I’m Peter Haken, an Oxford wedding photographer and filmmaker creating natural, documentary wedding photography and films across Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Gloucestershire, London, Bristol and selected UK locations.
My approach is calm, honest and unobtrusive. I photograph and film weddings for couples who want the day to feel real, not staged. No stiff posing. No forced scenes. No turning the wedding into a production. Just real moments, natural movement, strong composition and films with real sound and atmosphere.
Most of the day is covered quietly as it happens. I step in only when it helps, usually for family group photos, relaxed couple portraits and practical moments where a little calm direction makes the day flow better.
Wedding photography starts from £1,295. Wedding films start from £2,000. Combined photography and film coverage starts from £2,950.

Absolutely Amazing
Peter was the perfect photographer for our wedding!! He captured moments we missed and moments we saw, he made everyone in the wedding party feel completely at easy. The photos were perfect a mixture of traditional and candid. He took what we asked for and did above and beyond! Highly recommended!!!!!!

The best candid photographer
I found Peter when I was looking for a photographer for our intimate celebration but no one else met the brief. From the moment I saw his online gallery I knew he was the right photographer for us. We wanted to spend the day enjoying every moment and not worry at all about getting the "right" photo, it turns out that with the right photographer you don't have to sacrifice either. Peter is that photographer!
Before the wedding we had a call to discuss what we wanted from the day and logistics, Peter helped calm our nerves about having photos which didn't seem natural. On the day he was there very early and spent the whole day with us, he captured the day exactly as we remember it. He sent over the first few photos within a week of the day and the rest in only three weeks. I love every single one. Thank you Peter.

Wonderful videos that showcased the emotions of our wedding day
Peter was a great wedding videographer and captured so many beautiful moments throughout our day. What really stood out was how perfectly he managed to reflect the personality, emotion, and atmosphere of the wedding in the final video. He creatively clipped together different parts of the day to create a video that felt natural, emotional, and truly special to watch back.
He was also extremely professional from start to finish and blended seamlessly into the background, allowing everyone to feel comfortable and relaxed while still capturing all the important moments. We’re so grateful to have such meaningful keepsake videos of our wedding day and would recommend Peter to anyone.

100% recommend - just perfect for our day!
Peter couldn't have been more perfect for our day. From the moment we met him we knew we were in safe hands. He instantly made us feel relaxed and at ease.
He got some incredibly natural shots without us even knowing he was there, even our guests commented on this.
We got our 'group shots' done nice and quickly which was what we wanted, and then he guided us throughout the shots which he thought would be important to get. This was brilliant advice he gave as we had no idea the kind of photos we needed in the morning (father's first look, mother putting on my jewelry etc.). He even took the time to tie my husband's tie!
He also worked really closely with the staff at the venue, making sure he was able to make the most of where we were.
We are so grateful for everything he did for us, and would 100% recommend him to anyone.
