Booking our wedding at Hilltop two years ago was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.
From the moment we first visited in 2024, shortly after getting engaged, we just knew it was the venue for us. At an open day, we spoke to Clare, who reassured us that whatever we envisioned for our wedding, Hilltop would find a way to make it happen - and they truly lived up to that promise.
Although we had two more venues booked to view “just in case”, our hearts were already set on Hilltop after that first visit. We secured our date for 18th May 2026 and never looked back.
As a DIY bride taking on around 90% of the décor myself, it was really important that I had the information and flexibility needed to bring my vision to life - and Hilltop made that completely possible. Leah, in particular, has been an absolute angel from our very first email exchange. We regularly sent over ideas we thought might be rejected, but every time we were met with genuine excitement and encouragement. It honestly felt like we had our own personal cheerleaders! Even our “crazy” ideas were met with enthusiasm, leaving us feeling confident and excited to bring everything to life.
Our food tasting evening was phenomenal - I couldn’t stop thinking about how incredible everything tasted. We also had ideas for our own cocktails, and Luca went above and beyond to bring them to life, adapting existing Hilltop drinks to reflect our personalities. They became our signature cocktails on the day, which was such a special touch.
When it finally came to our wedding day, we had accepted that our outdoor ceremony probably wouldn’t happen due to the gloomy weather that morning. However, Leah and Liv didn’t give up hope. They kept a close eye on things and, by what can only be described as a bit of magic, there was a break in the rain! In an incredibly short space of time, they transformed everything from indoors to outdoors, giving us the ceremony we had always dreamed of.
In the middle of all the excitement, I somehow managed to lose a piece of my bridal jewellery in the bridal suite. Although I said not to worry, Leah and Liv still took the time to search for it - and amazingly, they found my bracelet!
Our photos around the house and grounds are going to look absolutely stunning. From the wisteria-covered house to the picture-perfect gardens, we genuinely felt like we were in a film.
After the ceremony, so many of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was. They were also full of praise for the staff, noting how warm, friendly and genuinely passionate they were about what they do. We’ve been to weddings where it’s hard to get a smile from those serving food and drinks - but that definitely wasn’t the case at Hilltop!
The food on the day was phenomenal. The steak and ale pie, in particular, had guests asking if Hilltop opened as a restaurant between weddings because they wanted more!
Guests with dietary requirements were equally impressed - the vegan and vegetarian options were clearly well thought out, full of flavour, and made everyone feel included (the vegan butter was such a lovely touch!).
The evening pizza was just as incredible and went down an absolute treat with everyone. Our gluten-free guests were especially grateful to be so thoughtfully catered for, which meant so much to us.
The bar staff, Lauren and Lauren, were fantastic - we even managed to drag them onto the dance floor with us for a bit of Taylor Swift and Oasis!
Emil did an amazing job managing our very mixed music taste - I had warned him in advance that we’d have everything from pop and indie to rock, metal and R&B! Somehow, he made it all work seamlessly, and the dance floor was never empty.
The bridal suite was beautiful, with such thoughtful touches. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and we were welcomed with a fridge stocked with drinks, along with snacks, tea and coffee waiting for us.
We had mentioned in passing that it was my birthday the day after the wedding, so we were completely shocked the next morning to find our breakfast set up with birthday banners, balloons, and our wedding flowers dotted around. Leah and Liv even came in wearing party hats and sang happy birthday! It was such a special, thoughtful moment and just shows how truly amazing the team are.
We are so sad that our day is now over, but as the team said - we’re now part of the Hilltop family. We’ve already said we’ll be back to visit after our honeymoon, and we honestly can’t wait to see all your lovely faces again ❤️

Our wedding day on 9th May at Hilltop Country House was everything we could have dreamed of and more.

From the minute we first visited Hilltop, we knew it was the venue for us. Claire was fantastic from the very beginning — she put absolutely no pressure on us and answered every question we had. Instantly, we knew the staff at Hilltop would make the biggest difference to our day, which is so important when choosing a venue. Unlike many other venues, everything is included, and having things like the DJ and catering arranged by them made the whole process so much easier and stress-free.

We absolutely loved our tasting event in November. Once again, the staff hosted the perfect evening, and getting a real sense and taste of what our wedding day would be like was amazing.

Emil the DJ was brilliant! He completely handled all the sound systems throughout the day, from microphones to liaising with our singer, and he kept the party going all night. The whole process of organising our music choices was also so easy.

Leah was truly the highlight of our journey with Hilltop, and we genuinely cannot thank her enough. She was an absolute ray of sunshine throughout the entire process. Even when we were probably a bit of a nightmare with lots of menu choices and details, she made everything happen seamlessly. She made us feel completely at ease and so calm leading up to the day, and she was on top of every single detail.

