You won’t want your wedding day to ever end, but sadly it has to. Make sure it ends on a high by picking the perfect song to finish it all off and adding it to your wedding party playlist.
As Matthew Crozer from wedding band The Redfords explains: “The end of the evening at a wedding should be the celebration of everything that has come together to make a great day.
“It’s not as simple as picking one best song – it should do so much more. Fast or slow or raucous or romantic will mean different things to different people.

“As a general rule, and if the ending song hasn’t been pre-arranged by the couple, we’d build up to a raucous number such as ‘Chelsea Dagger’ by the Fratellis before seguing into ‘Hey Jude’, getting everyone to sing along and focus on the band. Then the band leader can talk over a toned down chorus, focusing everyone on the newlyweds before explaining we’re at the end of a fantastic day – then we’d end on a recording of perhaps ‘New York New York’ and an impromptu circle of guests will surround the happy couple.”
Bearing that in mind, let’s find the perfect song to end your wedding party to…
