Bamboo Sky is a beautifully different countryside wedding venue in the Cambridgeshire village of Bourn. Created by owner Shaina and named after her twin daughters, it is a heartfelt, independent venue where every wedding is genuinely personal.

Hidden behind our award-winning Thai restaurant, you’ll discover a secluded country garden beneath a magnificent sweeping willow tree, seven private dining domes, a wild meadow, botanical lounge bar and heated terrace.

From intimate gatherings to exclusive celebrations, Bamboo Sky offers a relaxed wedding day shaped around you. Think a celebrant-led blessing beneath the willow, cocktails in the garden, generous Thai feasting around long tables in the meadow and dancing beneath the stars.

By day, the venue feels green, relaxed and wonderfully secluded. As dusk falls, the willow, garden and domes come alive with colour, fairy lights and festoons, creating a magical atmosphere unlike anywhere else.

Facilities and Capacity

Most couples choose to hold a symbolic or celebrant-led ceremony beneath the willow, followed by drinks and canapés in the garden. Wedding feasts can be arranged around relaxed sharing tables beneath the tree or with a more curated table plan in the garden, domes or wild meadow.

Smaller weddings can enjoy private or part-exclusive use of the venue, while larger celebrations can make Bamboo Sky entirely their own. We can accommodate around 80 guests for a seated wedding feast, with exclusive celebrations for up to 120 guests depending on the plans for your day.

Our new meadow canopy, available from late spring 2027, provides a beautiful shaded and showerproof setting for ceremonies and dining while retaining the feeling of an outdoor wedding.

Bamboo Sky is magical in every season. Summer brings celebrations beneath the willow and dining in the meadow, while autumn and winter offer open fires, a cosy restaurant, fairy-lit gardens and heated domes twinkling beneath the night sky.

Whatever the weather, there is a beautiful Plan B. Up to 50 guests can dine across our seven private domes, while the restaurant provides an atmospheric indoor setting for larger seated celebrations.

Please note that Bamboo Sky is not licensed for legal marriage ceremonies. Couples can complete the legal formalities separately before holding a personal symbolic or celebrant-led ceremony with us.

Food and Drink

Food is at the heart of every Bamboo Sky wedding. From canapés, colourful bowls and relaxed buffets to a seated wedding breakfast, we create generous Thai menus around your tastes and the style of your day.

Drinks packages can include fizz, wines, beers, cocktails and mocktails, with a fully stocked bar throughout your celebration.

Personal Planning and Support

With over 200 weddings having been held at her venue, Shaina still personally meets every couple and helps plan the timings, layout, food, drinks, styling and flow of the day. We can also recommend trusted local celebrants, entertainers, photographers, florists and stylists, with no obligation to use them.

On the day, our team prepares the venue, so you can arrive and enjoy your celebration without worrying about setting everything up.

Wedding Prices

Intimate Bamboo Sky weddings start from approximately £4,000, with larger exclusive celebrations typically ranging from £10,000 - £15,000 depending on guest numbers and your choices.

As a guide:

• Food and drink packages: from approximately £65 per person
