Perfect Venue with wonderful hosts
Venue Service

Burloes Hall is a stunning venue for a wedding. We got married here in August 2018 and couldn't have been happier. The gardens and views over the surrounding countryside are breath taking and the marquee is fantastic. Photos don’t do it justice so it is definitely worth a visit. There is a cricket net, which went down very well with our guests and in the evening the whole place is it up by beautiful lanterns. Nicole and Katherine run events at Burloes and truly are a dream team. They are so lovey, supportive and willing to help. Their ample experience combined with a relaxed approach is also just what you need whilst planning a wedding! Nothing was too big a problem and we can't thank them enough for everything they did for us. They were so willing to be flexible with our two day wedding (we had a Hindu ceremony on one day and Church and reception on the next) which made the planning so much easier. In addition, Burloes only does one event a week which really makes yours feel special and they have the time to invest in making your day perfect. We loved Burloes for the ability to put our own stamp on the festivities and we’re so glad we found them. Highly recommended!

Love at first sight even on a cold January day!

We first viewed Burloes Hall on a cold January morning without even seeing the marquee up but we knew straight away that it was exactly what we were looking for. Nicole and Katharine were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We loved the flexibility that Burloes offered us - we were able to add our own personal touches to ensure that it really reflected us both. Nicole was always at the end of an email with advice and guidance and we were made to feel so welcome. Everything went so smoothly and all of our guests commented on the amazing view - it truly is a magical setting. Thank you so much to all the team at Burloes - we loved every second of our wedding day and just wish we could do it all over again!

Amazing views, fabulous marquee, just perfect

Burloes was the first venue we visited and we knew we’d choose it straight away so didn’t visit anywhere else! The marquee was new in 2017 and enormous, and it includes the catering tent, toilets, lanterns on the pathway up and parking on site with security. The views are amazing (clear sides means you can see out across the landscape or open them if hot weather) and there were horses in the fields, rabbits and pheasants when we visited on the sunny open day. It’s a super countryside venue that’s really not far from central London. When we booked there was a shortlist of caterers (we chose Capers) who were great to work with and made the day run really smoothly. You can bring your own booze in the day or use a company so there’s lots of flexibility. Nicole and Katherine lead things from the Burloes side and are charming, kind and fun to work with! The marquee is a blank canvas so we came 2 days early to cover it with coloured paper lanterns, flowers and ribbons. You could get a company in to help you do this though! You and the guests have full use of the gardens which make for great photos - our photographer (Sasha, also recommended) took us out for a sunset shoot. Then the party started (we used splendid sounds, who we also would recommend) and they were awesome. There’s back roads for you to park up near the marquee that your guests don’t see. Royston itself has loads of accommodation and pubs and Barley has a town house registered for marriages which is very oldy- worldy. We had a perfect, super special day, and would do it all over again (if we had the money!) Mr & Mrs Richards xx

Stunning Venue, Amazing Pole Marquee

My husband and I got married at Burloes Hall this year on 28th April. The weather wasn’t as great as we had hoped but we had an amazing day regardless! Katherine and Nicole did an amazing job helping us organise our wedding and were always on hand to ask any questions or queries we had!! Even letting us use the marquee some evenings to hold meeting with caterers/DJ etc! The marquee/gardens looked immaculate and beautiful and we can’t wait to see our professional pictures of us in the secret gardens! The marquee itself is huge & beautiful inside! It has added extras like a fire pit outside, indoor and outdoor comfortable seating, modern bar, dance floor, sparky star like lighting above the dance floor and mood lighting around the marquee that you can set to your preferred colour! We spent most of the evening in the marquee due to the weather but we never once felt all crammed in or too crowded & we had over 200 people present! And once inside you didn’t even notice what the weather was like outside, it was so sturdy and warm inside! Definitely recommend for any wedding/party! The stunning views are amazing - even in the rain!!!!