Being allowed into the venue a couple of days before the wedding to set up was such a huge help. We know many venues don’t allow access until the morning of the wedding, but once again Hilltop went above and beyond for us.

On the day itself, Leah was an absolute diamond. The weather was unpredictable, and she left the decision until the very last minute before moving our outdoor ceremony inside with an incredibly quick turnaround. Despite the changes, everything still looked beautiful, and all our guests were happy and comfortable. Honestly, you would never have known it wasn’t the original plan. So many of our guests commented on how amazing Leah was throughout the day, how hard she worked, and how much she did to make everything run perfectly. We will never truly be able to express how grateful we are for her and what a genuinely gorgeous person she is.

All of the Hilltop staff on the day were amazing — from the bar staff to the waiting staff and everyone else involved. So many of our guests commented on how polite, helpful, and friendly everyone was. We truly believe this made the biggest difference to our day. Nothing was ever too much trouble for anyone.

The food was perfect, the personalised cocktails were absolutely unreal, and every detail from Hilltop was incredible. Luca’s attention to detail behind the bar was amazing — even creating personalised bitters in advance for our cocktails, which was such a special touch. Even when the evening got busy, the level of care and attention never changed.

Even all of our vendors commented on how friendly, welcoming, and helpful the Hilltop team were, and how well looked after they felt throughout the day.

The breakfast the next morning was gorgeous, and we were so grateful to the team for packing up our entire reception into labelled boxes, which made the following morning so much easier.

We genuinely cannot thank everyone at Hilltop enough for making our special day so perfect. When choosing your wedding venue, the staff and team are just as important — if not more important — than the venue itself, and we truly chose the best. A beautiful venue with even more amazing staff.

Hilltop Country House was everything we dreamed of and more. From the moment we visited, we knew it was the one — and it delivered on every single promise on the day.

The grounds are absolutely breathtaking. As a garden wedding venue it's hard to beat — lush, private and with views that had our guests gasping. With around 50–100 guests it felt intimate and exclusive without ever feeling cramped, and every corner of the property made for the most beautiful photos.

The food was genuinely outstanding — so many of our guests said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. But honestly what made Hilltop truly special was the team. The coordinator took all the stress off our shoulders from the very beginning and made the whole planning process feel easy and enjoyable. On the day itself, the staff went above and beyond in every possible way. Everything ran smoothly and we didn't have to worry about a single thing.

For the quality, the setting and the experience, Hilltop Country House is incredible value. If you're looking for a stunning outdoor wedding venue with a team that truly cares — this is it. We can't recommend them enough. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

What a venue and what a team! From our very first point of contact with Hilltop we have been made to feel so welcome and it has almost become a home from home. Claire, Leah and the team have been excellent to communicate with from start to finish, they have taken the time to get to know us, to understand what we were wanting to get from our wedding day and they delivered it all beautifully. Our guests were full of praise for the venue, the setting, the amazing food and in particular the staff who all went out of their way to make our day extra special. Thank you so much for all the little nuances that you accommodated for us, which made the day ‘ours’. I would especially like to thank Leah for her kindness, humour and positivity, just what I needed to keep the stress levels at bay. Quite simply the most exceptional wedding venue you could ever find. A venue where all the staff will go out of their way to ensure you have the wedding you have ever dreamed of. A beautiful venue, stunning gardens and the joy of having it all to yourselves. Everything from food, drink, bar, music, service was the best. We can't thank you all enough for creating a perfect day. We have had so many guests saying it is the best wedding they have ever been to and we certainly agree. Thank you.

From the moment we viewed Hilltop Country House we knew it would be where we were going to get married. The house, gardens, atmosphere and staff were all perfect. From the start of our venue search we couldn’t find a venue with everything we wanted but finally after finding Hilltop it ticked every box! The flow of the buildings for drinks reception, to wedding breakfast and then the boogie room makes the day run so smoothly, there’s no change around in rooms and guests just flow from one to the next. From the second we walked in Claire made me feel right at home and was so welcoming with tea and biscuits… the team really do seem like one big family!

Every corner of the venue is picturesque and perfectly thought out in every way! The pictures we got from our wedding day were stunning, and this was all down to the gorgeous backdrop of Hilltop!

Beth was amazing in helping make our dreams come true, she listened to each and every request and made it happen, she is fantastic in her role at hilltop and we truly appreciated all of her hard work!

Cam really knows his stuff, he was able to advise us on what wines would work well with the food we had chosen and was so honest when helping us pick!

