Orton Hall was a fantastic wedding venue. My partner and I originally visited for a wedding fayre and immediately fell in love with it, especially the grounds. On Friday 15th May just gone, we had our wedding ceremony and reception here and it was the best day ever. The staff were friendly, helpful and communicative, the food was delicious, the DJ was amazing. My groom and I had a lovely stay the night prior, as well as the night of the wedding. We wouldn't have changed a single thing. :)

From the moment we got in touch with the team at Orton Hall we were greeted by professional and friendly staff. Sophie who acted as our wedding coordinator at the venue was fabulous. She helped us through every step of the way, was kind and friendly and always answered our emails with questions really quickly. We really can’t fault Sophie’s amazing work with us!
The venue did a fantastic job with the food - especially because we had some unique allergies from our guests but they made sure everything was safe and even eliminated my allergen (as the bride) from the menu all together both day and evening. I massively appreciated not having to worry about this on my wedding day!
The venue itself was absolutely stunning, we got access to the room earlier than expected so we could decorate and the staff were all unbelievably helpful throughout the day.
With the weather being nicer than expected we were even given the option to have our welcome drinks outside after planning for them to be indoors so this was a nice add on!
The manager who acted as an announcer for us throughout the day was also very helpful
We couldn’t fault any of the staff for their professionalism, hard work and kindness.

The only reason I haven’t given a full 5 stars is because we had a few hiccups that caused some unnecessary stress throughout the day.

The first one being room swapping. I’d booked a room the evening before to get myself and my bridal party ready in. We were told with that room adjoining our room for the following night we could get ready no problem before the wedding and staff would move over our things when we’d gone. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case we had to move over our things to the room while getting ready which is fine but the issue is I asked throughout the morning when we’d need to do this and was told the room wasn’t ready yet. Only when I was in the makeup chair (the last but one to get ready) I was told the room was ready but I was assured there was no rush to leave our current room. Me and my bridesmaids carried on getting ready and I went into the other room to get dressed. It was then that the hotel staff told me I had to get out of the original room asap so it could be cleaned for the next guests. This meant while I was meant to be having a first look with my dad, everyone was coming in the room to dump everything in there, including my dad so we never got to have a first look. This caused so much stress before the ceremony and I actually got quite upset because of this key moment missed with my father. He was also gutted. We would’ve much preferred getting access to the room earlier in the morning when we had time to move everything over instead of in the last half an hour of me getting ready which caused a lot of stress and missed key moments.

The other issue we had was gate crashers. With getting married in December there were Christmas parties in one of the other function rooms at the hotel. We weren’t told about this when booking but it wouldn’t have been a big deal as long as they were kept separate from our wedding. Throughout the night we had at least two people from the Christmas party gatecrash our wedding even though we politely asked them to leave they kept returning and they even vandalised what we were using as a guest book (it was a canvas rather than book so we couldn’t just take the page out) they’d written in big letters on our canvas and actually swore on it. At this point the manager had gone home and there wasn’t really anyone to keep them away so my husband had to keep asking them to leave instead of being able to enjoy the evening dancing and celebrating with our loved ones. Eventually a staff member had realised and told them to leave but by that point the damage had already been done. Another issue which caused a lot of upset, understandably.

While the team at Orton have been fantastic throughout the wedding planning - Sophie has been AMAZING - and even on the day staff were very helpful. There were definitely some moments I look back on and still wish were different, I believe they have learnt from the gate crashing situation so other couples won’t be affected by this but it’s a shame my wedding and what would’ve otherwise been the best day of my life was the one that it took for them to relook at their events. And me and my dad still say we wish we had our first look but the days done now so we’re focusing on the good not the bad because other than those two moments the day was THE BEST!

We can not fault Orton hall as a wedding venue, our experience from the first phone call with Sophie to the last words with Dave the manager last thing at night was absolutely fabulous and the rest of the team were amazing and kept putting us at ease, between ourselves and Sophie we came up with a wedding we wanted and to our budget, nothing was to much trouble for them, and the price was very reasonable for a hassle free wedding venue we also had our wedding ceremony there in the conservatory which looked amazing, the food was outstanding all our guests loved every course they had, also the accommodation for the bride and groom was lovely, all in all nothing was too much trouble for anyone throughout the whole process we cannot thank Orton Hall enough for making our special day even more special it is a beautiful venue and would recommend to anyone wanting a very special experience on their wedding day.