Amazing Wedding Venue

A beautiful wedding venue with an incredible team of people to put your day together and make it something amazing. We were the last wedding of 2017 and it felt like the first, everything just as perfect as when the marquee was put up back in April. The views and the beautiful gardens made it and our guests absolutely loved it. We found Burloes by total accident with Alex playing cricket in one of the farm barns and it is one of the few times I say I'm glad he plays! We could not have asked for more from Burloes or the team, they went above and beyond when I got a huge stain on my wedding dress, they appeared with buckets of soapy water and were so calm when I was frankly the opposite!! We could not recommend it enough, such thoughtful touches throughout, the colourful dimmer lights to match your theme, the fire pit, the matting outside, the cricket nets in the garden, absolutely everything you could want and more for a perfect wedding day. Wish we could do it all again!! Liz & Alex

We had a great time hosting our wedding reception at Burloes in the summer. Katherine and Nicole couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful - even letting us in a few months in advance for a pre-wedding photoshoot. Our guests really enjoyed having access to the immaculate grounds, and they provided an amazing backdrop for our photos! Such a surprise finding such a great venue close to home. Everything was perfect even down to the tiny details! We wouldn't hesitate recommending Burloes to anyone!

Grounds and Gardens stunning! Marquee amazing!
Venue Service

By Sam and Sarah OShea, on 28 Oct 2017Date of Wedding - 22 Jul 2017

We got married in July this year and could not recommend Burloes Hall enough. The grounds and gardens are absolutely stunning, with an amazing backdrop of fields and countryside and even horses running around nearby. There is a beautiful, brand-new marquee which was built this year which makes the venue brilliant no matter what the weather is like. We had rain almost from the moment we arrived, and it really did not matter. Katherine and Nicole are brilliant, they are so professional, but also completely relaxed, friendly and genuine, which was very refreshing and really set Burloes apart from a lot of other venues we visited. They both always went out of their way to answer any questions or requests we and were also very quick to respond. It was really nice for us to feel that they really enjoyed all of it and just wanted us to have a perfect day. Thank you so much for everything - Burloes will always be a very special place for us. We were lucky enough to book Burloes Hall Weddings and celebrated our wedding there on 3rd June 2017. We could not have asked for a more beautiful setting. If a country wedding with flowing gardens and rolling hills as far as the eye can see is your thing then this is the venue for you. What makes it even better are Katharine and Nicole. They ae truly wonderful! No ask is too much for them. They are there whenever you need them and they will do everything in their power to make your day amazing. Planning a wedding is stressful enough but Katharine and Nicole have a way of making you feel so at ease and welcome and just part of the family. It really makes all the difference and make the venue very special indeed. Thank you.

· From the day I first visited Burloes, I fell in love with it and with a smile from ear to ear, I knew this was where I wanted our reception venue to be. Although my future husband was not with me at the time, I knew the moment we came back together he would feel exactly the same. There is no other way I can describe Burloes, other than it is 'truly perfect in every way'. It's not just the beautiful surroundings that make it, Katharine and Nicole could not be more efficient, lovely and welcoming. They make you feel like no question is silly, and could not be more accommodating. I have never known a venue to let you have access two days before, and this made the lead up to our day a million times less stressful and enjoyable. We had so many comments from our guests of how beautiful the gardens, surrounding views and Burloes itself all are, and we couldn't of had a more perfect, magical day. If only we could turn back the clocks to this time last week, and do it all again! We will always be grateful to Katharine and Nicole, and highly recommend Burloes Hall Weddings. Thank you so much. Exceptional customer care, stunning views

In our hunt for a venue, two dreaded words were never far from our lips: “Wedding factory.” You know the places, well-oiled machines that churn through hundreds of weddings a year with little flare or imagination. Burloes Hall is the antithesis of this. It is a venue unlike any other because of its unmistakeable sense of exclusivity and elegance. Much of this is down to Burloes itself. The stunning gardens situated in the rolling hills of Hertfordshire will knock the breath out of even your most stonyhearted guest. But what really sets Burloes apart from the competition is the level of service from Lady Katherine and Nicole. They cherish your custom with boundless enthusiasm and provide the foundations for you to build a truly unique celebration. On your special day, you are made to feel just that: special. Burloes Hall is a million miles from a wedding factory. In fact, it’s a fairytale made real.
