Though delayed, we couldn’t not leave a shining review for the incredible venue that is Old Gore. It was the first, (and only) venue we needed to visit before our mind was made up that it was the place for us. The whole ethos of the team and company sold it for us (as well as the most spectacular food!).
It’s the most beautiful wedding venue, with gorgeous indoor and outdoor spaces that created the perfect backdrop for our day. Even with the risk of rain, it still makes the perfect setting for a wedding.
Emily, our wedding coordinator, was exceptional from start to finish as our primary contact throughout (from our first visit, to picking up our left over wine the day after!) She was efficient, organised, fun and such a calming presence throughout the entire planning process. The quick responses to queries (from the whole team), updates and check-ins made everything feel effortless. We were lucky to have the addition of lovely Polly on the day and she was a welcomed addition. Emily and Polly she kept the whole day flowing seamlessly. No request was ever too much trouble, and they helped us build a truly personalised day that felt completely “us.”
The food was incredible, cooked over fire pits with a view straight into the kitchen, which added such a unique touch. The relaxed vibe, combined with the amazing quality of the food, made the whole experience feel special and authentic.
Our guests haven’t stopped talking about how stunning the venue was and how polite, kind, and attentive the staff were.
We genuinely couldn’t have asked for anything more from the whole team at Old Gore, thank you. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxed and personal, yet professional wedding experience.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding day at Old Gore. From start to finish, everything was absolutely wonderful, and the whole day went so smoothly.
A massive thank you to Emily, who was incredible. She was so attentive, organised and reassuring throughout the day, making sure everything ran perfectly and allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment. We genuinely couldn’t have wished for a better person to have looking after us on such an important day.
We also want to say a huge thank you to all of the front of house and kitchen staff. Everyone was so friendly, professional and helpful, and the food and service were fantastic. The attention to detail from the whole team really made such a difference.
Old Gore gave us the most amazing wedding day and we are so grateful to everyone who played a part in making it so special. It was truly perfect from beginning to end, and we’ll remember it forever.

Stunning venue and stunning service
A HUGE thanks to Polly, James and the whole Old Gore team. It was genuinely incredible - the attention to detail and effort made was exceptional. Our guests have been raving about the venue and the food. We cannot thank Old Gore enough for everything the team did - for going with our flow, guiding the bride, dad and bridesmaids so thoughtfully into the ceremony, keeping the delicious food coming, and honestly just everything.

If you are looking for a stunning venue with the most fantastic team then we can only recommend Old Gore! Polly was fantastic from our initial meeting to the big day itself! Calm, charming and professional the whole team seamlessly made our day perfect. The food was absolutely delicious and our guests cannot stop talking about it!
We knew this was our dream venue as soon as we stepped through the doors and the team made sure to help us through the whole process. We definitely recommend a feast evening before hand too. No request was too small, including a German log cutting wedding tradition!

Best wedding I’ve ever been to!
There are just not enough stars for Old Gore!
If you are even just considering having your wedding here, you absolutely must!
We didn’t want a super traditional wedding - more a “get married, have a party” vibe. A couple of other venues were dead-set against this, but when I spoke to Emily she said, tell me what you picture… and followed that up with: we can absolutely make that happen. I was so excited!
The whole vibe at Old Gore is very relaxed anyway, but every member of staff did everything they could to make our dream wedding a reality.
It seemed as though there wasn’t anything we asked that was a problem. I honestly think if I’d told Emily I’d wanted a wild tiger to walk me down the aisle, she have said, “Amazing, let’s do it!”.
Obviously the venue in itself is stunning, and with the decorations that are already there, you don’t need to go big on florals and decor - but if you do choose to, they make the venue even more amazing! The massive glass doors, the indoor trees, the foliage wheels, the candles, the fairy lights, the disco ball!!! It’s all just perfect!
So many of our guests commented on the venue, the staff, the food (we’ll get onto that!) and said that it was just perfect. One guest even said it was better than his own wedding! Honestly, it’s just brilliant!
The staff are so accommodating, friendly and helpful. Their client platform is easy to use, very informative and contact with any member of the team is always quick and helpful - even on days they have weddings or events, someone always got back to us really quickly.
The setting is beautiful and completely isolated from anything else, so you truly feel the whole day is all about you and your guests - as it should be. The Dutch barn and large outside fire pit are perfect in case of bad weather - you just never know in England, do you?! But the lawn and courtyards are equally amazing if the weather is on your side. There is so much space, you never felt crammed in anywhere and there was lots of room to get around and see all of your guests.
The food… it is amazing! The canapés just seemed to keep on coming, and were delicious. Every single guest said how much they liked the food and how well fed they were! Burgers and pizzas for evening food is the most genius option! “The best burger I’ve ever had” was one guest’s feedback!
Ultimately I could talk all day about how amazing the venue is, but you really should just go and see for yourself, because once you visit, your heart will be set!

Could not recommend Old Gore more! We loved all of the Cripps venues but the “party feel” of Old Gore sold us. Emily and Polly were fabulous throughout. Polly was our venue manager for the day and the whole day was seamless. Fantastic food (and margaritas!) plus gorgeous decor and fun atmosphere with the iconic Dolores the disco ball for the evening. Cannot recommend Old Gore Barn enough. We recently got married there and the venue was phenomenal. Polly was our event manager for the day and did an amazing job. Everything ran perfectly, the staff couldn't do enough for us, and we honestly had the best day of our lives. This venue looks amazing in rain or shine, the food is great, and the disco ball is a MUST. I'd get married here every year if I could.Old Gore Barn - Yardspace's reply:
