booked Old Gore we would thoroughly recommend attending one of their Feast Nights where you can sample the menu. We took our parents and found the evening to be so much fun and was a great opportunity to see the venue in action.
We used several suppliers from Old Gores recommended list, all of whom were fantastic. Using reputable suppliers who had already worked at the venue and were trusted by Old Gore made the wedding planning less stressful.
We would change absolutely nothing about our day. The venue is stunning, the food amazing and the staff extremely attentive and professional.
We would love to visit Old Gore again in the future and book another feast night…! Thank you so much, Polly & Jack Bonnick

Perfect relaxed wedding
Clayton and the team were fantastic and reassured us that we would still have the perfect wedding day. This could not have been more true. The team were very flexible and worked with us to ensure we had what we wanted. They never pressured us for payments or information and the whole planning experience was so smooth.
The venue itself is simply stunning, plenty of space and has a more relaxed feel than more traditional wedding venues which was perfect for what we wanted. We had so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful the venue setting was, the fire pits were a particular hit in the evening where we were able to toast marshmallows!
The food and service from the team was outstanding, they couldn’t have been more accommodating to us and our guests throughout the day. After the ceremony we had canopies which matched the quality of our main meal where we opted for their famous wood fired pizzas. The karaage chicken and beef brisket canopies were the definite favourites!
I couldn’t recommend Old Gore enough if you’re looking for a barn style wedding.
The perfect venue!
Our wedding was at another venue, but postponed numerous times due to COVID and then it was having legal difficulties so we decided to change venues. We experienced a lot of stress along the way!
Booking with Old Gore Barn was the best decision we made! It was so easy - we were kept up to date regularly with how the building work was going, were able to view it as much as we wanted and the team got back to us with any questions quickly. It ended up getting us excited about our wedding again!
On the day, you wouldn't have guessed that we were only their 2nd wedding! The team were fantastic, friendly and made sure that everything was how we wanted.
We have had so so many people telling us how amazing and beautiful the venue was. It was completely what we wanted, relaxed but gorgeous!
We went for the Asado lamb for food. We had a couple of guests that wouldn't eat Lamb, so Old Gore were very accommodating and cooked chicken for them instead (even 1 burger for one of the kids!) Honestly, everyone keeps saying how the food was the best wedding food they had!
It was honestly the best day, and I couldn't have imagined having it anywhere else now. It was perfect! A few of our guests have recommended it to their friends - and I would without a doubt, recommend this venue to anyone!
