Perfection at its most perfect.
It was the first venue we planned to visit following our engagement and knew we didn’t need to look any further.
The architecture of the house, the original decor and the decorative touches are outstanding.
The grounds are well kept and freshly prepared daily to ensure they are always on top form. However, it really was the attention to detail and incredible quality of the staff which really made the difference!
Every time we visited the venue for another visit, checking on final details or attending one of their wonderful dinner dates, the staff were fantastic. We have not experienced such consistently high level of professionalism, but always with that little bit of personality from each and every member of staff we saw. This make it particularity lovely to see those familiar faces we had gotten to know, on our actual wedding day. We can’t forget to thank the staff who worked hard behind the scenes to produce impeccable food and the wait staff who kept everybody’s glasses wet.
Lee, our personal wedding manager; we just can’t stop singing his praises! Any issues at any time, he was there. He was happy to offer reassurance when things weren’t going quite to plan. On the wedding day itself, he kept everything under control, running smoothly and done it with grace and ease. He made us feel heard, prioritised and ensured our wedding was unique to us, truly representing who we are as a couple. He worked efficiently with our suppliers, made them all feel welcomed and at home. Several of our suppliers actually commented saying that it was the nicest venue they’ve worked with as a result.
Holmewood Hall were great in accommodating our social content creator, Amyleigh socials to do her work. She perfectly captured the pure happiness, love and joy from the day. From the preparation, our first reactions, our ceremony and all the way until until our party; Amy really has created a lifetime of memories from this most beautiful venue and our perfect day. Holmewood Hall encouraged Amy and Steve (our photographer), to move around the venue as they needed to really show off their skill set.
We sincerely cannot thank Amy, Steve, Lee and all the staff at Holmewood enough! We cannot wait to visit for a dinner date soon, as a married couple!
We are so happy to have booked this venue and def recommend it others you won't be disappointed.
The Bridal party stayed in the Cottage the night before and had an incredible evening, making the most of the local pizzaria (Sub Xpress Pizza) and hot tub.
On the wedding day itself Lee, our Wedding Planning Manager, could not have done enough for us, everything was as we had planned and everything was spot on.
The food was incredible, as were the drinks. Lee made sure we were able to have a completely gluten free wedding, and I must say it surpassed all expectations. Myself and my gluten free guests got to eat food we haven't been able to for years!
We also stayed for the breakfast the next morning, which was also fantastic.
On the leadup to the wedding Lee did everything he could to answer all my questions and gathered all the required information for the running of the day.
All in all, it could not have asked for a better venue, we had outstanding customer service and exceptional planning.
The most perfect day!
All guests with dietary requirements were catered for perfectly and most of them commented on how must of a positive experience the food was.
The wedding breakfast was served and everyone said the portion sizes were very filling, there was evening food left over (unheard of).
The DJ set up the perfect playlist based on our likes dislikes and requests. The first dances were organised and worked perfectly. I would recommend getting as much confetti as possible for the indoor dance shot, as it came out stunning.
The catering team and cleaning team turned everything around so quickly it was like there was never any mess.
As a bride you might be anxious about not moving into the bridal suite until 11, but this honestly gave plenty of time to move everything over, finish getting ready and getting dressed perfectly for the ceremony. Guests commented on how clearly you could hear with the acoustics of the gold room for the ceremony, I would recommend the inside ceremony, for the use of the stunning mirror and for your guests to be able to hear you!
Holmewood also purchased mini golf which we added on last minute, this stays out all evening and some of our guests even got another round in the next morning before breakfast.
We would recommend Holmewood to anyone who asked, worth every penny! Giulia, Kala and team were perfect. Thanks again.

Perfect from start to finish
Our experience at just early stages. Wow!!
The food was brilliant with different variations for vegan and vegetarians, gluten-free and dairy-free. Their service at the breakfast was seamless and they just kept checking in with us to make sure everything was going well. I could not have asked for a better 24 hours.
The most magical, memorable day of our lives!
A fairytale 🤍
Without a doubt the best day of our lives
Perfect wedding 💕
Our winter wedding
The package included the food, cake stand, a certain amount of drinks and the DJ.
I have to say that the service was excellent, particularly on the wedding day. Lee our wedding manager had everything running as it should and organised everyone. The catering staff were also excellent and the food was delicious.
Everyone enjoyed the disco.
The best thing for me was that the Hall was exclusive to us which meant we didn't have to worry about the children's safety and we were able to get married at the venue and then have quite a lot of the guests stay and have breakfast with us the next day. Breakfast was good, like a hot and cold buffet.
The only negative things I would say are:
1. That you can only choose to have 2 mains and 2 starters. As one of these has to be vegetarian it restricts peoples' choices a bit. I asked if there could be a choice of two meat dishes so that we could have beef and chicken and then the vegetarian option but this wasn't allowed. I found it strange as you have to get peoples' orders in advance. However, the food itself was delicious.
2. The dance floor room was very, very cold in January. A number of our guests went and sat in a different room / bar as they were too cold. Eventually I asked for some portable heaters to be brought in.
3. The bedrooms are quite expensive and don't have much in the way of facilities as it is NOT a hotel. There are no TVs or tea and coffee facilities. Not really an issue for us as we were enjoying the wedding but I think some of the guests might have liked to be able to make a cup of tea for instance. Also, you have to 'bulk buy' the rooms though in the end we actually filled them all as we subsidised the cost of the rooms to our guests.
Overall though I would recommend Holmewood Hall as a wedding venue.
Awful from start to finish
See points below.
. No tea or coffee making facilities.
• No TV.
• No Wardrobe.
• No phone to contact reception or anyone.
• Terrible wifi.
• Bath towel was barely bigger than a hand towel.
• Cold room (not once the whole time did the room get warm despite radiators being on as high as we could get them).
• Despite arriving early (after a 4hr drive) we had to wait around to check in, then everyone had to be checked in at the same time with only 1.5 hours to get ready for the wedding.
• Noticeably everyone was then showering at the same time as water temperature constantly fluctuating up and down.
• Only the very bottom of the towel rail was warm meaning our towels didn't dry, so the following morning we had to use wet towels.
• Bathroom tap leaked.
• The door didn't lock sufficiently meaning you could just push the door open from outside when in the locked position.
• No room within the venue felt a comfortable temperature, the actual wedding room was too hot, all other rooms never felt upto a decent temperature.
• Came down for breakfast at 09:05 and cereals hadnt been replenished and cooked food looked and tasted dried out.
• My partner was just invited to the evening event and not the wedding. Needless to say with no tv, no tea or coffee and pointless wifi she ended up having to leave the venue through sheer boredom.
• Couldn't relax once as we constantly felt rushed for time.
We didn't complain about any of the issues at the time as we were so rushed for time from start to finish and staying for less than 24hrs we didnt want the hassle of being moved or having to deal with sorting them out.
All in all, we were shocked by how bad the whole experience was and it certainly wasn't just ourselves that felt like this having spoken to other guests at the wedding.
If it's in your budget, go for it!
This is not a cheap venue, however considering it comes with full catering, a DJ, and the ability to have your entire wedding and reception in one place, it was absolutely worth it. The catering was very tasty, no corners cut at all. They also provide you with a wedding manager, who guides you through the whole process and is able to make things work incredibly well since they know and work with the staff directly. I would also highly recommend the bedroom package, as it means guests coming from afar have an easy place to crash. We had an international wedding and this was invaluable. Plus it includes breakfast the next morning.
Overall, a rock-solid choice, which we highly recommend if it's in your budget.
