The Three Hills is a beautifully restored and multi-award winning 17th-century coaching inn located in the heart of the village of Bartlow, only 20 minutes from Cambridge and 30 minutes from Stansted Airport. With highly experienced staff and an award-winning kitchen, stunning landscaped gardens and patios, a bridal suite, a family flat and five other luxury ensuite guest rooms, we have the perfect location for your special day.
With only a limited number of weddings a year, every wedding is treated as the unique and special event that it is. From the minute you choose The Three Hills to host your event, you can relax, secure in the knowledge that every detail is taken care of for you. All you have to worry about on the day is having a fabulous time!
Your wedding breakfast will be one of the highlights of the day, so it has to be memorable. The Three Hills holds two AA Rosettes and a Michelin Plate for Good Cooking, and in 2021, it was voted highest newcomer in the Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs. In 2022, we won Best Rural/Country Pub in the UK in the Great British Pub Awards and Best Boutique Stay in Suffolk and Cambridgeshire in the Muddy Stilettos Awards, and in 2023, we won Best Pub in the East of England in the National Pub and Bar Awards.
As we are an intimate venue, all rooms must be booked for your event, the cost for which can be covered either by your guests or by yourselves. Each of our stunning rooms with ensuite bathrooms features pocket-sprung mattresses, Egyptian cotton sheets, large fluffy towels, rain head showers, Roberts radios, Nespresso coffee machines, fresh milk, and White Company toiletries. There are four rooms in the Guest Lodge at the rear of the property, three of which have king-sized beds and one with twin beds. On the first floor of the pub, we have our bridal suite - a large luxurious room with an ensuite bath and shower - and our smallest but cutest room, also with a king-sized bed and ensuite shower. Our self-contained two-bedroom flat next door is perfect for families or for the bridal party who may wish to gather for pre-wedding celebrations. The first bedroom has a king-sized bed while the second has a standard double, making it suitable for up to five people - either three adults or two adults and three children.

The most amazing wedding day
Emma, Victoria and the whole team and The Three Hills were simply amazing. They helped adapt the wedding package to our needs and kept in regular and clear communicaiton during the planning stages. They went above and beyond to make the day simply perfect, and all the details and effort was what made it.
The venue itself is stunning, and even at the end of October we were able to have our wedding under the canopy outside (alongside heaters and beautiful sheep skin rugs to keep everyone warm).
The food was INCREDIBLE and overall we can't say enough about what an amazing experience it was. If you are looking for a more intimate wedding day, look no further!

The perfect wedding venue
We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue than The Three Hills in Bartlow. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel completely at ease. Everything was beautifully organised, and the whole day ran like clockwork.
Our ceremony took place on the sun terrace, bathed in golden light and surrounded by the peaceful charm of the countryside. It was intimate, joyful, and utterly magical. The setting couldn’t have been more idyllic.
The food was exceptional, and the service throughout was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. The Orangery and surrounding spaces gave us so much flexibility, and every detail felt personal and polished.
What really sets The Three Hills apart is the feeling that your wedding truly matters to them. It’s intimate, heartfelt, and full of character. We’re so grateful to the whole team for helping us create memories we’ll treasure forever.

Best Wedding Venue! Highly Recommend!
We had our wedding at The Three Hills on May 16th, 2025, and it was truly perfect from start to finish. From the moment we walked into the venue for our first meeting, through the follow up after the event, both Emma and Victoria were incredibly helpful, responsive, and reassuring throughout. They put so much care and love into our wedding.
The venue itself is absolutely stunning, full of character and charm, and provided the perfect backdrop for our party. The food was exceptional — beautifully presented and delicious (we did feast style which we highly recommend), with so many of our guests commenting on how impressed they were. The chef even came out to greet everyone and make sure we were enjoying the food.
Every detail, from the ceremony to the evening reception and the lovely breakfast the morning after, was handled with such care and professionalism. We felt so well looked after the entire time.
We honestly couldn’t recommend The Three Hills more. It was everything we hoped for and more. Thank you again to the entire team for making our day so unforgettable, especially to Emma and Victoria. You two are like family to us! Cant wait to see you again soon.

Our perfect wedding day
From the moment we first looked around The Three Hills, we knew it would be the perfect venue for our wedding.
Emma was fantastic in helping us organise the day, offering a range of thoughtful options for both the ceremony and the dinner. Head Chef Rob gave us a mouthwatering selection of food to choose from, and both he and Emma provided invaluable advice and guidance that made planning the day so much easier.
The housekeeping team were equally brilliant. They went above and beyond to accommodate the bridal party as we got ready in the flat above the pub, working hard to ensure everything was ready for the early start. All seven rooms on site looked beautiful, and their proactive, caring approach made the bridal party’s experience extra special.
The whole day ran seamlessly thanks to the incredible behind-the-scenes efforts of the staff. We were able to completely relax and enjoy every moment, knowing everything was being taken care of. The pub looked absolutely charming, with every detail set up exactly as we had imagined.
The Orangery was the perfect setting for our small, intimate ceremony, and the covered patio area made for a stunning location for our dinner.