Every guest commented on the gorgeous venue, the cherry blossom and wisteria in the stunning grounds! The music by Emil in the one of a kind boogie room which everyone had an amazing night dancing the night away too. Guests would not stop talking about the food, the soup was a real winner and has been the topic of several conversations since our wedding in April! The waiting on staff were all impeccable!

We could not have wished for a better day, our wedding was run so smoothly and personalised each step of the way. It really was the best day of our lives! If we could do it all again we would choose Hilltop in a heartbeat!

Where to begin! Choosing Hilltop county house for our wedding was absolutely the best decision we made. It's been a week since Oliver and I got married in the beautiful gardens surrounded by all our friends and family xx and since that day we can't stop talking about the special people we met in the Hilltop team. They made us feel completely at home from the first time we met Clare back in November 2023, as soon as we stepped into your cosy home we new this was the place for us. Since then we've had the pleasure of meeting so many members of the team; Cameron, who expertly whipped up our cocktails ( still dreaming about the Vanilla chat white Russian ) and made certain our guest were well watered; Emil who was the perfect MC, ensuring we couldn't stop dancing all the way through the night; Iain and Naomi prepared the most delicious food, all of our guests were raving about their meals and the poutine! Olivia for helping so much on the day, it was wonderful having you around to make sure everything was going to plan and giving some much needed words of calm and encouragement, you were and absolute delight! And finally Leah, from the moment we met you we were laughing and that definitely set the tone! Thank you for going to every effort to make our day exactly how we wanted it! I think we had 2 email chains going with 24 messages in each! The day before and the day of you were around to help and let us know where we needed to be! Ollie and I have said many times how you feel more like a friend to us and we wish we could plan another wedding just to speak to you! From the very first visit, we knew this venue was something special. The setting is absolutely magical — the perfect mix of elegance, warmth, and natural beauty. Every corner felt thoughtfully designed and full of charm, and it created the most stunning backdrop for our wedding day.

What truly sets this venue apart, though, are the people. Clare, the owner, is an absolute gem. Her passion for what she does shines through in every detail. She made us feel so cared for and supported throughout the entire process. Her calm presence and genuine warmth were exactly what we needed — we couldn’t have asked for a better person to help guide us through such a special time. Leah helped us plan every detail meticulously and was available for every request! Olivia worked so hard helping us set up every little detail and was by our side on the day for anything we needed.

And Cam, the bar manager. Not only did he create an incredible bar experience for our guests, but his energy and professionalism made the night even more fun. Plus he’s just a top guy. From custom cocktails to seamless service, he truly elevated the entire reception.

The day itself was flawless. The ceremony space was breathtaking, the reception area was everything we wanted and the staff made sure everything ran like clockwork. Our guests are still raving about the atmosphere, the drinks, the food — everything. We feel so lucky to have celebrated our day in such a beautiful place, surrounded by such incredible people.

Five stars isn’t enough. Thank you, Clare, Leah, Olivia, Cam and the team, for making our day absolutely perfect.

Honestly, Friday 28th March 2025 was the best day of our lives.
From planning to our wedding day, it’s been a dream to work with you all. We could not fault the venue, the staff, the food, the grounds - everything was perfect.

Claire and the team couldn’t do enough for our Halloween wedding. We had such a fabulous day with our friends and family. The food was standout - well worthy of the Michelin star - particularly the red pepper soup as a starter, steak pie as main followed by apple crumble with lashings of custard (bride’s request) for dessert were perfect. Our Halloween decor looked perfect with the Hilltop backdrop. Claire was always on hand to answer questions and Cameron the bar manager accommodated our drinks requests. A special mention to Joe the photographer- what a lovely man. He took the time to capture special family moments for us. We know we will keep in touch with Hilltop. Thank you x

We can't thank Clare and her team enough, they were kind, thoughtful, and determined to deliver our dream day. Our friends and family had a fantastic time and we have been inundated with compliments on the beauty of the venue, the delicious food, but perhaps most of all how kind, thoughtful and friendly all the staff were. Everything exceeded expectations and the whole day went off without a hitch. The space is perfect for a mixed group, with some of our friends exploring the gardens, others hitting the dance floor in the boogie room and we loved watching the kids play with the garden games outside the marquee during the wedding breakfast. Clare is exceptional and is a key reason our wedding day was so perfect and I'm sure she will look after any couple who book Hilltop Country House. She and her team look out for opportunities to make each wedding unique, from decoration, to a bespoke cocktail, to having a nook dedicated to our pictures. Our only regret is not being able to do it again.

We really did have the very best day. It's such a beautiful venue and the team at Hilltop made it all so relaxed and easy, looking after us so well. The food, drink, music, everything was just perfect. Really can't recommend it enough!
