I’m Peter Haken, an award-winning wedding photographer and filmmaker creating natural, documentary-led photography and films across Oxfordshire, the Cotswolds, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Somerset.
I offer photography, videography and combined hybrid wedding coverage for couples who want their day captured naturally, without turning it into a production.
My approach is calm, honest and unobtrusive. No stiff posing. No forced moments. No endless retakes for the camera. I photograph and film the day as it genuinely unfolds, capturing the people, emotion, movement, sound and atmosphere that make your wedding your own.
Most of the day is covered quietly as it happens. I step in when it helps, particularly for family group photographs, relaxed couple portraits or practical moments where a little direction keeps things moving.
For couples wanting both photography and film, combined coverage gives you one consistent visual approach across the whole wedding. Natural photography alongside films built around real audio, speeches, movement and the atmosphere of the day.

The best candid photographer
Before the wedding we had a call to discuss what we wanted from the day and logistics, Peter helped calm our nerves about having photos which didn't seem natural. On the day he was there very early and spent the whole day with us, he captured the day exactly as we remember it. He sent over the first few photos within a week of the day and the rest in only three weeks. I love every single one. Thank you Peter.

On the day, he was so easy to have around and we hardly noticed he was there, but he somehow captured everything! The photos are incredible and feel so natural, with lots of lovely candid moments alongside the group shots we wanted. They really capture the atmosphere and memories of the day rather than feeling overly staged or cheesy.

He got some incredibly natural shots without us even knowing he was there, even our guests commented on this.
We got our 'group shots' done nice and quickly which was what we wanted, and then he guided us throughout the shots which he thought would be important to get. This was brilliant advice he gave as we had no idea the kind of photos we needed in the morning (father's first look, mother putting on my jewelry etc.). He even took the time to tie my husband's tie!
He also worked really closely with the staff at the venue, making sure he was able to make the most of where we were.
