Battel Hall is a newly restored 14th-century manor house situated on the edge of the Leeds Castle estate in Kent. Surrounded by the 500 acres of parkland and luscious gardens that surround the 900-year-old Castle, Battel Hall is a stunning venue suitable for romantic weddings and incredible celebrations whatever the season.
Battel Hall’s dedicated wedding co-ordinators are on hand from your very first enquiry right through to the big day; using their experience and outstanding service to make your wedding at Battel Hall everything you have imagined and more. With an exceptional catering team and in-house floristry team led by the RHS award-winning Louise Roots, Leeds Castle aims to exceed all of your wedding day expectations with their fantastic service and attention to detail.
Emerging from an extensive restoration, Battel Hall boasts a unique history spanning over 500 years, and will be opening its doors for bookings from Spring 2018. The stylish manor boasts distinctive character, period features and is a fine example of Kentish architecture of the middle ages. The venue was built by Thomas de la Bataille, the master mason to King Edward II, and much of the venue’s original medieval details remain, including the arrow slit windows and stone corbels. Couples can say ‘I do’ in the beautiful Ceremony Room, featuring rich wood paneling, or under the historic byre, set amidst the fragrant gardens. The Library and Oak Room are also both perfect for intimate evening receptions. The ground floor De Gournay Reception Room is decorated with exquisite De Gournay wallpaper in a palate of yellows and creams, with large doors leading out to the gardens. Upstairs, the five luxurious en-suite guest bedrooms offer incredible views of the gardens, the far North Downs and glimpses of Leeds Castle.
Battel Hall is a wedding venue for all seasons, with open fires to warm the winter nights, and a 100-year-old perfumed wisteria blossoming over parts of the manor through late spring and early summer. Battel Hall’s secluded country-house garden also plays host to a myriad of flowers that flood the grounds with a variety of blossoming hues. From the evergreen hedges to the romantic peonies, roses, irises and garden shrubs, the gardens provide an idyllic space to host an open-air wedding celebration.
