Model wearing a long sleeved lace wedding dress
Watters

For many years strapless wedding dresses were the most popular style for brides-to-be. However, the tide has turned, with more and more brides choosing wedding dresses with sleeves – both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle wore long sleeve wedding dresses, and when Kim Kardashian and Kanye West tied the knot, she too opted for a chic sleeve.

Long sleeve wedding dresses are a great choice for brides getting married in the autumn and winter, as they provide more warmth than their strapless counterparts and save you needing to look for a wedding coat or cover up. That’s not to say wedding dresses with sleeves don’t work for summer and spring weddings: illusion sleeves are a perfect way to embrace the style without overheating, while bell sleeves will keep you cool when the sun is shining.

Short wedding dresses with sleeves are a fun option for beach or boho weddings, and have the extra bonus that they help you show off your wedding shoes. Lace wedding dresses with sleeves are a timeless style of wedding dress, perfect for creating a classic bridal look, but if you’re after an edgy bridal look, off the shoulder wedding dresses look lovely paired with sleeves. For a sexy bridal vibe, pair sleeves with a thigh slit or an open back to show a bit more skin, or choose a sheer overlay.