From our first meeting with Ryan the senior conference and events coordinator everything was handled with complete professionalism.

On the day I was greeted by a lovely gentleman who got me drink while I waited to see the registrars, he also gave me a very interesting rundown on the history of the hotel including the arch which was once part of Fotheringhay castle. (Alas I can't remember his name.)

My fiancée was greeted on arrival by the same gentleman, I believe, who was again very helpful and very courteous.
Everything we requested for the service was perfectly catered for.

After the service, we went into the garden for photos. Where canapes and drinks were served the canapes were very good quality and every comment everybody commented how much they enjoyed them.

We then went into the great room for our wedding breakfast, I cannot praise highly enough quality of the food and the service so much so all of our guest commented how lovely the meal was.

We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank every member of the staff who went way out there were way to make our special day so perfect I couldn't recommend Orton hall highly enough.

We are all nervous on this day, are all the guests here? is everything in place? Is there something missing? Did I forget something ?
You are not able to take the day for yourself with everything that plays on your mind.
This is were Manager Goncalo and his team come in place on Orton Hall, they were always present for anything we needed, one step ahead of us making sure it all comes together. They took care of our guests, were close to us to guide us on the events and making sure we were setup.
The friendly atmosphere and Orton Management team made sure we could start to let go of the worries and be present on our day making it special.
We enjoyed our day, our guests enjoyed, they allowed us to be a couple together with our family and friends.
Orton Hall historical building dates back to 1080 and has plenty of scenes to take great photos, every corner makes a great shoot.
Second bonus if works has a Spa, we can always come back to remember our special day.

Early on we had our intentions and requirements in mind so it wasn’t long until we were sat deliberating between 3 venues and ultimately Orton Hall came out on top and we are so pleased it did! The staff were absolutely so professional and genuinely kind to us and our guests and the venue itself was fantastic, we had so many compliments for our choice and shock that it was in Peterborough and no one seemed to know about it.

We had our perfect wedding day at Orton Hall Hotel and cannot thank the team enough - especially Ryan, our coordinator. He was always so quick to respond to every single question (and there were many!) and was fantastic right through to the big day itself.

The food was absolutely excellent - we had the striploin of beef, which all of our guests complimented. On the day, everything was run seamlessly by David, who was such a calm and steady presence, nothing was too much trouble!

Our photos have come out beautifully, and looking back we couldn't have wished for anything more! The whole experience was more than we ever hoped for, and we'll forever be grateful to Orton Hall for making our day so special!

We had the pleasure of getting married at Orton this August and I must admit the entire experience was a complete 10/10. Sophie our event coordinator was super helpful and responsive in the lead upto the event. On the day duty managers G and David were an absolute delight with so much attention to detail. The rooms were also lovely and spacious. If I had to say anything negative to balance the response out, it was the lack of Aircon. But they did leave fans everywhere and having lots of garden space and the airy conservatory made up for it. All guests complimented the venue and we had a lovely time. Thank you Orton Hall. Orton Hall was exactly what we wanted for our wedding, it is a picturesque location, the staff were brilliant leading up to the day and on the day itself. Everything went on without a hitch!

We chose Orton Hall Hotel and Spa after viewing many of the local hotels as having the guests stay at the venue was really important to us. From the first meeting with Sophie all the way through to the end of the day we couldn't fault them. The staff were friendly and approachable and nothing was too much in the run up to the day, the food was delicious, the locations for the photos were stunning and the previews we have seen we are so happy with. The whole experience was so enjoyable I will definitely return for our anniversary.

We recently had our wedding at Orton Hall, and we can’t thank the team enough for making it the most perfect day. From the planning stages to the day itself, everything was handled with such care and professionalism. Our guests have all commented that it was the best wedding they’ve ever attended!