A truly exceptional wedding venue!
On May 3rd this year, we had our reception at ‘The Three Hills’ in Bartlow. My husband and I are a mature couple and have been married before. We wanted to keep our celebrations small but still make it a special and memorable occasion. After visiting many venues, we met Emma and Victoria at the ‘The Three Hills’.
The ladies, (sisters) were approachable, professional and obviously experienced. They listened to what we wanted and made suggestions as to how they could meet our needs and budget. We also wanted to make a few changes along the way and Emma and Victoria were flexible, fair and accommodating.
On the day of our wedding, everything was perfect, the environment was stunning; many of our guests commented on how beautiful it was. Even though it appears to be a small pub, there are many areas which we had full access to.
The food was amazing! We had canapés outside when we arrived and a wedding feast, as recommended, in the orangery. We also had a choice of three desserts and then later-on, when the evening guests arrived, pizzas were freshly cooked outside. All the food served was in abundance and the taste and quality was outstanding! The chef is friendly and takes time to ensure people are happy with the food he has prepared. He comes out personally to meet people.
The accommodation at The Three Hills was exceptional too. Our guests that stayed, commented on how fabulous they were: décor, cleanliness and comfort. One of our friends said that the rooms had been well thought out as everything they could have possibly needed had been provided.
Emma, Victoria and their amazing team could not do enough for us. We have no regrets or suggestions for improvements. Would we have the same venue again knowing what we know now? Absolutely 100%!

You should get married here!
The Three Hills was always on our list of potential venues for our Wedding. Why? When it’s not a wedding venue for your day it’s a cracking pub. The Three Hills serves the best food around by talented chefs young and old and It has exquisite charm & style – a lovely bar, orangery, beautiful accommodation and a canopied outdoor space which is extra special. It also serves beers from local breweries and most importantly the Guinness is great!
After we saw a couple of venues we went to The Three Hills to talk it through with Emma and Victoria over a coffee or three. We love the pub, and after a tour of what our day could become, & a chat with Rob and Charlie the chefs, we knew that it was the only option for us.
Emma, Victoria, Rob and Charlie worked with us over the coming months to plan our day. From our own menu through to in-depth chats about our day in 15 minute bites, we together achieved a perfect plan ahead of our wedding day.
On the day it absolutely hammered it down. Our wedding was all about the outdoor and despite the rain the space was utterly magical. It did not dampen our spirits but heightened them.
The service, food, music, space and atmosphere was tremendous - we were blown away by how special it was.
The Three Hills, Emma and the team, are an exceptional team – they are experts in what they do, and now I’m pretty sure we’re family too.
All of our guests, including us, believe it’s the best wedding they’ve ever been to (excluding their own)!

Beautiful venue, amazing food, lovely team!
To everyone at The Three Hills, we just wanted to say the biggest THANK YOU for hosting our wedding!! We had the best day and had so much fun! Thank you so much for all your hard work, time and energy that went into making the whole experience seamless and amazing! You made everything seem so effortless and relaxed - but we know how much work this took! We are so pleased we chose to have our wedding with you - it was such a joy from start to finish! The food, service, aesthetics and ambience were perfect. There was so much attention to detail, from calligraphy signs, to candles, confetti and flowers at breakfast! And all our guests said it was the best food they had had at a wedding by far. Thanks for making us feel so welcome, we really appreciate you all!

Best decision we made for our special day
The team at The Three Hills couldn’t do enough for us! This really was the best decision we made for our wedding day. Everything was absolutely stunning, the staff were professional, helpful, knowledgeable and fun! Both Kelly and Emma made sure we had everything covered and really took the load off of our shoulders so we could enjoy the countdown to our special day. We could never thank them enough for giving us this fairytale.

The Perfect Country Wedding
It was all so easy. Emma and her team (Kelly and Max among others) were so clear, organised and responsive. The chef was also perfectly happy to experiment with ideas we had (baked camembert and honey; we wanted to infuse a bit of France), in a wonderful dialogue with us, as we worked with the different set menus. The venue is exquisite. My husband and I both wanted a country wedding and simplicity (in the best sense of the word): we'd found a beautiful medieval threshing barn (but that was £6k to hire, even before we started on the actual catering!). And we really didn't want all the hassle of stress of doing our own event management: this was about us getting married, not practicing our organising skills - Emma and her team have all that organisational flair, and we could just enjoy the day. The best photo of us from our wedding is Paul and I laughing in the green field at the back of the Three Hills. And that is testament to how relaxed we felt, and how beautifully smoothly the day went. Everyone loved it: the food, the landscape, the building, the bar! It was a truly magical and joyful day, one we shall never forget and the team at the Three Hills were absolutely fundamental in making it happen. In typical bride style, I was talking so much, I hardly ate. I completely missed out on dessert but remembered the wedding cake and cheese. Everyone else tells me the food was divine!
