We booked Gemma without hesitation after she had previously done mine and my mum’s makeup for Mum’s wedding in 2019. This time around she had a slightly bigger job on her hands, taking on full hair and makeup for me, four bridesmaids and my mum!

We booked a trial for all six of us, which Gemma somehow managed entirely by herself with a huge 9-5 shift and barely stopped for a tea break. For the most part, the trial was a huge success and she left with photos of all the girls so she knew exactly what she was recreating on the wedding morning.

I was the exception. I wasn’t completely happy with my makeup, but this was absolutely nothing to do with Gemma’s work. I simply realised that what I had originally asked for wasn’t actually what I wanted! We booked a second trial just for me, which gave us time to properly talk through it, play around with some different ideas and work out what I was trying to picture in my head. I’m so glad we did because on the wedding day my makeup was absolutely perfect. It was exactly what I had wanted, and my hair was a dream too.

Gemma brought her assistant Juliet on the wedding morning to help with timings and, by some miracle, even with an unexpected road closure thrown into the mix, all six of us were completely ready and walking out of the door bang on schedule at 11:40.

My hair didn’t move all day, despite our wedding being a 13-hour event, and I definitely cried enough to put the makeup through a proper endurance test! I couldn’t believe how well everything stayed in place right through to the end of the night.

On top of being brilliant at what she does, Gemma is just such a lovely, down-to-earth and calming person to have around on your wedding morning. Even when I was convinced we were running behind, she stayed completely relaxed and just got the job done. She also worked brilliantly around our photographer and his timings, even lending him bits of makeup to use as backgrounds for his detail shots!

I genuinely couldn’t have imagined anyone else getting me ready for my wedding day. A huge thank you to Gemma and Juliet for making all six of us look and feel amazing.

From first contact through to the trial and the big day, Gemma was fantastic. I had no idea what I wanted but Gemma worked her magic and made me, my daughter and my friend look amazing. On one of the hottest days this year the hair and makeup lasted the duration, even the questionable dance floor shenanigans! I would highly recommend her for any of your events. You will not be disappointed.
